Helio Castroneves Wins ‘Dancing With the Stars’
The 2007 Dancing with the Stars winner is Helio Castroneves and his partner Julianne Hough. This marks the second year that Hough has brought her partner to the top. Her winning partner from 2006 was Olympic Speedskater Apolo Ohno. Congrats!
This must be such a huge disappointment for The Spice Girls. Can’t win ‘em all, I guess!
Mel B. and Maksim Chmerkovskiy came in second. Marie Osmond and her partner Jonathan Roberts were eliminated within the first 15 minutes of the show.
Helio, 32, is one of the top North American race car drivers. He won the Indianapolis 500 in 2001 and 2002 and took second place in 2003.

BOO!!! he doesn’t really do anything. it’s mostly Julianne doing all the work while he stands and twirls her around. Mel should have won.
take away julianne and helio sucks. take away maks and mel can still dance. dwts favors the men, obviously… and he got the same luck emmitt did… the previous champion. but just because the PROFESSIONAL DANCER comes up with great dances doesn’t mean her crappy partner should win. mel deserved that trophy.

CONGRATS TO HELIO!! =) He was a great sport, always smiling and fun to watch. I liked him throughout the competition and I am happy for him. Mel B was great too, and I am glad she made it into the finals. Now she has the spice girls tour ahead of her and many good things.

Congrats to Julianne and Helio - they were terrific, always fun to watch. Julianne is an awesome dancer and really brings out the best in her partners. Sorry….I disliked MelB from the start so I’m very glad she didn’t win.

Celine Dion was fantastic as the guest tonight. Both Mel B and Helio’s dancing was off the charts tonight. Amazing. Like someone mentioned, Mel B may have been better and should have won but Helio has the fanbase and did win.

Both Helio and Mel B were great dancers. Either one of them could have won and I wouldnt have had a problem because they both brought their A game. I am just glad Marie Osmond got ousted, I was so sick of her and the on air drama she dragged on.

I can’t believe Mel didn’t win. What a disappointment!!! Mel and Maks TOTALLY deserved to win. So not fair!
Mel is British and does not have the fan base Helio has in the US. That is why she lost.
Never underestimate Brazilian power when it comes to dancing. Mel B is a great dancer, I admit, but Helio has the Brazilian hot dancing blood in his veins, so the results couldn’t be different. All I can say now for her fans is: “Don’t be sorry for her, she was the first runner-up competing against a Brazilian man. Maybe you can send a better spicy girl next time, not a scary one!”
I don’t even know who helio is, I only got to know him because of this show. And honestly, this show is so one-sided. Marie shouldn’t have been in the finals, it’s a dancing show, not a pity show. It’s suppose to be the best of the best, just because you fainted and you were popular in the 70’s doesn’t mean that you should go on to finals. Honestly, Sabrina should have won, It would have been interesting to see her dance since her skills are amazing. I think the best final 3 would have been Mel, Sabrina, and Jennie. All of maries middle aged fans watch this show and they have nothing better to do but find another phone and keep voting. Helio, the women like him cause he’s cute. But hopefully we’ll see improvement next year!

Hey, I just watched the outcome of this show and I was so happy Helio won. Mel B has had dance experience were as Helio has not.Just watching some of the practices she seemed rude and arrogant. I felt sorry for Mak. But in the long run I am just glad that marie didnt win, I was so appalled by her performance last night I was in shock! How could Jonathan let her do this? I really didn’t care who Won as long as it wasnt Marie and i have nothing against her as for Jennie she was a whiney little thing and she should not of gotten as far as she did. As for ruining if for the west coast….I was smart and learned from when Sabrina was outed before the show aired not to turn on the internet. So I was surprised and I am on the west coast.

Okay, everyone settle down. I normally jump on JustJared 5 or 10 times a day. Today I was so interested in finding out who won, I was surfing all over the web……little did I know I could come here to find out. darn!!!! I wanted to know so I could sit back and watch the show without all the suspense!!!
And mostly, I couldn’t stand to watch it if Marie was in the final 2. Even if she didn’t win. I couldn’t watch her annoying, whiney attitude any longer.

Hmmm, it seems that all the male sports stars win in DWTS. Emmit, Apolo Anton and now Helio. The one time that there was a FEMALE sports star (Stacy Kiebler on the second season), it was Drew Lachey who won. It seems that there is a gender bias, and the one time that actually a woman won (Kelly Monaco during the first season), they had a rematch with the first runner-up because her win was contested, and John O’Herlihy won the rematch. It seems that women, no matter how good, can never actually win this thing. That sucks!

this show is awful, im never watching it again, every season they do the same thing and pick a mediocre dancer…. why do they even have the 3 judges who supposidly are experts on dancing if the votes that really count are the publics???..the only votes that should count are the judges votes cause they are the one’s who know who dances better and what not…..i mean helios not a terrible dancer, but he wasnt the best… the final show shoulve been between mel b. and sabrina!!!!!!!!!!!!

Helio was the only one on that show who didn’t seem so desperate to win. He was all about fun. People picked up on that and voted for him, plus he’s very good. Marie ruined the top three. Jennie Garth should have been in the top 3. Mel B was great and she gave great entertainment.
I think someone mentioned that Stacy Kiebler was the only woman athlete but Laila Ali (boxer) placed third on the last DWTS. I thought she was just as good as Mel B.

MEL B was by the far the best dancer and she should have won. Everyone keeps talking about how she is a dancer, but just because you are a hip hop/pop dancer doesn’t mean that you can do ballroom dancing so this was brand new for her just like it was for the other contestants. She has a striking personality, she’s classy, keeps it real, and is very talented.

Mel may be have more sophisticated moves, but Helio is a better performer. He made the routines look effortless whereas she looked like she had to work for every move. Maybe he went in knowing he was an underdog and more relaxed.

What a load of ****. Mel shouldve walked away with that trophy! Helio is alright. granted i dont watch other people’s segments because i watch this show on youtube, but from comments by other people; it’s his partner that carries him through this competition. sure, he’s improved. BUT! this show is about who is THE BEST DANCER — and that clearly is Mel B. It’s evident from the all the judges lackluster and not overly excited clapping when they announced the winner that they felt the same way. They were probably expecting Mel to win. Too bad something fishy is going on in this show and the person who is CLEARLY THE BEST gets shafted. I guess that’s life.
