OlderBrad Pitt Greenlights “Make It Right” Project
Actor-activist Brad Pitt announced more details of his affordable housing “Make it Right” project for the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans on Monday’s Today show. The first of at least 150 environmentally friendly homes will be ready by next summer.
On putting his money where his mouth is after pledging $5 million toward the reconstruction: “This area where we’re standing right now, they lost over 5,000 [homes]. I’m hoping we can expand over to the rest of New Orleans. There’s no reason why we need to stop here. It’s just going to be if we can get the financial support to make up the difference people need to return to their homes.”
On asking for money to make it happen: “This is an adopt-a-house campaign. I’m asking for foundations, for high net-worth individuals, for church groups, for corporations to come in to adopt a home. Basically, $150,000 will get a family back in their home.”

I’m getting involved because its sickening to know that in our country, in one of the best cities we had in our country nobody is helping these people. SO check out the site and pledge ur support, all it takes is a little time and effort.

Brad and Angie are so lucky to have each other, they support each other in everything. He said it himself, his love for his family makes him want to help. He puts himself in other people’s shoes and helps for the simple reason that it could be him and his family in a terrible situation. He understands how it would feel and acts on it. Brad and Angelina have shown that not all celebrities and rich people turn their nose up at the less fortunate. They both are as selfless as can be. If anybody really wants to help, a cash donation of 5 or 10 bucks is okay. On that list is a line for cash donations. If a lot of people gave 10 bucks, it will add up and still make a big difference from 0 dollars. Every little bit helps when you are in need.
When I was in school, us kids used to give our soda pop money when the alms box comes around. It helped a lot of hungry people we were told and it was only a day that we didn’t get to drink soda during recess. Now it’s you can do away without Starbucks for a day so it’s okay.

Brad told Ann Curry that this project gave more pleasure than any movie he had been involved in. He has a purpose that is true and pure, helping people who are homeless and without anything. Purpose in life is a wonderful thing. Without it a person just drifts along. This is what he spoke about in the V interview. I am truly happy for him. He has found a way to utilize his passion for architecture
into a project that will not only satisfy his desire to create and build, but will help others who are truly in need. It is a blessing to be able to turn a hobby into a meaningful reality.
He and Angie have truly been blessed. They know what is real and important and they act on it. I am so proud to be a fan of theirs and will support their projects as much as I can monetarily . Peace :smile:

Seriously, I taped the interview because I knew it would happen, lol. Two seconds in, if I wasn’t watching his yummy lips move, I was fixated on his eyes. I thought it was so cute the way he didn’t quite know how to answer at times and seemed sort of shy about it. All he knows is that he wants to help and that’s it. He’s so freaking cute! So I rewound my tape and rewatched the interview to get it all in because I drifted off the first time, lol.

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve said it before, but he’s like fine wine. I think he was good-looking when he was young, but life experience sure agrees with him! He’s ridiculously HOT these days! James’ parents had originally given him the the middle name of Shiloh, but changed their mind before the paperwork was finalized, and decided to name him James Haven Voight. When Brad and Angie were pregnant, they approached James and asked him if it was OK to name their little one Shiloh. James says he was very touched and honored by this. That’s how we got Shiloh’s name.

While filming on a set in New Orleans, actor Brad Pitt became seduced by the powerful image of a pink-clad CGI house within the lush Louisiana surroundings. He saw the pink structure as a metaphor, representing the future of renewed housing for those displaced by the recent disasters.
With the vision fresh in his mind, he picked up the phone and described the concept to the Los Angeles office of Graft. A hurried telephone conversation was followed by a lengthy brainstorming session over a number of bottles of Pinot Noir. The master plan was confirmed, and work began the next morning.

My turkey came out fine. Really moist and brown (got a tip to sprinkle paprika on it to do that) but then when my friend came and the others were delayed, she put the turkey back in the oven to warm. Well, it got warm alright. She put the stuffing, the rolls and some other stuff in there too so we had dried food turkey, stuffing and hard rolls plus overcooked yams and veggies. There was no horseradish for the deviled eggs but the ham she brought was beautiful. All in all, we had fun as we complained and ate and complained and ate anyway.
Oh, we forgot to put the cranberry jelly in the refrigerator so it came out like jam when I sliced it. The mashed potatoes came out lumpy cause I coldn’t find the mixer but it was tasty and buttery. It wouldn’t have been Thanksgiving without disasters anyway so we all had a great time. (The kids had pizza BTW)
I just remembered, do you guys think Brad was serious when he said he was getting his dad a tankless water heater for Christmas? Lol, it made me laugh.

James Haven is an actor, producer and most importantly a man committed to bring Jesus to an industry in desperate need of him. No offense to you, but I don’t really care for news about ‘the fraud’ today. this family is so amazing.
Angie looked so cute in her coat while she played with Madd. Love her hair when she parts it on the side (like she did in MAMS) more than when she parts it in the middle. Her face changes with each change of her hairstyle. This ones she looked so young and carefree (like little girl elegant).

Brad is amazing. Brad is the type of man every woman tries to get. You can see in Angelina’s smile that she knows what she has as Brad knows what he has.
Our government should be ashamed for what’s not happening in New Orleans. Two years after Katrina and the place is still in shambles. If we were not involved in Iraq and wasting billions of dollars (not to mention lives) New Orleans would have never been in this position in the first place.
George Bush wonders why his popularity is low, here’s one huge reason. He’s to busy playing with the rich to take care of our poor and neglected AMERICANS. The disaster of KATRINA was a natural one but what’s followed is a GWB disaster and he should be so very ashamed.
