Older2008 Spirit Award Nominations
Actors Lisa Kudrow and Zach Braff announced the 2008 Film Independent’s Spirit Award nominations at Sofitel LA on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Best feature nominations: “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly,” “I’m Not There,” “Juno,” “A Mighty Heart” and “Paranoid Park.”
Best actress nominations: Angelina Jolie ( “A Mighty Heart”), Sienna Miller (”Interview”), Ellen Page (”Juno”), Parker Posey (”Broken English”) and Tang Wei (”Lust, Caution”).
Best actor nominations: Pedro Castaneda (”August Evening”), Don Cheadle (”Talk to Me”), Philip Seymour Hoffman (”The Savages”), Frank Langella (”Starting Out in the Evening”) and Ton Leung (”Lust, Caution”).
Besides the two aforementioned nominations for A Mighty Heart, John Orloff was also nominated for Best first screenplay.

i just saw AMH the other night and i thought angelina did such a wonderful job. she captured marianne’s quiet dignity and portrayed the anguish so vividly it was palpable. congrats to angie and brad and everyone who was a part of this very timely snd incredibly moving film.

Ummmm….it’s not quite so cut-and-dried as that. You will notice who is always absent from X’s life post-Friends. There have been photos of X on several occasions with Matthew Perry & Matt LeBlanc going to lunch or on the beach or wherever. Now ask yourself where are similar photos of her with Lisa Kudrow or David Schwimmer.
Don’t believe the Faniston myth about how the 6 of them are such great “friends”. 2 of them are great friends. 4 of them a really good friends. And the other 2 distance themselves from X-related events for a good reason - they think she’s a neurotic phony. Don’t know how they could’ve ever come to that conclusion…
Now watch a Faniston come along and throw a hissy…and whoever you are? You’d better have photographic evidence to make your case. Lots of nice friendly photos of X with Kudrow and/or Schwimmer post-Friends. Happy snipe hunting.

sorry to say but most of brad pitt movies sucked.a bomb at the box office.now i know why.the guy has no taste for the common people.all the movies he done recently is for the elite for the intellect only.he lose the taste of the common people.
I am happy for everyone involved with A Mighty Heart for their nominations. This was quite a collaberation between Brad and Angelina, and a very risky one, too, IMO. If it had not turned out well, the critics would not have been kind. But it is a wonderful movie, with great acting and great directing, filmed under very difficult circumstances. Brad and Angelina can be proud of a job well done on a project that meant a great deal to both of them. Most of all, they did well on behalf of Daniel, Marianne, and Adam.

Just because Lisa played on Friends it doesn’t mean that she’s team anything. She has never said anything like that and she has been barely seen with X throughout all the years of Friends. There is no drama.

Let it go, does not promote a good vibration (endless pity, victimization) for JA. Her fans need to forget about the marriage and the divorce and stop collectively seeing her as anyone’s victim to be pitied. Not a good vibration to put out there about anyone you profess to admire.

Angelina inspires her fans to have a positive vibrations about her
so sticks and stones, just fall away or beat her detractors. I don’t believe winning the award will stop her detractors, but the fans, we will rejoice!!! and like the the lady said before, we may just gloat a teeny bit.
Never thought Kudrow’s a close friend of X. In all the years of Friends never saw pix of her hanging out with X and CC. Anyway she’s always my fave “Friend” partly becos she never seem close to X and CC both on and off-screen. She appeared very independent.

Yeah, isn’t that pathetic? Aniston is only remembered as “a woman who failed Brad Pitt”. She is defined by her failure in marriage, not by her work or talent. Really sad and to be pitied. Miss Aniston = Miss Pity.
