Nicole Kidman @ ‘Golden Compass’ Premiere
Nicole Kidman (in Balenciaga) and country superstar husband Keith Urban attend the world premiere of The Golden Compass at the Odeon Leicester Square on Turesday in London, England.
FYI: The couple did not stop to talk to the press at the premiere.
A doll-like version of Nicole recently made the cover of Radar Magazine.
In the film, Kidman plays the character of Mrs. Coulter, a Cruella de Vil-type role that she plays to icy perfection. The Golden Compass arrives in theaters nationwide next Friday, December 7.

Nicole looks beautiful as usual. I can see why people might think she’s used botox, but I don’t think she has. She has had unusually beautiful skin - perfect even - since she first came on the scene. AND she is still able to emote. I think people are threatened by the fact that she actually looks good for her age instead of like others in HW, who look like they’re 10 years older than they actually are. On top of everything else, she finally looks happy.
I DO think she needs to work on her coloring, though. She always looked beautiful with her red hair. This blond seems to wash her out since her skin is so porcelain-like.

What I see is someone who was filming a movie at sea, on a boat, constantly exposed to sunlight, who probably got a little color, but I don’t see freckles. No, the photographer was standing on the side of the road taking pictures of them (the couple) driving by in Oz - in no way causing any danger. He was on foot with just his camera. She made Keith pull over, and she got out of the car and said “F off”. It was even videotaped on another photographer’s video camera - priceless. This photographer was doing nothing wrong, nothing illegal - just standing on the side of the road - out of harm’s way!

Hardly repsentative of women in America where the average size is 12 to 14. The reality is that she is working in an industry that is very competetive. There is always newer, prettier, and younger actresses coming up and Hollywood seems to worship youth. If you start talking about something then you need to actually read & get your facts straight first. The publishing company of the newspaper called her as a witness for the defense to help get them out of having to pay any kind of montetary damages to Fawcett for calling him names in this article. This was in no way Nicole’s fight.

Wow, I came on here just to take a look at some pictures. . . i didn’t expect to get bombarded by crude remarks and personal attacks on people that we don’t even know. Apparently, celebrities now need to get permission from the general public before falling in love and being happy.
I, for one, and all for two people finding each other and falling in love. I also believe that EVERYONE makes mistakes and EVERYONE has the opportunity to turn their life around. Keith Urban has taken some wrong paths and is doing his best to take the right one.
I don’t know if Nicole has had work done or not, but I do know that it doesn’t concern me. If people want to have work done to make themselves feel better or help them with their career. . . More power to them. If I could afford it, I may have some things nipped and tucked. . .

You see Nicole Kidman towered over her husband at this world premiere of her new film, The Golden Compass. I am expecting her performance in her new film very much. Nicole really is a terrific girl really cool intelligent and beautiful as well as terrifically talented. Though I do not see the film, I have read the novel—The Golden Compass. It is a compelling and wonderful story of fantasy and adventure. It creates such a beautiful imagination. “The Golden Compass”. The movie has been described as “atheism for kids” and is based on the first book of a trilogy entitled “His Dark Materials” that was written by Phillip Pullman. Pullman is a militant atheist and secular humanist who despises C. S. Lewis and the “Chronicles of Narnia”. His motivation for writing this trilogy was specifically to counteract Lewis’ symbolisms of Christ that are portrayed in the Narnia series.
Clearly, Pullman’s main objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview that “my books are about killing God.” He has even stated that he wants to “kill God in the minds of children”. It has been said of Pullman that he is “the writer the atheists would be praying for, if atheists prayed.”
While “The Golden Compass” movie itself may seem mild and innocent, the books are a much different story. In the trilogy, a young streetwise girl becomes enmeshed in an epic struggle to ultimately defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God. Another character, an ex-nun, describes Christianity as “a very powerful and convincing mistake.” In the final book, characters representing Adam and Eve eventually kill God, who at times is called YAHWEH. Each book in the trilogy gets progressively worse regarding Pullman’s hatred of Jesus Christ.
“The Golden Compass” is set to premier on December 7, during the Christmas season (and staring Nicole Kidman), and will probably be heavily advertised. Promoters hope that unsuspecting parents will take their children to see the movie, that they will enjoy the movie, and that the children will want the books for Christmas.
Please consider a boycott of the movie and the books. Also, pass this information along to everyone you know (including church leaders). This will help to educate parents, so that they will know the agenda of the movie.
This movie is very offensive to Christians. It is a brain-washing movie and story. If you going to make a movie dont make it offensive to ANYONE. or dont make it so obvious that its offensive. Just like the Da Vinci Code. All something against God. Cant you people get it? How would you feel if someone showed to the whole world (using really famous people to make it a-must-watch) that what you believe in is WRONG! it hurts!

Narnia is a great novel and movie compared to this atheist crap of a movie. As a person who believes in God, I immediately got the message in Narnia - do you?

If you have a problem with the supposed message of this movie, then don’t go see it. It’s that simple. I was raised a Christian, but somehow am not offended by the fact that others don’t necessarily believe or have faith. It doesn’t affect me in any way, nor does it or should it affect you. There seems to be a control issue among some overly-devout people who think they have the right to tell people what they should or shouldn’t read, watch or think and that is truly frightening. Trust that people are intelligent enough to think for themselves. I can’t imagine the masses are going to go see this movie and immediately convert to Atheism because of a children’s story. They’ll see it for what it was made to be, a fictional adventure story. Not everyone is so easily swayed.
And where is Daniel Craig?

I am a Christian, but it does not mean, I will judge blindly. Trouble begins when we follow blindly. Don’t see the movie then if it offends you . . others will. But to just say to people don’t see it is wrong. Let them judge, you are not them… they should be able to think on their own.

You know what? Keith Urban probably treats her really well and not like she’s just a piece of arm candy he can dress up and show off. I have always gotten the impression that Tom Cruise is more interested in impressing people with the women he gets and kind of wearing them like an accessory than he is in actually being with them. The way he shows them off on the red carpet appears incredibly condescending. Nicole was finally able to show that she had talent that had nothing to do with being ‘Mrs. Tom Cruise’ once she got rid of that midget egomaniac.

Betty I agree with you. Whoever called Keith a “dirtbag” knows nothing about him. At least he was man enough to come out and say he has a problem and did something about it. I mean I hated to see him go into rehab, but at least he got help before it was too late. Keith and Nicole truly love each other. For Ketih to schedule his tour so he can see her every once in a while is so sweet and generous. Not many people would have done that.
The one reveiw I saw said it just got one and a half stars out of five and if some one gave you a ticket you most likely would not go to see it

I don’t bother with movie reviews - why decide what to see based on what someone else thinks? I’ve been waiting for this movie to come out since I saw the first preview MONTHS ago.

Almost all actors and actresses in their forties have made some kind of “improvements”. SO WHAT? It is HER business what she wants to do with HER face and HER hair.
