The stars of the High School Musical franchise shared what’s on their wishlist this holiday season with USA Today. Here’s what they had to say:
VANESSA HUDGENS
On her wish list: “My driver’s license. I plan on taking my test really soon.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “Putting up the Christmas tree together as a family. I love doing themes. This year is going to be gold and crystal.”
Her hope for Gabriella in HSM3: “We’re all going to be seniors, so I hope she gets into a good college.”
ZAC EFRON
On his wish list: “I’m constantly breaking things, and I go through skateboards pretty fast. So a new Sector 9 Longboard would be nice.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “I always help pick out a natural, chopped-down-in-the-woods tree, so our whole house starts to smell like Christmas.”
His hope for Troy in HSM3: “To win another basketball game — maybe even nationals.”
ASHLEY TISDALE
On her wish list: “Christian Louboutin heels.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “My great-grandma has passed the tradition of Christmas cookies on to my grandma and my mom. The recipe is top secret.”
Her hope for Sharpay in HSM3: “To win prom queen. She didn’t get the musical in the first one. She didn’t get the guy in the sequel. She needs to be prom queen!”
LUCAS GRABEEL
On his wish list: “A package of guitar picks. I’m always losing them.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “I’m always in a different country for Christmas, so I’m always adapting to traditions abroad.”
His hope for Ryan in HSM3: “That he takes a break from dance steps. Maybe join the basketball team and shoot the winning goal. That would be fabulous.”

As always thanks for YouTubing that zvkg. I watched it and I have to say that I’m not proud of it. I have to wonder even if we aren’t supporting the source site by watching this garbarge (and that’s what this is) on YouTube, are we even if an indirect way still supporting this obnoxious explotitive behavor by watching it at all? My cousin who watched the video with me made that point. I don’t mean to get on a soapbox here, its just something to think about I guess.
I have to say if anyone thinks Vanessa or her family (I have seen the whole family be called “Trash” and “fame seeking husks) ENJOY that then something inside of them is broken.

#439 - definitely…I think they both feel lucky to have each other, but yeah, I think when you see the way Zac looks at her at times, he seems to look at her with an awe like “wow, I can’t believe you’re mine”…and that is the sweetest thing. That’s one reason I’ve felt so positive about their love…I’ve seen people married for 40+ years look at each other that way. :-) And, welcome…feel free to talk about V with all of us here anytime.

Loved reading everyone’s Christmas wishes/memories. I know I’m late to the party as usual lately but I’ll share mine in case anyone still cares to read them and because I just like thinking about it. :-)
Wishes - for family and friends to have good health and either enjoy all the love they’ve been blessed with or find the love that they’ve been looking for…just being happy in life…also, just for a bright new year ahead full of possibilities and more great memories. Less generally, I have no idea. I really want HSM 2 but I’ll be buying it for myself the day it comes out, so beyond that, who knows…perhaps plane tickets to various destinations…LOL.
Memories - I have always loved decorating our Christmas tree with Christmas music playing while doing it and sitting back and drinking hot cocoa afterward just enjoying the tree all lit up with no other lights on. Also, we try to have a new ornament for each year so you can look back on them and remember something about that particular year like one we have of a puppy from ‘04 when we got our sweetie, Bella. We also go to a candlelight Christmas Eve service, which I’ve always found to be special to me. Also love watching holiday movies, particularly It’s a Wonderful Life and White Christmas and in more recent years, The Santa Clause movies and Love Actually. And, we have something called a Trail of Lights where I live and a tradition of spinning under this huge light tree with lots of other people, so that’s something fun each year.

Even though I love hearing about everyone putting their tree up I can’t seem to find the energy needed to tear out everything and do mine this year. But the biggest problem is I have so many amazing ornaments that will not be seen. I have tons of angel ornaments! For several years now I have always found a new one each year. Maybe that is the problem this time, I haven’t seen any outstanding angel ornaments.

Narf, honey, I think the answer to your question (#443) is simple I’m afraid those creeps WANT to create upset. The more dramatic the picture the more it sells I’m sure. Then they wonder why people have so little respect for them.

Milky, to be honest with you, I’m filipino myself and understood everything you said. Your impression of me is irrelevant because you do not know me from Adam.
I feel that the hardships in the Philippines is valid and I completely sympathize with all the problems there. But I do not agree with you, however on the subject you’re referring to. I agree that there may be some that are desparate enough to marry outside their means, but they don’t all go for “white men”. My dad is filipino and had an affair with one of them. Again, he’s not white. I think that they just want to marry anyone with money to get out of the situation they’re in. Not target “white men”.
I also have alot of friends that are half/flips who’s parents married because their “white father” was stationed in PI due to the military. The filipino women were wealthy, yet they fell in love with the soldiers and ended up being married.
So you posting that question on a half/flip thread is awkard at best and I will not retract my comment. You should ask that question to an actual woman that has had that experience and yes, face to face… because to some, I can guarantee that your question is borderline insulting and racial.
As I posted one other time I remember George Clooney saying how some of these paps will just try to provoke a celebrity because they want to get an unfavorable reaction from them. That way they will have this sensational type pic of the much loved star that will show how “awful” or what a “diva” they truly are in real life. Then they will be on a whole new kick and start posting some new lie.
As in Vanessa’s video it shows her mom getting upset and making a good point, “you have your pictures so go away” but here the guy is just continually snapping pictures. Why? Because he sees Gina getting upset. It’s awful, as someone pointed out, Vanessa isn’t doing ANYTHING just walking with her mom and sister after shopping. The guy has the pictures—more than one—and yet he keeps snapping away, what does he think is going to be different in the next pictures except a possible reaction. You can hear that Vanessa is a little upset and I’m surprised the guy didn’t try to start something about that. You know, Vanessa and mom get into big fight! She’s trying to get her mom and sister out of the way since they are getting upset which will cause some(I can hear it now) say she likes to have her picture taken since she is just letting them take her picture while getting her family out of the picture. What is she suppose to do? I’m sure she feels like she is between a rock and a hard place. If she tries to hide from the paps they say something about that if she tries to just let them take the pictures while she zones them out her mom is upset. I’m sure she was fearful that her mom was going to lose it like her dad did. AND lastly, if she get mad at the paps(especially like X17) then who know what kind of trash they will write about her. And I think that is what really worries her the most so she just tries to go along with the flow. Remember how she told Jared “Don’t write anything bad about me”? I think she is doing the best she can. I’m sure if Brad and Angie knew how to make the paps quit, they would have done it. JLo said in a recent interview to make them stop you just don’t let them get the picture…you wears hats, etc…JLo, did you ever think that you are just not in such big demand these days as when you and Ben were together? Zac and Vanessa have done the hats, sunglasses and everything but nobody cares they still want to get their pictures. As long as everyone knows it is them, that’s all that matters to these people.
Darn it! In my response to #442 I meant to say “Maybe you should try asking for a heart.” Instead I just repeated what she said. I hate when my wit moves faster then my fingers can type. *sigh* It’s such a curse.

I feel you. I don’t even like going to x17. I really hate that place. But I know we can’t stop people from going there. At least with converting it to youtube, X17 isn’t getting that much hits and not making off that much money. Youtube probably, but they’re not the ones paying x17 to take videos of her. I’m just hoping that the less hits x17 has, the more they realize that maybe they should back off a little. you can’t imagine how much i shudder whenever I go to that site, and seeing Van’s and her family’s face is even more of a turn off. once i click on that realplayer that automatically downloads their video…I hightail out of there, I don’t even try to read what they wrote anymore.

I have agreed with you all along with Milky. I tried to have an open mind and since I was not filipino I thought I’d let you handle it since you are. But I admit, when I first read the post made by Milky, I felt it sounded racist and my gut feeling was she was trying to start trouble. I know a lot of men around here married women from the Philippines when they were stationed there in the service. It doesn’t mean they didn’t marry for love and I don’t think the women in the Philippines just go for white men just to have someone to marry who will get them out of the country. I think THAT idea is racist. I understand the situation of poverty but a lot of women—and men—will marry to better themselves in ALL countries—especially where there are servicemen. I don’t know what I am talking about but the post did seem racist to me too.
