VANESSA HUDGENS
On her wish list: “My driver’s license. I plan on taking my test really soon.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “Putting up the Christmas tree together as a family. I love doing themes. This year is going to be gold and crystal.”
Her hope for Gabriella in HSM3: “We’re all going to be seniors, so I hope she gets into a good college.”

On his wish list: “I’m constantly breaking things, and I go through skateboards pretty fast. So a new Sector 9 Longboard would be nice.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “I always help pick out a natural, chopped-down-in-the-woods tree, so our whole house starts to smell like Christmas.”
His hope for Troy in HSM3: “To win another basketball game — maybe even nationals.”
ASHLEY TISDALE
On her wish list: “Christian Louboutin heels.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “My great-grandma has passed the tradition of Christmas cookies on to my grandma and my mom. The recipe is top secret.”
Her hope for Sharpay in HSM3: “To win prom queen. She didn’t get the musical in the first one. She didn’t get the guy in the sequel. She needs to be prom queen!”
LUCAS GRABEEL
On his wish list: “A package of guitar picks. I’m always losing them.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “I’m always in a different country for Christmas, so I’m always adapting to traditions abroad.”
His hope for Ryan in HSM3: “That he takes a break from dance steps. Maybe join the basketball team and shoot the winning goal. That would be fabulous.”

You really do have to wait until you’re ready- my oldest daughter was 19 too. There were a few teen driver fatalities around the time she was learning, and got really uptight about it. But she did fine once she was ready; Vanessa will too!!
I also love how they all have normal family traditions!! Trees, cookies, etc.– it’s all good!!

Steph, that would be perfect! They need to have Sharpay and Ryan as friends because otherwise it would be rehashing the plot from the first two. I’m thinking that they will be and these new characters that Kenny has mentioned will be the antagonists.
AS for the reunion idea, that would be fun to see but they would have to make it believable. In the last Harry Potter book, the epilogue set in the future ruined it for me because it didn’t flow on well from the rest of the novel.
I have faith in Kenny and the crew though, whatever the story is I’m sure I will love it :)

Everything I’ve heard about her indicates to me that she’s pretty much living her life pre-scandal is pretty much the way she is living it now. That family has always been important to her, if there aren’t as many pictures pre-scandal back that up well the paps weren’t as big a part of her life as they are now unfortunately.

In a way, this is kind of true in the Philippines. But filipino women in the states don’t think that way. Honestly…only until recently of this year, did I find caucasian men attractive. But in most countries, like the US for instance, the Fil-Am people here who marry or prefer caucasian people, most marry because of love. You know this actually could have been a fun thread with fond memories of roasted chestnuts, stockings hung by the fire and eggnogg. But instead we end up having to respond to absolute garbage posted by sad, angry, little people with dead shriveled up souls that can’t stand to let others enjoy something simply because they don’t like it. Absolutely pathetic. I would say you should be ashamed but that require some actual decentency on the part of these people and and I really think some of them don’t have any.

Zvkg, my christmas wish is simple. All I want for Christmas is good health,good friends,happiness,and peace to all. Sounds corny,but that’s it.How long is the flight to Japan from the states?
Ellie, people in the states, all being different nationalities and cultures, have different traditions at the holidays! It’s really beautiful to see!! We here in New England, near Boston, hope for a white Christmas, but it rarely happens. We love fresh cut trees and evergreen garlands throughout the house, with white candles in our windows. There are fun parties in December that we dress up for, and we bake a lot of cookies. We love TV specials, like “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. We make lists of presents to buy for people we love and those we want to thank for being part of our lives.
In our house, we always spend Christmas Eve hanging together, and then go to church for midnight Mass. It’s really beautiful listening to the choir in the still of the night! My kids are older, so we sleep late after that, and have a big brunch in the morning. We open gifts, play new games, eat, and just have fun Christmas Day.
I know I’m forgetting a lot, but it’s a start!

Yeah. I try to ignore it. Only when it gets out of hand do I butt in, or when I’m stress at work and I take it out of them. I know I know…immature of me, but when I’m in that piece of mind, the haters become fair game. sigh…. I try to be cool w/ people’s opinion, and if it’s something I can debate to…then it’s good. But when it’s unreasonable and they hate her, good for them but really they shouldn’t be here. lol. I wish I was as nice as you. but…yeah. my christmas wishes are selfish, but it’s the truth. lol. As for japan, it took 9 hour. the flight back was shorter though. but I LOVE JAPAN AIRLINE!! JAL IS THE BEST WAY TO TRAVEL!! Seriously, they have the best food, and the best service. Everybody should travel using JAL. hahaha.

Sounds like a lot of fun go sox! I guess it’s a little like that over here as well. Australia is such a multicultural country and everyone has their different traditions.
In my family, we usually have Christmas at my house because we have the pool. Christmas lunch is usually seafood, lots of yummy prawns and a huge whole barramundi or snapper which we cook on the barbecue. We have a huge party on Christmas eve because it ia also my grandfather’s birthday and watch the carols on tv. My favourite ones are the Aussie versions of jingle bells and deck the halls and six white boomers.
The day after christmas everyone comes back over and we watch the traditional boxing day test match in cricket then play a backyard version ourselves.
Boji, it can get pretty hot here in Adelaide and it seems as if the number of days over 30 degrees in a year is rising. One christmas I spent in the outback with my dad’s family the temperature was 46 degrees!
aww zac and vanessa’s bday wishes and plans were cute. thats great about v getting her license. i dont feel like explaining the same thing i have been to haters tonight, so i will give a postive comment :] i love how v was wearing zs glasses and his pb ring, and obviously the kuippo while he was at his parents. she probably missed him, so thats how she keeps a little piece of him with her. alsoo, im sure that since zac is probably going to filming 17 real soon, they will be hanging out. maybe they were today? who knows, there are no pictures out yet, maybe they were inside? i really think the papz should just leave v alone already! i mean come on, who zooms in on what a person is buying at a store, or follows them twice in one day? grrr, ridiculous. hahha i agree with malia when she says vanessa should “accidently run them over,” when she gets her car :] teach em to back off.

Zvkg, the last time I was in Tokyo was when I was 16(Oh,so long ago)went there during the summer & it was hot. Visited the palace grounds &enjoyed the food.Was there only a few days with my parents.If you can you should try &come over to Malaysia.You can put up with me to save you cost.

One of my favorite things about Christmas as a kid was the family gatherings. My grandma on my mom’s side of the family lived with one of my aunt’s. My aunt lived in what at the time was a heavily wooded area she had a big garage. My mom was the youngest of seven kids and some of her siblings had fairly large families themselves. So I have a lot of cousins and sedond cousins etc, so we would all get together in my aunt’s garage at Christmas and go snowmobiling.

I grew up next door to my paternal grandparents. Every Christmas Eve at a certain time we kids(my older sister and younger brother and myself) would go over to their house. We spent so much time there anyway. But while we were there my parents and grandfather would transfer all the presents which were by then in the back part of my grandparents house and take them to our house and put them under the tree. We were never allowed to look out the window or Santa Clause wouldn’t come. So once my parents came they would tell us that they thought it was OK to come home because Santa Claus surely had come by then and maybe we should check to see if he had come at our grandparents house first. They lived in an old house which had what they used to call a parlor and it was where their tree was. We didn’t go into that room normally so we would rush off to see if there were presents there, which of course, my grandfather had put there while we were all excited about going back to our house to see our presents. Well, my grandparents would open their gifts and then we would all run to our house which was always the most fascinating revelation. It was alway beautiful with presents all over the place decorated gloriously. We would dive in opening presents with wrapping paper everywhere. My grandfather would be down on the floor with us laughing and enjoying every moment of it as much as us kids.
We slept in the next day as my mom and grandmother cooked even more than they had done the preceeding days. My aunt and uncle and cousins would then come and we would have this grand feast that would have fed the neighborhood. Us kids played games, watched the Christmas parade…
My grandfather died a couple days before Christmas and because of the holidays and Sunday that year, we had to have his funeral in the morning on Christmas Day. It would have been very sad as I was very close to him but somehow I took comfort in the fact that it only seemed right that he was with us that one last Christmas.
If I never make another Christmas memory, I have a lifetime of them already. I hope all of you can have even half as many as I have.

awwww, boji!! YOU are sooo SWEET. If I do decide to go there, I’ll make sure to take up on your offer. lol. Still not sure, but I have been thinking of travelling next year. I have to use up my 2 weeks worth of vacation before August ‘08, so….travelling is the way to go. I will let you know if I do. gahh…all these decision. hehe.
and you’re lucky you got to visit palaces. When I went to japan, it was actually for a concert. So, I was only stuck in Yokohama. I went to Tokyo for one day, but didn’t have enough time to go around and explore. That kind of tick me off, but…at that time, I really had no regrets. And Japan was WONDERFUL! And the people were soo interesting to look at, and their FASHION! Gahh! I definitely think that Vanessa would have loved going to japan. I remember her fashion sense when she was in her teens, and they resemble Japan’s fashion alot! So yeah, she definitely should go there w/ Zac.

Thanks levi! How do I come up with them? Well, I don’t really know…Little rhymes usually just pop into my head or a basic idea and then I just find the words to expand on them. I love writing and I’ve always had a way with words as my mum would say. Guess I’m just lucky that my brain is wired to be creative :)
It is fun Boji. I find it hard to think about Christmas in the cold. I’ve had one christmas in winter when I was in Germany and it felt so different!

I always loved watching my father play Santa at christmas time. He looked just as Santa should. So much so that no many how many Santas the hospital had working, parents and children waited for his shift. And no matter how many were waiting for him, he saw each and every one of them no matter how long it took. One time his replacement came to work inebreated, so he did a double shift even though his doctors told him he should not play Santa anymore due to his illness (he had Cancer).

Don’t let anyone try to make you feel bad about HSM. They probably really like it too but think they are just too cool for it and if they said they liked it they wouldn’t seem sophisticated. But what it shows is the are rather immuture because they are too worried about what others might think. I will say this much, if we push it a bit, I could be jamierenee’s grandmother. If I started having children as young as my mom then it would be a definite possibility.

Narf, your father had cancer? So did mine. He had stomach cancer and had to have his whole stomach removed. Luckily, by doing that he didn’t need chemo and now he is cancer free. It was right around christmas a couple of years ago and I remember we all made sure that he had a great christmas. He couldn’t really eat much of the food but we bought him extra presents and family members from a fair way away came to celebrate.

You know, even if Zac Efron was gay I would give him more credit in picking a male partner then someone like little tony. I have no doubt he would pick someone with class and intelligence and who had some concept of respect and know when to keep his mouth shut. I don’t think he would be with just anyone to just be with somebody—just like he isn’t sleeping around with all the women he could be sleeping around with. He chose one that he loves, respects, and wants to be committed to.
Yes ellie he did, unfortunately he did not survive. He decided to enjoy the time he had left with his family and friends rather than be sick. I was 13 when he passed and he had been sick for 2 yrs. Even though it was almost 20 years ago, but it is so clear in my mind.
He was a great father.
Narf, what a sweet father. He did a double shift as Santa and he probably wasn’t feeling well. But I bet when he saw those childrens faces light up when he came, was well worth it. What a special dad.

Aw Narf, I’m sorry to hear that. Considering you are such a nice and intelligent person, I have no problems imagining that your father was just as great.
It seems most people I know, know someone who has been affected by cancer. I suppose I’m lucky that my father and my aunt who had breast cancer both survived it. We have a day over here called daffodil day when people buy daffodil badges, pens etc to raise money for cancer research and I’m always amazed by how many people wear daffodils on that day.

I’m sorry to hear that about your father. It must have been very hard for you since you were so young. My father has Alzheimer’s and it is so hard to think about him not being here and I’ve been blessed to have him for so many more years.

Thanks karen, it was very hard. It hit my youger brother the hardest, he was only 11. He had a few bad school years, but turned himself around fairly well. He still doesn’t like to show his emotions but his wife is working on that.

You know what I would love? For Sharpay and Ryan to actually be friends with the guys this year and they all get into great colleges with Troy and Gabby surprisingly at the same college. I agree Laura, Vanessa and Zac are probably two of the most
gorgeous prople on the planet, but what makes them special is
they are truly more beautiful on the inside. They go over and
beyond what is expected of a celebrity. With all the pressure
on them only time will tell if they become more and more guarded.
Can’t say I wouldn’t blame them. In a way I hope they do there
seems to be a lot of Crazies out there and I worry for them sometimes.

High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens laments on fame
IF there is one lesson Vanessa Anne Hudgens has learnt in her short time in Hollywood, it’s that fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Even at 18, the star of Disney’s smash hit made-for-TV musicals, High School Musical and its sequel High School Musical 2, is wise enough to know Hollywood has a way of chewing up celebrities.
“It is a dog-eat-dog world,” the singer, who first came to prominence in the Thunderbirds movie, says. “People want to know about people’s business; no one really has a sense of privacy because everyone is trying to get into your business.
“And people become jaded and infatuated with Hollywood. I think it happens to a lot of celebrities and it messes with their head.”
While some actually like the extra attention, Hudgens says it’s not really for her.
“I don’t like people staring at me all the time and I don’t want people following me around,” she says.
“I became an actress and started singing and dancing because I truly loved it. I did not want to be a celebrity; I did it because I genuinely enjoy doing it. I think fame is just something that comes along when you are in something that is such a success.
“Fame is an interesting thing but my fans are very supportive and I thank them so much.”
Hudgens’s comments come as the star tries her best to win back fans after she was embroiled in a scandal earlier in the year, in which a photo of Hudgens posing nude was leaked to the internet.
Shortly after the scandal broke, Hudgens broke up with fellow HSM 2 star Zac Efron.
Maybe that’s the price of fame.
Still, there is no doubting the success of the HSM franchise. The premiere of HSM 2 was watched by 17.2 million viewers in the US, making it the highest-rating cable show of all time.
When the Kenny Ortega-directed telemovie premiered in Australia in September on Disney Channel Australia, it attracted 313,976 pairs of eyes, making it the highest-rated children’s program to ever air on pay-TV here.
Disney Channel Worldwide enterainment president, Gary Marsh says the HSM phenomenon “touched people in ways that made them want to embrace it as part of their lives”.
“Maybe the world is so filled with fear right now that people were ready for an uplifting, magical experience,” he says.
Doubtless, Seven will be hoping for big numbers when it airs for the first time on free-to-air TV this week.
Reprising their singing and dancing roles for the sequel are Efron as star athlete Troy Bolton, Hudgens as brainy transfer student Gabriella Montez, Ashley Tisdale as drama club diva Sharpay Evans, Lucas Grabeel as her brother and on-stage partner Ryan Evans, Corbin Bleu as teammate and best friend Chad Danforth and Monique Coleman as academic decathlete Taylor McKessie.
With junior year over, the East High Wildcats are ready to relax, so long as they can get decent summer jobs. Troy thinks he has landed a dream job at posh country club, Lava Springs. But it’s actually Sharpay’s plot to lure him away from Gabriella.
Asked what sort of high school student she was, Hudgens says she mostly received good grades but would “always end up getting in trouble for the most stupid things, like chewing gum”.
Interestingly, her HSM gig almost never happened. A young Hudgens was all set to audition for American Idol.
“I love singing and I thought that to get a chance to do it (American Idol) would have been amazing,” she says. “The only way I thought that I would be able to get myself out there would be on American Idol. But I was 15 at the time when I said that I wanted to do it and you had to be 16 to audition.
“So I thought, ‘One more year’. Then, when I turned 16, High School Musical came along and I got to do it. So I thought I’d skip on American Idol.”

316 - kelsi and jason - in the first hsm at the very end he took off her hat and undid her hair and handed her a basketball and that was kind of a hint and they always are together for the pairs dancing.
