Beyonce - “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”

During last night’s Movies Rock, Beyonce (in Elie Saab) opened up the show and sang a rousing rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” most famously performed by Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale in the 1939 musical fantasy film The Wizard of Oz.

Naturally, Beyonce received a standing ovation after her spectacular performance.

I used to like the way she sang but now i think it is very BORING always the same thing same style blah blah blah boring that’s what she is now try something new girl she is not intersting anymore to me,next.

The dress is an Elie Saab, and is not from her own line.

I’m proud of her, she stuck to her lower register- one she rarely sings in, didn’t oversing/overbelt the song-instead letting it build to a nice clear finish, and she didn’t try to sing it like Patti LaBelle does it, OR like Judy did it, instead she did her thing and made it her own. I’ve got no complaints! Good stuff.

Yikes… she messed up the lyrics! But hey, if I were on stage in front of hundreds of folks, I am sure I would not hold up half as good as she can. I think she should stick to her usual pop genre… this DOES NOT suit her.
