OlderJonathan Rhys Meyers is Off the Hook
Another celebrity is off the hook!
Charges against Jonathan Rhys Meyers were dropped at Dublin District Court Wednesday after apologizing through his lawyer, Michael Staines, for being drunk and abusive at Dublin Airport last month.
His lawyer told the court his client’s behavior was “out of character” and that he wished to “unreservedly apologize” to airport security guards, police and staff at the British airline BMI.
Rhys Meyers, however, was given a legal caution** and also offered to make a sizable donation to to an unspecified charity. His mother died two days after the incident at the airport.
**A legal caution is a probationary action under which he could face harsher penalties if he behaves that way in public in Ireland again.

I’m glad they went a bit easy on him. I hope that he is doing better. The death of a parent is always difficult
I can’t help but love this guy. He’s a good actor and he’s awesome on The Tudors. Hope he pulls himself together- so sad he lost his mom just after the legal trouble. Hope to see him recover and back at work.
If you want to be above the law become an actor. If it was anybody else we would of been charged with tons of stuff. Sickening how actors always get a slap on the wrist for braking the law.
trying not to sound to harsh here but why are people been easy on him, he acted like a drunken idiot before his mom died so he shouldn’t get any sympathy and let off!!

I think they decided to drop the charges because they realized that Jonathan’s behaviour was somehow justified … He was facing a terrible time, which ended in the saddest loss, his mother, I’m glad they decided to give him a second chance.
