Russell Crowe to Replace Brad Pitt

Universal Pictures is trying to replace Brad Pitt in State of Play with American Gangster star Russell Crowe, according to Variety.

Just this past Wednesday, it was announced that Brad dropped out of the film because of disagreements about the shooting script.

We’ll find out early this week if Russell will take on the political thriller and/or if Universal will follow-through with a lawsuit against Brad for bailing.

Nov. 29 is the last possible date Universal has before they start to lose the other actors in the film (Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn).

Hiya to all BAMPZS fans this great morning.
CONGRATULATIONS BRAD AND ANGIE!!! (Yes I used exclamation marks because I’m EXCITED!) Yeah…OMG, it’s so great that this outstanding movie is getting recognition. Does this mean we’ll get the chance to see them both accepting an award, thank each other and gush about each other? Swwwooon…
Brad, you’re a brilliant producer, and Angie, you’re a brilliant actress. BRING ON THE GOLDEN GLOBES! :D Hopefully both Brad and Angie will get recognized for their performances in AMH and TAOJJ. Yeeaah! :laugh:
I know it’s a stupid question, but to anyone who knows, when are these independent or spirit awards handed out? (I’m not sure how they’re called, I haven’t been through all the thread, just these noms) :)
