Brad & Angelina’s Boxing Showdown

Sometimes you read the hate written on certain tabloids and blogs and you just get ashamed to be a member of the human race. I just stumbled upon the article about Shiloh, and two weeks ago it was about Zee, and it’s just too painul to read grown ups taking cheap shots at infants. How low can we stoop as human beings, I dont think its about money. Someone wants to get to Angie and the more she ignores them the more vicious they become. Unfortunately for them, Angelina is one tough cookie and it will take them to write tons of gabbage and she still wont bother even to give the satisfaction of acknowledging their BS.

I sincerely hope that one day all this will stop hatred and malice will stop.

Guys guys you don’t understand I don’t care if Jennifer has a baby. I am a fan whether or not she has children. Who cares if she has a baby? She didn’t want Brad’s baby - so glad she never had his baby. What a lucky woman to get out of that when she did.

Anyway love how quick you guys all comment on what I say. Come ignore me I know you can. Pretend I am not posting.

Oh and I feel really bad for the St Jude foundation. Hopefully Brad being on won’t bring the ratings to low so some people will watch. They had to add St Jude’s because they knew that Brad would have low ratings. Really sad.

Frankly, its wonderful to see Angelina mentioned in such great company. Personally I believe Angelina will be nominated for an Oscar but whether she will win is another matter. I don’t mind if any of these great actresses won the oscar, especially Julie Christie - who I remember during the 70’s was just GORGEOUS and turned out to be more than a little alternative in a approach to life.

Julie Christie as Fiona Anderson in Away From Her

How long has Julie Christie been a living legend? After a rough patch in the ’80s, Christie reemerged in Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet and gave one of her best performances of her career in Afterglow. But, even after that, she was looked at by Hollywood as someone whose best days were behind her. Then came Away From Her. As Fiona Anderson, a woman struggling with Alzheimer’s, Christie is so believable that you could be forgiven for thinking she actually has the disease. She doesn’t (thankfully), but she’s just that good. In the end, Christie’s legacy as a living legend might be defined by her ability to buck the trend of going into the great Hollywood unknown and actually delivering some of her most powerful performances in her golden years.

Angelina Jolie as Marianne Pearl in A Mighty Heart

It’s often overlooked thanks to her tabloid headlines, but Angelina Jolie moved to a completely new level as an actress this year, turning in a career-defining performance in A Mighty Heart. Jolie injects Pearl with the perfect mix of grace and sadness, making the end to her tragic story all the more painful. It’s not a showy, melodramatic role, which so many lesser actors would have turned it into, but it’s unquestionably one of the more memorable turns of the year. Jolie took Marianne’s pain and made it feel genuine, rather than a manipulative tool of a Hollywood product. It’s just a shame more people didn’t see it.

Laura Linney as Wendy Savage in The Savages

She deserves notice for her solid turns in Breach and even The Nanny Diaries, but it’s The Savages that Laura Linney will be most remembered for in 2007. Since her breakthrough on the small screen in Tales From the City and then on the big screen in You Can Count On Me, has there been anyone in Hollywood as consistent as Laura Linney? Seriously. She’s reached that level of what could be called “Streep-ness” where you just know she’s going to be at least good in everything she does and very often great. Whether it’s a dark film like Mystic River or her light work in Love Actually, Linney is one of the most versatile actresses working today. We’ll even forgive the occasional Man of the Year if she throws us a Kinsey and Squid and the Whale on the side. Her work in The Savages is some of her best yet and, just considering the movies named in this paragraph, that’s saying something.

Belen Rueda as Laura in The Orphanage

Every year or so, there’s a performance of such physical and emotional stamina that it really deserves a different kind of acclaim. As Laura, a woman who may or not be going crazy after the disappearance of her son, Belen Rueda is in nearly every single shot of The Orphanage, and she’s completely fearless and riveting in every scene. Unlike a lot of ghost stories, The Orphanage doesn’t forget that it’s the person at the center of the story that’s the most important character, not the ghoulies that may or may not surround her. Rueda sells every twist and turn of a complicated character arc that will have you talking for days after you’ve seen it. Here’s the basic truth - if she was a more well-known name stateside, if Penelope Cruz played the role, for example, she would be getting Oscar talk. It’s hard for unknown American actresses to break into the top five, much less unknown foreign ones.

Forbes reported Jennifer Aniston has a networth of 110M. Why didnt Jen donate some of her money to charity. I know she filmed a Saint Jude commercial, and also wearing their T shirt. Why didnt she OPEN HER PURSE?

In her Harper magazine interview, she said she wanted to be Oprah for 1 day. Why didnt she follow Oprah’s example by donating millions to charities? I thought Oprah and Jen are good friends. Why didnt Jen learn from her?

Dont tell me Jen does it quietly as her hired poster Sam would always said. All non profit organizations would announce it because all charities would want to show thanks and galvanize the public to get more donations.

Jen Aniston donated LITTLE or NOTHING (in actual cash) compare to what she has, that it is a SHAME to mention it.

You may be joking but I was just about to give the same advice to Sam to take herself to the doctor.

I don’t usually read Sam’s posts. But I do note that she does post and I do think that Sam is on the verge of a nervous break down or in one. Often times, of late, I think that Sam either thinks she is Jennifer Aniston or is Jennifer Aniston. Of course, it could be Sam is a paid troll who seems to like her job too much.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve decided that I should give Sam the benefit of the doubt and assume that she is having a nervous breakdown (as opposed to being a paid troll) and let her rant as it presumably gives her some temporary relief. Her rants don’t bother me except to the extent that its not a pleasant thing to observe, albeit from quite a distance, someone teetering on the brink of insanity.

Thanks for that article. I also remember Julie Christie but from
the 60’s (yikes!!!) Dr. Zhivago, and Darling 1965, good for her still working.
