OlderHayden Panettiere is the Next Angelina Jolie
Hayden Panettiere spoke out about her Save the Whales campaign at the Forecast Earth Summit by The Weather Channel Friday night in Washington, D.C.
The 18-year-old Heroes hottie had lots to say to People:
On being the the next Angelina Jolie: Absolutely, I would take that. She was definitely one of my inspirations growing up and she was definitely somebody I looked up to.”
On her attempt to protect dolphins facing slaughter from local fishermen: “I grew up near the Hudson River in New York. I didn’t grow up in the water; I don’t surf. People think I surf because of the footage. I was just in a panic and happened to paddle really fast – I was hauling butt! It caused a great amount of stir. [In a town where] people like to see young girls in Hollywood get arrested, we don’t have a reason why we would [return to Japan], and we don’t know of any good that could come of it at the moment… [but] I don’t mind getting arrested.”
On the downfalls of success: “It completely ruined my personal life. I mean, you walk out the door and you’ve got ten cameras in your face. Obviously everything in my life is on display whether it be true or false – 99 percent of it false.”
On her ideal Friday night: “At home in bed with a movie and pizza and good friends. I’d probably be watching Little Britain, a BBC TV show. It is phenomenal.”
On her dating life since she turned 18: “I’m not really a chain dater, and I’m not someone who kind of gives herself easily. So, I think it’s attracting creepy old men, but I guess it’s changed a little bit. I don’t know [if I have anyone special in my life]. I have a lot of special people in my life.”
On the criticism of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s recent bikini shots: “Did you see TMZ the other day where I bent over and they took a picture of me, and there was a whole conversation on whether I had cottage cheese thighs or not? It makes me feel awful. I’m sorry, but no woman looks good under overhead lighting. It was not good lighting. I’m a teenage girl and I have the same body issues. There are parts of my body that I don’t mind, and there are parts of my body that I absolutely can’t stand. And I don’t need somebody pointing them out to me, because trust me, I know they’re there. You don’t need to tell anyone else about it. It doesn’t need to be strewn across a magazine. It’s my business. And the fact that you don’t have anything better to talk about than my thigh fat is absolutely absurd. It just goes to show you the pathetic people in this world. I give Jennifer Love Hewitt all the support in the world. She’s beautiful.”

Lets not forget that Angie too took small steps to get where she is now. Lets give Hayden the chance to get there too. I love that she is not a train wreck like Lohan, Spears or whomever. You guys are being way too freakin harsh. I like Hayden- she’s adorable, down to earth, sweet, sincere, and comes off as very articulate in this interview. While she may not be the next Katherine Hepburn, she’s certainly got decent acting chops; and I respect her for wanting to use her celebrity to do some good in this world, and at such a young age too. She could easily just be another vapid blonde starlet type sluttin’ it up in Hollywood, but she doesn’t do that at all, she remains mature, grounded, and has some self-respect. The fact that she takes the time out of her busy schedule and hot career to promote good causes makes her a-ok in my book.
Nobody wanted to be like Angelina jolie growing up. She should stfu and stop lying to get publicity. There is no next Angelina Jolie. She’s one of a kind. But you can find 100 Haydens around.

Would she like someone to look at her lifestyle, take, abuse, even destroy her property and possessions and feel they can do as they wish just because they thought or felt differently? The peaceful negoiation of human and animal rights and pointing out, correcting any troubles is what elected goverments are better able to do. She should look around her and do for her own neighborhood and state and country first, then educate herself and mature into someone who does know what is right in what they say and do.

I have to disagree with you here…I think we have an obligation to bring national attention to inhumane laws around the world…regardless if it’s animals or people being mistreated…and this issue does apply outside the U.S. since products being made around the world from the killing of animals are exported/imported everywhere. If someone doesn’t speak up and point out how cruel and unnecessary laws, then it will never stop. Look at all the criticism that was given to the seal hunts in Canada. People from different countries jumped into that battle. So I don’t agree that just because this country or that has an inhumane law that we should all shut up and turn a blind eye. How do you think human rights abuses, genocides and murder have been stopped in the world? So it doesn’t really matter what is a law and what isn’t when it comes down to the moral principles being wrong.
Hayden is a great gal.. But she’ll never be Angelina.
