OlderAngelina Jolie is 33rd Smartest in Hollywood
Angelina Jolie recently made Entertainment Weekly’s “The 50 Smartest People in Hollywood” list, coming in at #33. She’s one of the youngest actresses to make the cut with 58-year-old Meryl Streep at #6, 45-year-old Jodie Foster at #30, 38-year-old Cate Blanchett at #45, and 28-year-old Sarah Polley at #49. Here’s what EW had to say:
Angelina, 32, is smart because… “she’s discovered the real value of fame. While keeping fanboys happy with films like Beowulf, she uses her celebrity superpowers for good. Continues to travel the globe as a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, the world media in tow, but this year she put her values on screen, too, delivering one of the best performances of her career as Mariane Pearl, widow of slain journalist Daniel Pearl, in June’s A Mighty Heart.”
Angie also picked up the Good Penmanship Award because “she recently wrote for The Economist, alongside fellow contributors the Dalai Lama and French president Nicolas Sarkozy.”

LOL! Girlfriend, go read the “Iliad”. Paris shot Achilles in his heel, which was the one place on his body that was vulnerable to weapons. Hence the phrase “Achilles heel”. Didn’t you see all those arrows just bouncing off his chest?

The laugh’s on you, honey. They are a TEAM. Do you understand the concept? The sitcom hag didn’t, and that’s why she’s sitting home alone, manless and childless. I imagine you’re doing the same, which is why you identify with her so much.
Brad loves being with Angie and the kids, that is why he is rarely away from them and why he works more efficiently these days..so he can spend more time with his family. I’ve been a fan for almost 12 years, and I have never seen him happier. Real Brad fans are happy for him and love Angie as his partner.

Actually, I am familiar with the term and I get that the shot was ‘fatal’. The point is that Paris couldn’t take Helen’s husband, so Hector had to handle it. Hector had to face down Achilles after killing his cousin. And Achilles had to face the King of Troy after killing and desecrating Hector’s body by dragging him. Paris didn’t have to face anything or anyone, and while he did kill his brother’s killer, he didn’t do it face to face and add to it that Briseis was distracting Achilles, which was probably the only reason why Paris had the clear shot.
Paris was a wuss, period. All he did was whine to Helen.

Oh, absolutely. And I’ll never understand why papa Priam didn’t throw him and Helen the hell out. No king in his right mind would risk his entire kingdom on a worthless son who ran off with another king’s wife.
That’s always been my biggest problem with “The Iliad”. Homer made up some great characters (Achilles, Hector, etc.), but the whole story line is ridiculous.
