Brad & Angelina Continue New Orleans Housing Efforts
Brad Pitt shares a laugh on Saturday with Janice Porter, whose family had a home in the Lower 9th Ward, in the flood-ravaged neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Angelina Jolie and daughter Zahara were also nearby to lend their support.
Brad is expected to announce more details of his affordable housing “Make it Right” project @ 11AM EST Monday. More than 100 affordable, ecologically sound homes will be built in the coming months. On Nov. 9, at the Clinton Global Initiative in Manhattan, Brad pledged $5 million to the project, challenging others to match his largess.
Cute snippet from the New Orleans Times-Picayune about Brad, Angelina and the kids: “Jolie caught up with Pitt a half-block closer to the river as he was bicycling around the surrealistic site in a gray sweatshirt and cap. He posed for a photograph with an admirer and watched the children splash their feet in a puddle. Then he peddled off.”

Hiya Gerodena— well your video is wonderful and I posted it at JJB’s as well. We also have something else in common, my Dad is from the Black Sea coast from the city called Rize. And I go back to Turkey every summer. Maybe one day you can come and visit me ;-)
Here is the link to your beautiful video again….

Thanks Jared for the new thread and news about B&A in NOLA!!!!
And thanks PT for re-posting the link to the article.
From the previous thread…
I truly admire Brad for his total dedication to helping rebuild a part of NOLA, and I’m really looking forward to all the coverage this week.
I watched AMC’s Brad & Angie double-header last night. Wow! I’ve never seen Troy before. I had only seen bits from Youtube. Now I’m kicking myself for not having seen it at the theater. Definitely going to purchase the DVD.
Gotta go. Take care all. Don’t forget Brad will also be on the Today show with Anne Curry tomorrow (Monday, 12/3).

Doesn’t Maddox have school to go to?
Is this just a weekend trip?
*********************************
They do have a home in New Orleans, and if this is an extended stay, Maddox’s school has a branch in New Orleans so he can keep up with all his school work and he won’t miss out on anything.
People from Chalmette need to STFU…the only reason why their hating BP/AJ giving the 9th Ward help is b/c they can’t STAND black people and anyone giving help to black people the Chalmatians, as we call them, can’t bear it…they hate it!
Keep doing what you will Pitt…help those who can’t help themselves RIGHT NOW!
If the people in Chalmette open up their closed minds, they would see this is a great deal…good for the city and the economy…in the long run. This actually can bring people back to work. B.c. those from Chalmette ain’t gonna try and work where they think is beneath them. People in Chalmette are poor just like the 9th Ward…but the difference the people in Chalmette don’t know their poor…yet they want to talk about the 9th Ward.
Hey, it’s just segregated (KKK) land and some KNOW not to cross or mingle in the other. And that’s why their mad…b/c someone like them (white) is helping someone like us.
Get over it and stop hatin’!!!!!

‘Beowulf’ still king overseas
Film wins foreign box office for third time.
“Beowulf” remained king of the foreign box office, winning for the third straight weekend with $19.4 million at 6,700 playdates in 60 markets.
========================================
Thanks Janice.
And Beowulf is #2 here in the states, which is not bad, not bad at all.
btw with this estimate Beowulf is basically numbers overseas is neck and neck with those in the states.
Hey Guli, way to go from your team Ohio State, I was away from the weekend and I just read the AP Poll and Ohio State is No. 1 and LSU No. 2 and they could play for the national championship, I bet you are on cloud 9 :)
oops I meant “for” and not “from” lol
Wow, you people are brutal. I just have an opinion based on working in a school, and seeing how tough it is for kids who move around a lot. That goes for military kids too. It’s just the facts. Thier kids are still very young. But it WILL be more difficult as they get older and need to have peers and friends to depend on. That being said, I wish them well, cause it won’t be easy.
And sorry, it’s Boston……

“wow I have no right to express my opinion ?”
ral, stop playing the victim please…of course you have a right to express your opinion. Subsequently, others have a right to respond and contradict…do they not have a right to challenge you?? Of course they do…so don’t even go there and don’t be so sensitive just because someone disagreed. And if the manner in which they disagreed with you bothers you…get over it…otherwise don’t post here…that’s life on a public forum. No one is forcing you to post here…you have a choice too…”If you don’t like the heat, get out of the kitchen” 1949, Harry S. Truman, 33rd U.S. President.

So now the opionion is not as a mom but as someone that works in school and know kids that move around…?
Okay.
I don’t work in a school, but i went to a school where some of my friends were children of ambassadors, and they had no problem on travelling… On the contrary, the love it. An this were kids on their 15, 16 years.

You spit BILE and malicious judgment on the Jolie-Pitts and you have the nerve to call the people of here brutal?? YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE!! So if your poor little self don’t want to receive “attacks”, don’t ATTACK people who don’t deserve it like Brad and Angie!!
Okey, DUMBASS??
Nice pictures. They look so real.
I’m watching the second Lara Croft film. I must say that Angelina is stunning to look at in this film. Wow.
Here’s a little info from wikipedia regarding Lara Croft Tom Raider:
Box office
Tomb Raider delivered the largest non-holiday weekend of the year, opening at number one with a towering $47.7M, giving the studio its second-biggest debut ever. It was shown in 3,308 theaters with a gross of $14,430 each. The film also has the largest opening ever for a movie headlined by a woman, surpassing the $40.1M debut of Charlie’s Angels
I think this still stands because I’m not sure if Amy Adams got the top billing for Enchanted (Is it her movie or Patrick Dempsy guy). Even if she got the top billing, the film opened on a holiday 4 day weekend (Thanksgiving). So it doesn’t count. Angelina has had 5 major box office success.
No wonder that posters “ral” and “go sox” like Maniston; because just like her… this F*CKERS love being the Victim!!
Alexanderina @ 12/02/2007 at 6:40 pm Hey Guli, way to go from your team Ohio State, I was away from the weekend and I just read the AP Poll and Ohio State is No. 1 and LSU No. 2 and they could play for the national championship, I bet you are on cloud
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You bet you I am on cloud nine,and everyone who is a Buckeye fan is on cloud nine as well. My worst fear was OSU plays Missouri aka Brad’s old school I really would have been squirming cheering for my Buckeyes! ROTFLMAO! Now I can go hog wild crazy screaming for the national champ game! They are going to announce who we will play in an hour!
How have you been lady? You don’t post much lately. Please keep in touch dear old cyber-friend :-)
Sebastian, I “spit no BILE” or pass MALICIOUS judgement, nor am I hypocritical in any way. I’m not attacking anyone. I SAID, I applaud their efforts!! I was just giving an OPINION about kids being moved around too much. It’s lovely you all know kids who LOVE it, but I know as many who don’t. As I said before, it’s easy for them now….it won’t be once they are in middle or high school. And I don’t swear, Sebastian. Have a little class….
**********************************************
Give her a break, Seb. She wasn’t being malicious or hypocritical. Just because someone expresses a different opinion doesn’t make them malicious or a hypocrite. Just explain the fast calmly — the kids are with their parents, they aren’t being dumped on nannies, etc. — and let it go at that.
oops… “fast” = facts.
Now, this go soc person goes from, just an opinion of a mother of 3 and when she gets thwanked, decides to up her ante and now she works with kids. LOL. Sure you do.
And you worry about your own. Sounds like they’re the ones that need it.
Thanks, Jill. Cool heads need to prevail. I wasn’t trying to be nasty; if you guys took it that way, I apologize. I am not a hater. Sorry if I came across that way.
Oops, go sox person.
Uh, yeah, Observer2, I can be a mother of 3 and work as a school nurse. Is that so hard to believe? Angie works too…..
go sox @ 12/02/2007 at 7:17 pm
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I didn’t say it wasn’t possible. I said that I don’t believe you. When you got smacked around, then you decide to try and make yourself sound like an authority on kids by saying you work with them. When you posted your first warm and fuzzy post it was just as a mother.
I think that you’re full of it.
Believe what you want…..I gave my opinion at the start, based on my experiences, WAY before I was “smacked around”.
Re: go sox @ 12/02/2007 at 6:51 pm #134
I think you are misinterpreting posters as “being brutal”…most of the posters here are very finicky regarding posters who state an “opinion” as if it were “fact”. Your opinion is based on limited observations from your experiences and environment, which does not make it absolute “fact” for every family, for every child.
Either qualify “your facts” or expect to be put on the line by some very savvy posters.
I personally know of a family of five children who range in age from 10 to 18 and they have always moved around internationally from Uganda to Cambodia to Vietnam and more for the last eighteen years. Their father works for the U.N. World Food Bank and their mother is a MD who starts and works AID clinics wherever the father ends up. U.N. BTW has a policy that their management employees are not allowed to stay in one place for more than a few years.
These children have managed to turn around what you think is a negative…they know more about the world we live in than most provincial adult Americans and they have friends all over the world. They are well rounded in sports, literature, and world politics and very polite and astute. Don’t be so narrow-minded and assume the worse.
