Nikki Blonsky @ Thanksgiving Day Parade
Nikki Blonsky and the fake Zac Efron transport back to the 60’s on the “Great American Diner” float during Thursday’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Nikki, who turned 19 earlier this month, and the dancers from Hairspray sang and danced to a rousing performance of “You Can’t Stop The Beat.”
The fake Zikki and the rest of the Hair Hoppers also helped promote the November 20 DVD release of Hairspray.

Rosie, ICA. I think they would be really disappointed in their fans for saying such things…especially Zac with the way he as gone as far as saying in interviews ‘Take that’ to all the kids who used to tease Nikki, because she couldn’t say it.
Nikki deserves everything she gets. I’m so happy for her. I hope she gets nominated for GG and other rewards. I mean this is the one movie and one actress even the critics adored.

I agree that Nikki deserves all the support and accolades she gets! She is so talented! And, more than that, she is a wonderful person with amazing spirit and kindness. It is clear that everyone who meets and works with her is just won over by her!
From the way that Zac has talked about her, he is in awe of her talent and her poise and the way she carries herself as a person and as a professional. I agree that he, perhaps most of all, would be extremely disappointed in his fans who put her down.

Hi Nonna. There was a report about some of the filming on QS from an actor on the movie basically saying that Nikki was extremely nice and easy to work with…he even got to chat to her mom and wish Nik happy birthday :) If I find the link I’ll post it here.
I’m still so majorly impressed that she belted this out LIVE. I mean she always does sing live but given some of the other singers that have been in the industry longer than her who lip-synched..well it speaks for how talented Nikki really is.
I want more info on Nikki’s projects too. She is such a wonderful girl and actress. She deserves all the recognition she can get.
She changed my way of thinking and seeing life.

She has been nominated for many awards at various film festivals, too. I’d love to see some coverage of those events here!
Irish, was that the actor who is playing her dad? Didn’t he say that on Myspace or am I mistaken? And I am not surprised everyone has just nice things to say about her. You can just tell she is the sweetest girl.
Everytime she performs, she performs live. That is another thing I love about her. Her talent is real. And I noticed a bunch of people who lip sync in the parade and just in the industry period, but Nikki can sing LIVE and have it sound just as good as the album. She has such a good voice.
I can’t stress enough how badly I want to know about these projects. I can’t wait to watch them when they come out but it would be nice to get some info before then. It’s hard to find news on her and her new projects, so I hope JJ will continue to report on her and perhaps bring us some news and/or pics from what she is working on. Pretty please? :)
Oh that’s another thing Jennifer, awards season. I csn’t wait. Nikki deserves any and all awards she gets. I would also like to see coverage on this. And I am wondering if she will end up going to the GG with Ben Lyons. She is supposed to if he is right in his prediction about her being nominated. ;)
And not only have all of her incredibly talented cast members, who some are legends that have been around the business for years so you know they know talent when they see it, not only do they have nothing but respect and praise for her and were blown away by her but the critics loved her too. They really love anyone. :P I think that says a lot.

You’re right, Nonna. The critics usually find faults with everyone, but she was universally praised for her work in Hairspray. And also by the amazing legends that she led on the cast. Everyone seems to have been in awe of her.
I also love that she sings live all the time, from events like the parade to the international premieres for HS. What a talent.
I really would like to see more about her upcoming projects.
I wonder if she will take Ben Lyons to the Golden Globes, as she said she would when he predicted her nomination back in the summer. Because I am just certain that she will be nominated. It would be an absolute travesty if she wasn’t!

If Nikki isn’t nominated, that would be such a huge mistake. She was the lead in one of the biggest movies of the summer…not only that but a musical that did really well…3rd best ever in the box office wasn’t it? It was a huge success and Nikki recieved nothing but glowing reviews. How could they not nominate her?
The critics even critsized John’s performance and he is a legend. Our girl got nothing but praise all around the board.
I’m glad Nikki isn’t being hounded but how is it possible that the paps never catch her?

I CANNOT wait for awards season. Ben Lyons of course predicted she’s a shoo-in for a GG nom and we already know she’s getting an awards at the Palm Springs Festival and much more besides I’m sure.
