OlderViolet Affleck Loves Her Swing Set
Jennifer Garner helps daughter Violet, almost 2, swing into action at a Central Park playground in New York City on Friday morning.

Jen, 35, returned to work yesterday on her Broadway play Cyrano de Bergerac after the 19-day writers strike.
“I am so happy that it’s over,” Jennifer told Access Hollywood“It was devastating to miss doing the show we had just opened. The audience was having the best time and to just, ‘OK! Now we are not doing it for the next couple of weeks,’ was the strangest feeling. Especially over Thanksgiving, people would be waving their tickets in my face on the street and saying, ‘I came here to New York to see you do this play.’ I just was kind of like ‘I wish I could do it for you right here.’”
And the Affleck-Garners are already in Christmas mode!
“Yeah, we will do a tree. We are already busy making ornaments,” Jen laughed. “I am not good at it but you know, we have glue and glitter and construction paper. What else do you need?”

It is so disgusting to see these celebs shove pacifiers in the mouths of children who are waayyyyy to old to have them.
It’s a disgrace to see a two year old with a pacifier in her mouth. Celebs are very lazy parents. What they are teaching their children is to always have something in your mouth. Which might lead to overeating, and/or drug use.

Don’t be silly. Shoving a pacifier in the mouth of a toddler, is not a deterrent from thumb sucking. IT IS LAZINESS ON THE PART OF THE PARENT.

Sad to say but every photos i’ve looked at only has VIolet and Jen. What happened to the dad?
Pretty little girl, but shame on Mommy for taking her out to the park and playing with her. Doesn’t she know that because she’s a “star” she should hide her daughter inside in the dark, because the media is going to follow her. For shame.
As far as the pacifier, I hate to see children walking and playing with them stuffed in their face. But I have yet to see Violet with one other than when she’s in her stroller, which logic tells me she’s allowed to have it to relax and nap. Nothing wrong with that, in my book.
All of you criticizing her, I sure hope you don’t “take the edge off” occassionally with a glass of wine or a cigarette.

Yes, I guess celebs that allow thier children out of the house to do ‘normal’ things like play in the park are nothing but pr who*res. I would think keeping your children cooped up and having to hide them would give them issues. Maybe that is why some of these celeb kids grow up and get into trouble. They finally get to be out of the house and go buckwild!
They are celebs, there will always be paps around, maybe if the kids get used to it, it will be less scary for them. Unfortunately, the paps are a fact of life for them. It’s a shame their innocent kids have to suffer.
I think Jen is a great mom, and Violet seems like a very happy child.

As for “now you see her and now you don’t”, it really goes to show you how shallow and ridiculous you are as a person. Maybe this was the first time she got to take Violet to the park because she’s been doing other things. Or maybe Violet has been ill. Or maybe they’ve been spending time indoors making Christmas ornaments out of glitter, glue and construction paper.
I hate nitpicking at everyone, but you guys are just too ridiculous for words. Give you a two second window into someone’s life and you think you know them, their intent, everything about them. Doesn’t say much for your own life if thats your assumption.

I love the Afflecks, I think they are raising thier child right. Maybe the reason you always see Jen and Violet together is because she is actually raising her child!! Most hollywood parents shove the kids off on the nanny. I’m not saying Jen doesn’t have a nanny, I’m sure she does, but she has made it a priority to be the PRIMARY caregiver to her child. Oh the horrors, Jen takes Violet to the park to play like NORMAL children.
That said, I agree there is an element of PR to it from time to time. It is the world the celebs live in. Everyone plays the game, including Jen, Brangelina, TomKat, etc., even with the kids. I’m not taking away from them as parents, but look at all of us looking at the pics and pretending we know them and forming personal opinions of them (me included) based on thier personal lives. Hollywood is all about the money and attracting people to see your movies or watch your tv show. Relating to the general public at large is a great way to do it!
And to those of you that said she is doing it because her play has started up again…do you remember a little holiday that just happened? I THINK it is called Thanksgiving??? Maybe they were taking the opportunity of having time off, to go spend time with family. Gee ya think???

Yeah, I’d prefer to have a child suck on a pacifier than the thumb. Not a big fan of the pacifier, but I know children (older than two) who suck on their thumbs and their teeth are messed up AND their thumbs are jacked up. AND I’ve seen adults who have remaining scars because they used to suck their thumb. So I’d definitely prefer the pacifier over the thumb sucking.
So adorable these two. When Ben is with them you ******** grumble about that. When he is not, still you complain. I am so glad these people go about their lives regardless as to what you say of think. Keep doing what you think is best for your own lousy situation. What a marvel idea. Considering that Violet only has the pacifier when she’s in the stroller, maybe she got upset about being bundled up so snuggly and needed her paci to calm down.
