OlderBrad Pitt Greenlights “Make It Right” Project
Actor-activist Brad Pitt announced more details of his affordable housing “Make it Right” project for the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans on Monday’s Today show. The first of at least 150 environmentally friendly homes will be ready by next summer.
On putting his money where his mouth is after pledging $5 million toward the reconstruction: “This area where we’re standing right now, they lost over 5,000 [homes]. I’m hoping we can expand over to the rest of New Orleans. There’s no reason why we need to stop here. It’s just going to be if we can get the financial support to make up the difference people need to return to their homes.”
On asking for money to make it happen: “This is an adopt-a-house campaign. I’m asking for foundations, for high net-worth individuals, for church groups, for corporations to come in to adopt a home. Basically, $150,000 will get a family back in their home.”

brad and angelina are also leading by example for their children. i am sure their four precious children will grow up with incredible empathy and a drive to make a differnece b/c of the example brad and angelina are setting.

What a nice way to start the day (despite the snowstorm last weekend and more to come in Chicago) — watching Brad so sincere and intense in his Ann Curry interview! And I have to confess, I was watching his lips and his eyes more than I was listening to his words. That is one hot man!

Brad told Ann Curry that this project gave more pleasure than any movie he had been involved in. He has a purpose that is true and pure, helping people who are homeless and without anything. Purpose in life is a wonderful thing. Without it a person just drifts along. This is what he spoke about in the V interview. I am truly happy for him. He has found a way to utilize his passion for architecture
into a project that will not only satisfy his desire to create and build, but will help others who are truly in need. It is a blessing to be able to turn a hobby into a meaningful reality.
He and Angie have truly been blessed. They know what is real and important and they act on it. I am so proud to be a fan of theirs and will support their projects as much as I can monetarily . Peace :smile:

Thank heavens I wasn’t the only one. I was kind of feeling guilty he was so sincere in what he was saying and all I could think of was “Da*mn he’s hot! Lucky Angie!” So to assuage my guilty conscience I am thinking of donating to MIR.
By the way, tabitha, belated happy birthday. Sorry I wasn’t online for much of the weekend, too many parties/dinner dances to attend during these times.
