Now only does Zac Efron need a new belt, it seems like he needs new shoes too!
The 20-year-old High School Musical star was spotted wearing quite the homely-looking pair of shoes while out in Beverly Hills on Monday. Calling Vanessa Hudgens! Zac needs a nice, new pair of kicks… and don’t forget the belt!
OK! reports that Zac recently got his hair cut and dyed: “He was getting his hair cut for a production,” one witness revealed. “And the producers were making him color it. Someone from the production was with Zac, guiding the stylists through it.” According to the witness, they even brought a color sample — a darker brown than fans are used to seeing on the young star’s adorable head — that they’re trying to match.”

Also, I know that this isn’t exactly a HSM related thread, but I just have one question, does anyone know if there will be like a HSM 2 remix DVD? Because the extended edition came out here today and when I looked at the cover it seem to be only one disc and not that much extra material, and I really want that extra scene with Gabi and Taylor but it doesn’t seem to be on it so that makes me wonder if they’ll make another one because I don’t want to buy this one if there will be another one. Well, I realised that’s a lot of rambling but I’m just curies if anyone knows.
Hmmmm . . . darker hair? I don’t think so. If anything it looks lighter. Maybe Matthew is going to have his hair lightented instead of Zac going darker.

The DVD that came out here in Latinoamerica doesn’t have any new scenes of the movie, just the Humu… one.
It contains music videos, and all the rehearsals clips without the “You are the music in me” of Troy and Gabriella.
And I got to think that it’s the same one that it’s coming out in USA, but I could be wrong.
Knowing Disney they probably are going to come with “Remix edition of HSM2″ later, so that everyone that love HSM have to buy this new one too, just like with the first one, this is all about making money.

Madlen, The two months I was there was over christmas and I loved it! I got to visit Christmas markets in Munich and in Ravensburg near where I was staying. I ended up eating way too much food and drinking lots of that delicious gluehwein. It only snowed twice while I was there, but I was still hapy because it was the first time I had seen snow!
I hope you can come visit one day. McLeod’s Daughters is actually filmed in the state I live in, about an hour’s drive from my house!

I love that show–McLeod’s Daughters. My cable network didn’t carry it so a friend in California recorded the first two seasons and sent them to me.
Those shoes look like ones I saw in a surf shop this summer on the Cape. They’re thick canvas slip-ons, with a distressed look and funky seams. I thought they were really cool and comfy looking. My 18 yr. old son liked them too.
But, honestly, WHO CARES????? He looks great; casual and cool!!!

The season they are filming here right now will be the last one. I’m not too sure why they have cancelled it considering it’s the most popular Australian tv show overseas asides from the Crocodile Hunter.
It is filmed in a very beautiful part of South Australia. If you see any episodes where they go to the big city, that’s Adelaide where I live.

I know sometimes it’s hard not to feel guilty when you see a video like the recent one of Vanessa, but I guess there are little things we can do, most of which it sounds like you are doing already:
- Stop visiting the paparazzi sites which are the most responsible for the in your face photography (e.g. X-17)
- Post more comments on the threads which are news stories, scheduled appearances etc
- Keep positive, a good vibe always helps!

Zac Efron is a tool?
The Zac Efron fan in you is probably ready to not only pelt me with tomatoes but with those rotting pumpkins you have around the house, right? You should, nobody should be allowed to imply, left alone say that the person you admire is a dummy.
Then tell me, why does some of his “fans” thinks and implies that he can’t think for himself. Take for example, his new car - there are actually “fans” out there that says somebody talked him into picking the car (hopefully the new EW interview changed that, but I highly doubt it). The car choice is minor compared to the one aspect of his life that not one of his fans even has any business - his personal life. You know where I’m going with this, right?
Would you believe that Zac Efron has self-proclaimed “fans”, who thinks that he lets a corporation run his personal life? That he has been living this life of pretense for over 2 years because that’s what this corporation wants him to do - pretend to be with someone romantically or else the paychecks will stop coming? That his real love for another is being sacrificed for work? I mean, really? I know he’s professional but doesn’t he know there’s a line between his personal life and his professional one?
Do you think he’s that stupid?
Do you think he’s brainless just because his decisions, actions and reactions do not match or go with the agenda YOU have as a Zac Efron “fan”?
Are you even a fan if you think someone is too dumb to live his own life?
One would think that a fan would be respectful towards the person they admire - respect his choices, respect his space. One would THINK.
Some people needs to back off and start using that jelly-like substance between their ears. And I’m not talking about Zac.
Maybe now you know who deserves the pelting more.
This is coming from someone who’s not even really a Zac Efron fan.

Thanks Steph! I used to learn the piano but I didn’t like it very much. My brother got the musical talent in our family. He plays both bass and normal guitar, writes his own melodies and can play something back after only hearing it without having the sheet music in front of him!
As for the singing, that’s one thing I’m not very good at. I can get the rhythm of the song but staying in tune and getting the pitch right is beyond me! Trust me, be glad that I write lyrics and don’t sing them :)

Kgg, I read that on the Vanash website and I agree with it 100%. I can never understand how people who call themselves fans can think some of the things they do about Zac. Being a fan to me means supporting that person in all of their endeavours, whether that be professional or personal and whether or not you might not actually agree with it.

As after-school jobs go, Zac Efron’s is shaping up to be more lucrative than most.
After months of playing coy and holding out for approval of a final script, the Disney star has at long last signed on to reprise his tween heartthrob role in High School Musical 3 for a $3 million payday, per Entertainment Weekly.
The 20-year-old’s allowance for the kid-friendly trilogy is more substantial than his fellow East Highers and his signing completes the alignment of the HSM stars.
Neither Efron nor Disney has commented—or is ever likely to—on the report of the seven-figure salary.
For weeks it’s been reported that Efron, along with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, were all seeking pay hikes for HSM3, which, unlike its TV-movie predecessors, is targeting a theatrical release.
All three stars have publicly maintained that they would be back for the installment, which director Kenny Ortega has said will focus on the gang’s senior year and include the requisite prom scenes.
Efron was one of the last Wildcat holdouts to complete negotiations, apparently waiting to for the right amount and the perfect screenplay.
“If we all agree on a final script, then there’s nothing that is going to hold us back from doing it,” he said.
Earlier this month, both Hudgens and Tisdale confirmed they had signed on for another round of song-and-dance shenanigans, though declined to confirm reports of a hefty payday of their own.
Then again, they didn’t deny them.
“We don’t talk about our income, but Disney’s great!” Tisdale told reporters at the American Music Awards.
Cameras roll on HSM3 in March, with Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel also due back.
News of Efron’s big payday comes after he proved his big-screen mettle in this year’s Hairspray and was attached to channel Kevin Bacon in a remake of Footloose. He’s also got a brand-new gig to work on before he resumes High School Musical duties.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Perry has signed on to join Efron in the Big-like comedy 17. The film centers on an average father (Perry) who wakes up to find he’s once again a teenager (Efron). In an effort to befriend his own children, he enrolls in the their high school and passes himself off as a new student.
Production on the film kicks off next month.

You’re right on the money. Besides, I still don’t understand how can some people claim that they “love” Zac and Vanessa, but they keep asking for more and more pictures of them. Which translates into them having dozens of paps following their every move. I don’t think Zac and Vanessa enjoy that, and as a true fan, you should want for them to be left alone, because I’m sure that’s what they want.

Now, the problem with us telling these people to stop with the “MORE ZANESSA, JJ” is they never READ! They don’t bother reading any of the post they just jump on to say jj they want pictures of Zanessa. So, that being said, trying to tell them to go watch some of these great videos that Ellie suggests will never reach them either. AND last but not least, these people don’t want old pictures (you know, after 3 days they are ancient)for them to believe that Zac and Vanessa are STILL together they have to have a picture from last night and it possible this morning too!
But think about it, some of these people believed after they saw them together on his birthday or the Fredericks of Hollywood charity event and read a rag magazine’s report that they broke up actually believed it. So, with some people there is never going to be enough.

Hi Levi, yep, it’s very sunny! Since it’s almost summer it’s getting very warm. Today had been especially warm and the temperature is going to be over 30 degrees (about 100 fahrenheit I think) for the next week or so.
I hope someone puts Ashley’s performance on youtube, because that is the only way I’ll be able to see it!

School finishes in the middle of December then goes back at the end of January, usually after Australia Day on the 26th. It’s our long break, we start school years at the beginning of the year, instead of the middle. Of course, I’ve been on holidays since early November because University holidays are much longer. I don’t have to go back til the beginning of March next year.

Levi, having a sunny Christmas is wonderful! We usually have it outdoors, eat lots of fresh seafood, go swimming, play backyard versions of cricket and Australian Rules Football etc. Sometimes is is a little too hot, but apart from that, having Christmas in summer is a good thing!
Oh, and over my break I work part-time at a store, but apart from that just the usual things you do in summer: go to the beach, the movies, shopping, hang with friends and of course, hang out on here!
wow christmas sounds wonderful. ours here is either raining, windy, powerout, almost never snows on christmas. but i mean its still really fun cause you get to wake up, sit by the fire, drink warm hot chocolate and open gifts. and of course the smell of the christmas tree. its just not always the weather you were hoping for, although the poweroutage was actually really fun, we had a blast! are we like the only ones on here lol
I think we are Levi, everyone else is either sleeping or at work in V-L’s case. Your christmas sounds fun too, having a real christmas tree is one thing I would like to be able to have at christmas. They don’t grow here, so all we have is a plastic one. The christmas I spent in Germany I got to help pick out a proper tree and that was so much fun!

I have seen HSM2 so many times I couldn’t even begin to tell you the number. Sad isn’t it! I have both of them TiVo’d (that’s recorded on my satellite receiver, in case they don’t have TiVo in Oz Ellie ;-) ) I even have the popup versions. LOL
Now one of my boys thinks Hannah Montana is hot. So, if a movie comes out, I may have to see that. lol

Levi, I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen HSM2! I think I watched it every time it was on in the first week it premiered on Disney Channel Australia and I have a copy of it on my laptop which I’ve watched so many times! I’m getting the dvd when it comes out, plus a collector’s edition which includes the first HSM and the concert, so I’ll have lots of viewing options to choose from!
We don’t have tivo over here yet Dee. We have something called IQ, which is a less advanced version of tivo, but I don’t have it at my house yet.
OK Ellie, we use an esky at my kids’ baseball team parties.
I’m spoiled by tivo. I record all my favorite shows (the entire season) I don’t even have to watch comercials any more. LOL

Levi, it comes out here next Wednesday but I’m not sure that it’s going to have all the extra things the U.S release will have. I know that it has already been released in some European and South American countries but while they have the bloopers, they don’t have any of the deleted scenes.

Yep, I made them V-L! Anzac cookies are traditionally made for Anzac Day (which happens to be the day before my birthday) which is the day that we remember all those Australians who have fought for our country. Anzac stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corp and the day it is celebrated (April 25) is the day that in 1915, Australian troops started fighting in the Gallipoli campaign of World War 1.
Sorry for the history lesson, my Great-Grandfather fought in that campaign so Anzac day is special to me and it helps that the cookies are so delicious!

Yes, he’s getting lots of media attention, but it’s not for anything negative. He’s a grounded, nice, down-to-earth kid who spends his time surfing, riding a skateboard, playing computer games and hanging out with his pals and girlfriend.
If he were in the news for DUI, snorting coke, shooting heroine, stumbling out of the Viper club at 3 am, I would agree with you that he’s overrated and getting attention for doing nothing. But, then, maybe you would respect him for that.
3. The majority of Zac Efron and Vanessa fans are not tween-agers. They are mature people, who have followed his career since he was in Summerland, and they range in age from teens to baby boomers (between 50 and 60). Why does he have such a fan base? Because he’s decent and kind and never says mean things about other people the way you just did.
4. As for being sexy. Everyone’s taste differs. But, I’ll wager that every female between 12 and 60 who’s ever seen Zac Efron in a recent movie or TV interview knows raw sexuality when they see it. Combine that with his kind heart, and sense of humor and you have the perfect package. As Zac would say, BOOMSHAKALAKA!!!
5. Zac seeking media attention? That is the number one indication that you don’t know the guy. Do your research before you make negative comments. He hates the media attention, especially the paparazzi following him.
Since you took time out of your day to stop here and write your negative comment, I hope you will take the time to read my positive one.
Zac Efron has his head on straight and he will succeed whether naysayers such as you want him to or not. So, my advice to you is that if seeing pictures of him makes you sick, scroll past any pictures you see of him here and go elsewhere. Because his millions of fans love seeing his photos, and hearing news of what he’s doing.

Very well put, Malia! You know, #330, it really doesn’t bother me that you don’t see the “zexyness”…to each his own. And, I can get how one might be annoyed with seeing someone again and again in the media…I have felt that way about plenty of people…people, mind you, who have been basically just trashing their lives leaving me wondering why in the world we were giving them so much attention for such crap. But, even being annoyed with those, I just skipped over what I didn’t want to see (on tv, in mags, on the web). What I don’t appreciate from your post is the reference to Zac as a loser. What about him screams “loser” to you? Is it his history of being a straight A student? The fact that he’s not getting arrested, not drugging it, not spending loads of money on ridiculous things so that he can go bankrupt in a year, etc? Is it his healthy, committed, long-term relationship with one woman? His strong family ties? Or could it be all of his performances in television and movies, several of which have earned him awards and award nominations? I don’t know…I kind of see him winning in life here…but maybe that’s just me and his million other fans. :-)
And, the comment about him doing anything for media attention is just ridiculous. Oh, yes, he’ll do anything…like picking up food…oh, wait, but don’t we all need that to live? Showing up at red carpet events…well, that’s like me attending meetings and conference calls…it’s called my job. And, how about getting gas for his car…oh, but he should be unlike most of the country and walk everywhere instead…and playing basketball with some friends at a neighborhood church lot…wow! The nerve of some people! Pah! Would you like him to become a recluse? He’s 20…that would be very, very sad. And, there are already some things he doesn’t do so much anymore because he can’t enjoy them in peace…but yeah…he’s totally seeking the media…sure.
Anyway, all I’m saying is if you don’t like him or enjoy his work, fine. If he’s not your cup of tea, fine. But, no need to namecall or make ridiculous accusations. That just screams immaturity from an “anti-teen”…gotta love it.

Ellie - loved your latest stuff…and I love the olden-day/parchment look of that new wallpaper. Your bbq seemed fun. I still love hearing about Christmas in other parts of the world…very cool. I think I should like to go swimming on Christmas at least once. :-) It’s not impossible. I remember one year here (Texas, USA) where I did do some swimming still in Dec. but that’s not the norm…it still gets colder here, but I usually am in the Northeast part of the country for the holidays so it’s usually pretty chilly.

The thing with these naysayers and well… just plain haters, is that they don’t take the time to comment… they obtain their judgements of people and their criticisms from their shallow brains and hearts and as a result, come up with posts that are so lame. On the other hand, you’ve got the intellectual naysayers/haters that talk about issues that are not true,i.e homosexuality or borderline racial comments.. with the motive in mind to cause an argument or a fight which can only lead us to believe that they are simply angry people who are taking their volatile manner out in cyberspace as a release. LOL
All in all, no matter how many times we’ll prove to them that Zac is opposite to the brutal criticisms that he receives daily from these shallow-minded people, they’ll still be here… until they either mature and/or learn that love is more productive than hate :)

A thought just occurred to me whenever there is a Vanessa/Zac/Zanessa thread we inevitably get a post saying “he/she is such an attention *****!” Whenever someone responds to that and points out that they are always doing every day things like getting gas, or going to the gym or whatever. The poster who makes the charge NEVER returns to back up what they’re saying, to give counterevidence. Obviously because they can’t. But it always strikes me funny how people are quick to show they really don’t know what they’re talking about.
Or maybe they’re on to something maybe Zac REALLY is the only person on Earth who doesn’t fill up his gas tank because the gas gauge is closing on “E” or buys himself lunch because he’s hungry. He does those things for the glory and the glory only. *rolls eyes*

I was perusing YouTube the other day and came across a “Zashley fanfic” and there was a pic of Zac/Ashley and Zac was wearing the plaid board shorts he wears in the pics with V in Hawaii. Just wondering if it was the same trip, if you know.
Zac fan, thanks also for the blog link. I enjoyed it but do you feel it’s a little too “polished” to be Zac’s writing? It seems like the work of a professional. Now nothing against Zac, I know he’s smart and in all likelihood is a good writer, but…..Maybe a writer interviewed him for it and he/she punched up Zac’s words a bit? If it really IS Zac’s writing…damn, that guy has a future as a screenwriter if this acting thing doesn’t work out! LOL.
Steph - that definitely makes sense and if they ever do look, it would be great for them to see that there are positive, sensible folks out there. :-)
Troy - yes, it is funny…guess you don’t have to risk feeling too bad about your ignorance though if you just post and run. And, oh, the glory…haven’t you seen all the photos of Zac running up and down the parking lots with his hands up in the air like he’s Rocky? ;-)

troy, no worries…Zac is anything but an attention *****. we all know that, and WE are the ones who matter, right?
I mean, he strikes me as just a guy wanting to earn a living doing something super fun and creative. He’s hooked up with Disney for a couple projects now which propelled him into the next stratosphere, for a while anyway, and he’s enjoying the ride and keeping his head on straight.

#382 ghj - glad you enjoyed the blog link. :-) And, of course, I can’t say anything for sure, but I think he did write them. He did say somewhere that English was his favorite subject. Also, the writing seems in line with how he discusses things in interviews. And, he’s a Libra, for what it’s worth, and I know it’s a generalization but one of the Libra descriptions is related to creativity/skill in arts like drama, writing, etc. In terms of it being polished, it’s possible the web editor may have touched things up a bit I suppose, but I also think that Zac, being the perfectionist type, probably read, re-read, and edited his own blog entries before feeling comfortable handing them over. :-)

I’m pretty sure that Zac wrote the Cosmo Girl blog. He also wrote one about graduation and promoting HSM1 in Australia. Not to mention, he has a great imagination. One of his school assignments was to write an essay about himself. He wrote a fictional account of being raised by wolves and brought to earth by a spaceship. His teacher got really angry and sent him to detention! Also, I read an AOL IM he did, and it was clear he’s a good writer filled with wit.
