Nikki Blonsky and the fake Zac Efron transport back to the 60’s on the “Great American Diner” float during Thursday’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Nikki, who turned 19 earlier this month, and the dancers from Hairspray sang and danced to a rousing performance of “You Can’t Stop The Beat.”
The fake Zikki and the rest of the Hair Hoppers also helped promote the November 20 DVD release of Hairspray.

Tracy, you are right, Nikki deserves attention of her own, but you were the one who said Zac had competition from his stand in, thereby clearing the way for the responses you received.
If any of you want hollywood to change their view, do it by seeing the movies, buying the DVD’s, Etc. But don’t do it by comparing one star to another. Even with morals and values, people make mistakes, and I hope she never makes one.

Hey Sporty Spice, who are you kidding? Some of the biggest bashers of Nikki are nasty Vanessa fans! When Zac and Nikki were promoting HAIRSPRAY around the world the comments from anti-fans were brutal to her. You may be a kind and supporting fan for your favorite but many are not so charitable.
However, I could not agree with you more about bashers staying off sites if they intend to be degrading to anyone. I am a big Nikki fan and have nothing against Vanessa, but it is annoying to come here and have to read about all things Zanessa.

But as I have seen posted on these threads many times, two wrongs don’t make a right. If someone bashes nikki, say something to them, not something about their celeb.

IA Jennifer, I am still amazed that this was her first role. She just did such an amazing job and she has a lovely voice. Nothing against any of the other women who have portrayed Tracy, but I think Nikki did it best. She really made the part her own.
I would also love to hear more about her up coming movies and projects. The girl works so hard and we hardly get to hear about her movies. One is already wrapped and the other is still in production.
And I have anticpating thw awards season. I can’t wait for the cast to get the ensemble award at that film festival and for Nikki and Emile to get the rising star awards. I think rising star and ‘one to watch’ describe her perfectly.

Kayla, I say just ignore the haters. Nikki has said herself in the commentary if it makes people feel better about themselves to make fun of or say mean things about her then she is helping them out. Cause she doesn’t care what they think and people like that are just insecure. Now as fans of her it’s a little harder to not get riled up, trust me I know but let’s just ignore the ignorant people and focus on the good things. Such as the fact that Nikki has 2 movies coming up, AND she will be recieving those awards at that film festival.
When you have the likes of the entire cast of HS praising you…when they are amazing talented themselves….I think that says something. Everyone was impressed with her.

From the way that Zac has talked about her, he is in awe of her talent and her poise and the way she carries herself as a person and as a professional. I agree that he, perhaps most of all, would be extremely disappointed in his fans who put her down.

Irish, was that the actor who is playing her dad? Didn’t he say that on Myspace or am I mistaken? And I am not surprised everyone has just nice things to say about her. You can just tell she is the sweetest girl.
Everytime she performs, she performs live. That is another thing I love about her. Her talent is real. And I noticed a bunch of people who lip sync in the parade and just in the industry period, but Nikki can sing LIVE and have it sound just as good as the album. She has such a good voice.
I can’t stress enough how badly I want to know about these projects. I can’t wait to watch them when they come out but it would be nice to get some info before then. It’s hard to find news on her and her new projects, so I hope JJ will continue to report on her and perhaps bring us some news and/or pics from what she is working on. Pretty please?

You’re right, Nonna. The critics usually find faults with everyone, but she was universally praised for her work in Hairspray. And also by the amazing legends that she led on the cast. Everyone seems to have been in awe of her.

If Nikki isn’t nominated, that would be such a huge mistake. She was the lead in one of the biggest movies of the summer…not only that but a musical that did really well…3rd best ever in the box office wasn’t it? I CANNOT wait for awards season. Ben Lyons of course predicted she’s a shoo-in for a GG nom and we already know she’s getting an awards at the Palm Springs Festival and much more besides I’m sure.

Nikki has said she isn’t bothered by people calling her names because they’re only trying to hde their own feelings of inadequacy, she’s ok with you making yourselves feel better by saying stupid things about her appearance.
So say what you like about her…she doesn’t care what you think
and neither do I for that matter.
