The Clown Prince of Crime is creepy!
Here are the latest shots of Heath Ledger as the Joker and Christian Bale as Batman via AICN.
Check out this video of Today Show host Al Roker visiting the set of The Dark Knight. Roker chats with Bale, Aaron Eckhart (district attorney Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face) as well as director Christopher Nolan.
The Dark Knight has a tentative release date of July 18, 2008. Filming concluded last month.

I think the whole point is for him to look creepy guys, he is after all the joker.
But I still don’t get why him, there’s a ton of other actors I think, better capable of playing the joker.
Was it politics or what that got him the part?

i don’t like his makeup. i liked the joker with jack nicholson. his make-up was more.. clean, y’know? heath’s just looks messy. but still, i’m looking forwards to the movie. :]

Heath is a superb actor and will doubtless be the definitive Joker. Nicholson relied too much on the makeup to do the acting. His will be seen in retrospect as simplistic and one dimensional. Ledger will give it really evil vibes. I can’t wait.
What an inspired performance. Heath Ledger will be greatly missed, what a tremendous loss.
As an Australian, I am so sad that one of our own has left us before his time - not only a great actor and person, but a great Aussie, who loved his country and never forgot where he came from.
He will be the definitive Joker - he could do anything, and with such intensity and drive, it comes across the screen so clearly how brilliant an actor he was. Go and watch ‘Candy’ or ‘Two Hands’ (Aussie movies) and u will see what I mean.
God Bless Heath - all of Australia is grieving for you… we are sad we will not see your smile or feel your presence anymore, but we will love u always.

he got the role BEACUSE he was the only actor with a BIG INTEREST in the character , it was like his dream to play the joker that’s why nobody will top his play on the joker
i love the joker but the new batman suit i dont like at all
While not the most obvious choice for the role of the Joker, in retrospect, I think we’re already seeing that the part was cast absolutely perfectly. This is the added dimension that this villian needed… badly.
But the reason I took the time to write something is that it’s about time I heard someone else say something about the new batsuit. From the shots I’ve seen, I’m not liking it too much either.
Oh, and also, it wasn’t his life’s dream to play the joker as he did not even grow up reading comic books and never even considered himself a big super hero fan. Nonetheless, he nailed the character of the Joker perfectly.
If the joker was played by a mexican - would they rename him
