Angelina Jolie is 33rd Smartest in Hollywood
Angelina Jolie recently made Entertainment Weekly’s “The 50 Smartest People in Hollywood” list, coming in at #33. She’s one of the youngest actresses to make the cut with 58-year-old Meryl Streep at #6, 45-year-old Jodie Foster at #30, 38-year-old Cate Blanchett at #45, and 28-year-old Sarah Polley at #49. Here’s what EW had to say:
Angelina, 32, is smart because… “she’s discovered the real value of fame. While keeping fanboys happy with films like Beowulf, she uses her celebrity superpowers for good. Continues to travel the globe as a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, the world media in tow, but this year she put her values on screen, too, delivering one of the best performances of her career as Mariane Pearl, widow of slain journalist Daniel Pearl, in June’s A Mighty Heart.”
Angie also picked up the Good Penmanship Award because “she recently wrote for The Economist, alongside fellow contributors the Dalai Lama and French president Nicolas Sarkozy.”
Topping the “Smartest List” is director/writer/producer Judd Apatow of The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Superbad fame. Click inside for the full list…

There’s alot of shadiness about the later years of Tom and Nicole’s relationship that we will never know. I am not defending Nicole, because as a mother of teenagers myself, I do agree that she should be closer to her children right now. The thing is, I really think she can’t, or isn’t allowed to be. I think somehow Tom got the upper hand in the divorce agreement, and part of that must have been for him to be able to raise Conner and Bella as Scientologist.
I had to do some research into Scientology for a paper, and one of the things I learned was that if you have ever been involved with Sci, and you leave it, then you must accept that you cease to exist for the rest of your family who may be still be in it.
There are alot of people who have left it who have very negative things to say about Scientology, and the accounts I read kept saying that the reason so many people stay in it is because they don’t want to be cut off from their family. Of course, the Sci camp says they are all just malcontents, but I really think it is more than that.
I think Nicole got cut off from her children, and there’s nothing she can do about it. I am also sure that when they rarely do get to visit her, there is a Scientology rep there always to be sure that she doesn’t do or say anything to them they feel is subversive.
When Tom called Nicole to congratulate her on her Oscar win, I am sure that was done because he knew the world was looking and expecting him to do that.
If you do some reading and checking about Scientology, the outer levels of it are just a bit “out there”, but as you read further into it, the deeper levels are something right out of the Twilight Zone.
All this may be the reason Nicole is looking more and more ragged and fragile these days. It has to be killing her inside.

Kidman just recently admitted to not seeing her kids very much. AND said that they don’t even call her mom, they call her Nicole and she gets after them about it. NOw that is sad.
Thanks to Guli and Missouri Fan for posting and reposting the link to Cliniqua’s article.
Cliniqua…whereever you are, congratulations on your published article…hopefully you can provide much needed balance to that publication.
Miss your postings and energy here on jareds.
Back Stage: In your Oscar acceptance speech, you thanked your mother for giving up her dream of becoming an actor. Could you ever leave acting behind?
Jolie: Oh, absolutely. I’ve been really, really lucky to have a career as an artist where I’ve been able to have the roles where I’ve expressed a lot and been able to play all different types of women. And I think a lot of actors still feel there’s a lot inside them that they want to communicate or something they have yet to discover. And I don’t feel that as much now as I did when I was younger. I feel like there’s a lot to discover about myself as an adult and as a mother but not as much as an actor. There aren’t those roles where I feel I’m the one who needs to do it. I start to read things now, and I think, “Somebody else would be better at this.” Oftentimes I’ll get a call, and they’ll say, “This other person would really like to do this role.” And I’m the first to say, “Well, then they should.” Because if they really want to, then that’s who should do it.

Thanks 4Q for this article,I`m still in wow that brad and Angie talk in the same way, they are great couple,Angie is saying pretty much what Brad told in BBC1 interview about leaving projects for younger people, seems they both are ready to quit or working fewer that before.I like when I can find this kind of things in their interviews where obviously they don`t show any divide between each other`s words.they talk in the same way and on same purpose and act in the same way too,and this what we can call true relationship and true couple.
HIIIIIIIIIII fans,happy saturdy.
and We already knew what a smart woman she is,BTW ITA with whoever told Brad should be on list too. :)
Her life reminds me of The portrait of Dorian Grey. Sometime soon this is all going to crumble.

I hope you are referring to the discussion on Nicole and not Angie.
If you are Angie, then I have to wonder what your motivation for saying that might be. I guess she just has too much, too many wonderful things in her life for people to just simply be happy for her.
Says more about a person’s own life than it does Angie’s.
If you are referring to Nicole, then please disregard.
for the person who thinks that “constitution protects our rights” in the US.. I have a bridge to sell you ;)
Oh, and where is JenJen on the list? Or Tommy Cruise?
sorry, that should read “if you are referring to Angie”, not “if you are Angie”, lol.
Sorry fans I `m using Laptop which I`m not used to it sorry for mistakes in my previous post.
Have to go,enjoy your weekend.
The Haters have the most IDIOTIC logic; because if… “Angelina didn’t mention Brad in an intervie; they are breaking up and if she mention Brad, she is using and riding Brad’s coattail” and if “a movie of Angelina is a SUCCESS it’s not an Angelina movie, but if the movie is a flop it’s an Angelina movie”.
The Jenloonies are as DUMB as their Idol Maniston!! Pathetic Fools!!

In order for the fans to remain delusional, they cherry pick those stories they feel support their fantasy. It’s quite sad really…..and scary.
d.j @ 12/01/2007 at 10:51 am Jen Aniston should be #1 on that list.

And if you think people in other parts of the world have even half the rights Americans have here at home, then you are sadly misinformed.
The things and places that finally made Angie grow up and stop directing all her energy into self-destructive acts just happened to fall outside of the borders of the United States.
In the minds of her detractors she deserves to be punished for that for all eternity, I guess.
wow way to go clini.heheeh some JPs.fans doesn’t lyk cliiqua.lafen my cute azz.i just love her HUVANESTON EFFECT!
That was a great interview with Angelina concerning her roles. It5 was informative.

wheres jen jen on the list or brad
***************************************
I always figured Angelina as being smarter than Brad, but smart enough not to flaunt it.
As for jen jen, she’s probaby #10,000-something.
That was a great, great interview. Thanks for posting qqqq.
Ben Affleck? What? How is Natalie Portman not on this list?
Way to go Angie!
Back Stage: Growing up the daughter of actors, was it a forgone conclusion you’d enter the business?
Angelina Jolie: It might have been the opposite. In some ways it was good, because I remember being very conscious of how human and regular actors were; even though my dad was a successful actor, he was very much a regular person. I suppose the one good thing about being raised in it is that you don’t have the illusion of actors being magic or special. You have a real sense that it’s just work.
____
She’s trying to tell you people that she’s just a person and nothing special just because shes’;s an actress.
Back Stage: Is it true you don’t have a publicist?
Jolie: It is. I don’t have an agent either. I have one manager, and I’ve had him for 10 years. He started as an agent years ago, but he’s been a manager almost as long as I’ve been with him. I tried to have an agent for a few months. And I tried to have a publicist for two days. And neither worked out. I’m very specific about what I like to do, and I’ve been very fortunate that through working it out myself, I can somehow manage something. I’m sure that some people would disagree that I can’t handle publicity properly, but I tend to ignore it.
___
I like this part.
That cliniqua’s plain silly. She’s doing it for Brad and Angelina and to get the truth out? When most of truth in her head is her fantasies? LMAO. If Brad and Angelina knew about her, they’d be embarrassed that a person like that is their fan and might want to look into getting a restraining order. I’m sorry but she gives the rest of the actual sane fans bad name.
