OlderJonathan Rhys Meyers @ Mother’s Funeral
Jonathan Rhys Meyers bid his mother, Geraldine O’Keeffe, a final farewell at her funeral on Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Glanmire, County Cork, Ireland. Mrs. Meyers O’Keeffe passed away on Tuesday morning at Mercy University Hospital following a short illness.
The Tudors actor was accompanied to the funeral by his girlfriend Reena Hammer. Fellow Irish actor Colin Farrell was also in attendance, seen embracing Jonathan (pictured below). Irish actor Cillian Murphy was also reportedly there. His flowers and card can be seen below.
JRM’s father John O’Keeffe and his three brothers Alan, Jamie and Paul, heard Priest Noel O’Sullivan describe Mrs. Meyers O’Keeffe as a “loving, caring mother, who would go out of her way to help people.”
Our deepest condolences go out to Jonathan and his friends and family.

Jonathan’s tribute for mum
Jonathan Rhys Meyers paid an emotional tribute to his mum Geraldine at her funeral yesterday.
The tearful Tudors star led the congregation in a round of applause to honour the 50-year-old who died on Monday after suddenly being taken ill.
After the service, the 30-year-old Irishman wept on the shoulder of fellow actor Colin Farrell.
Farrell told him: “I’m here for you man, you will get through this.”

Jonathan told mourners at the church in County Cork: “She was the best mum a son could ever have. It is a very sad time. At a time like this it is traditional to have a moment of silence.
“But anybody who knew my mother would know she hated silence. So I ask you all to stand and give her a round of applause.”
Geraldine brought up Jonathan after his dad left when he was three.
The star, who lives in North London, was comforted throughout the service by his girlfriend Reena Hammer.

I usually have fun in watching paparazzi pics, but there are moments in which they should stay away. It’s so disrespecteful to take pics at a funeral, it’s a very intimate moment and everyone should allow people greaving for a loss their privacy.

I can’t believe the bad taste, its a funeral, why would you be hanging out looking for a photo op. My own father passed not that long ago and let me tell you I wouldn’t have wanted to be hounded. I feel sorry for him and what he’s going through. Shame on the press!

How in the World can people make Photos at other people furneral! I´m truly shocked. Nobody wants to have paparazzos at a furneral. This is one of the hardest days for the family and friends an they want to make money!
