Matthew Perry is Zac Efron… Really!

Matthew Perry will play a grown-up version of Zac Efron in the upcoming teen comedy 17, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

17 will be directed by Burr Steers and produced by Hairspray’s Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot. Leslie Mann will play Perry’s wife, reportedly named Scarlett.

The film follows a middle-age father who wakes up to find he’s 17 again. In order to be close to his children, he enrolls in the same school as them.

Production begins early December 2007. That’s next month!

What, you don’t see the physical resemblance between Zac and Matthew?

sadly, zac efron is the star of the movie and they wanted an adult who wasn’t as big a star… i mean, matthew perry is great but they could’ve hired an actor who isn’t as well known! It’s bit insulting for perry, really.. poor guy.

Despite the fact that this movie idea is not original (come on, “13 Going on 30″), I really hope this can be an amazing opportunity for Matthew Perry. He is a great comedy actor and I wish all the best for his career.

And this movie will also have Leslie Mann, who is an AMAZING actress. I hope she can be nominated at the award season for her great work on “Knocked Up”.

i do remember seeing a very young matthew perry in a 1989 movie called “she’s out of control” and really no resemblance to zac efron

first off I love Zac and Mathew I think they are both great actors. Zac is hot and Mathew is halerious! Plus leslie just cracks me up.. So I am deffinatly excited for this movie!
