OlderBrad Pitt Greenlights “Make It Right” Project
Actor-activist Brad Pitt announced more details of his affordable housing “Make it Right” project for the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans on Monday’s Today show. The first of at least 150 environmentally friendly homes will be ready by next summer.
On putting his money where his mouth is after pledging $5 million toward the reconstruction: “This area where we’re standing right now, they lost over 5,000 [homes]. I’m hoping we can expand over to the rest of New Orleans. There’s no reason why we need to stop here. It’s just going to be if we can get the financial support to make up the difference people need to return to their homes.”
On asking for money to make it happen: “This is an adopt-a-house campaign. I’m asking for foundations, for high net-worth individuals, for church groups, for corporations to come in to adopt a home. Basically, $150,000 will get a family back in their home.”

My turkey came out fine. Really moist and brown (got a tip to sprinkle paprika on it to do that) but then when my friend came and the others were delayed, she put the turkey back in the oven to warm. Well, it got warm alright. She put the stuffing, the rolls and some other stuff in there too so we had dried food turkey, stuffing and hard rolls plus overcooked yams and veggies. There was no horseradish for the deviled eggs but the ham she brought was beautiful. All in all, we had fun as we complained and ate and complained and ate anyway.
Oh, we forgot to put the cranberry jelly in the refrigerator so it came out like jam when I sliced it. The mashed potatoes came out lumpy cause I coldn’t find the mixer but it was tasty and buttery. It wouldn’t have been Thanksgiving without disasters anyway so we all had a great time. (The kids had pizza BTW)
I just remembered, do you guys think Brad was serious when he said he was getting his dad a tankless water heater for Christmas? Lol, it made me laugh.

Ann Curry may as well be their personal *****. She is one of the worse on-camera reporters. If she can stop herself from drooling and kissing their a**, you may get a sentence of something worthy. I am still laughing at her interview with Angie. All that “I know Angelina I know- how do you do it” nonsense. Even Angie seemed uncomfortable. I wish they’d send out someone else on their interviews and stories with Today. Brad and Angie are fabulous- just please get rid of Ann Curry as their personal interviewer!!

No offense to you, but I don’t really care for news about ‘the fraud’ today. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind taking a crack at ‘the fraud’ and enjoying a laugh at her expense when an opportunity presents itself, but I’m ignoring anything trash related today. Only positive, inspirational and uplifting stories for me. Stories about people making a difference and helping out those in need.
