Celebrity Boxing Match — Round One!
The A-listers came out in droves for the early Sunday morning for the WBC welterweight title fight between Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie looked quite cuddly as they drew plenty of attention. Denzel Washington cheered frantically from his seat. David Beckham looked like he was getting down with Kid Rock. Gwen Stefani and rocker husband Gavin Rossdale looked really into the fight.

Since when did GP has beauty and brain. Was she in the top 100 smart list for a starter? was she in the most beautiful woman polls list? NOPE! You are as stupid as ever. STFU!
Adapting the story of Daniel and Mariane Pearl for the film “A Mighty Heart” in a truthful and respectful manner was difficult enough, and Angelina Jolie soon discovered that director Michael Winterbottom’s style would make it particularly challenging.
“The way Michael shoots, I had no rehearsal,” says Jolie, who shot the Pearls’ wedding her first day on set. “I was in my room getting ready and they said, ‘OK, come down the stairs.’ So that was it.
“I walked into the wedding and we said our vows. I had looked at Danny and Mariane’s wedding footage just before, and it made me terribly sad. They loved each other so much, and you can see it in the wedding. It was hard not to cry.”
The melancholy was inescapable. Daniel Pearl was executed in 2002 by Islamic terrorists while investigating a story in Karachi, Pakistan, about shoe bomber Richard Reid. It happened while Mariane was pregnant with their son.
Jolie and husband Brad Pitt, with the film produced under his Plan B Entertainment shingle, had to focus on the story of Mariane’s determination to find the killers, while also dealing with a potentially ominous climate during the pic’s shooting in Pakistan and India.
“We talked about the risks before we started filming,” Jolie says, “the security concerns and what it would mean politically if we got it wrong. We could anger more people and make it worse. But, if by some small chance we get it right, maybe we can do a little something toward bringing people back together, or at least looking at each other in another light.”
True to Winterbottom’s style of filming, with little rehearsal and much improvisation in striving for realism, many of the roles were filled with people not from central casting but from that region.
“It was a very connected group,” Jolie says. “I didn’t even know who was a non-actor because it all just felt right.”
Of all the many roles Jolie has done in her career, this one carried a special burden.
“Mariane has suffered the ugliest side of all that is going on in the world today and came out of it believing we can’t just be angry and blinded by hate, but must continue to have a dialogue,” Jolie says. “If I don’t represent her right, and people don’t see what a beautiful, strong, open-minded, loving woman she is, then I’ve done a disservice and hurt a really great woman.”

Christmas is a time to spend at home with family, and that’s where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will spend the holidays — at home in New Orleans.
“People are really good to our family here,” Pitt told TODAY’s Ann Curry during a one-on-one interview in New Orleans that aired on Monday. “It’s been a nice place for myself and the kids and Angie, and, yeah, we hope to maintain a connection here.”

Amy Adams ‘Oscar nomination’?? I doubt it. There never had any actor or actress nominated in a comedy film specially for Oscar. I could be wrong but I doubt it.
OT,
I cannot believe Rumer Willis is this year’s Golden Globe girl. look at her. she is fat and ugly. I feel sorry for Demi and Bruce.

Oh JJ you are spoiling us. I didn’t know Brad and Angie are into “boxing.” I thought Filipinos are (including my Dad) more into boxing. I love it when all the big A-listers are there just part of the crowd. Thanks again JJ. You rock.

Why is it Angelina’s fans can’t believe that a few people might not see her as especially wonderful. I still think she is a good actress, but the woman is kind of harsh in affairs of the heart.
Yes I think she will get nominated for Oscar, Globes,SAG,BAFTA,NY CRITICS Society…

I just read this over at USA Today. George C. just so much credit for doing nothing. Angie has gone to Darfur/Sudan & Chad several times. And yet it is hardly mentioned in the press. GC goes and he becomes the saviour of the country. There are som comments from readers included that I thought were funny. Peace

Globe-trotter: George Clooney attends a screening of Michael Clayton at the Dubai International Film Festival.
.us Newsvine Reddit FacebookWhat’s this?By William Keck, USA TODAY
In January, George Clooney will make his second trip to Darfur in hopes of bringing back video footage of the land ravaged by famine, disease and warfare. He’s globetrotting, appearing over the weekend at the Dubai Film Festival and being honored this week (with Don Cheadle) by the Nobel Peace Laureates in Rome. But not even a root canal could stop the Oscar winner, 46, from calling in with an update on his commitment to the troubled locale.

Q: First, how did your dental appointment fare?
A: Here’s the funny part. I got a redo of a root canal, and I thought, “Well, that’s bad.” And then (the dentist) goes, “Let’s go to work on this other tooth.” I was going to get an implant, and all of a sudden he’s in with a hammer and I lost a tooth, so I’ve got a hole in the side of my head. It’s really fun. It’s not just pain, it’s got a pulse.
Q: But you’ll be well enough by January to make your second trip to Darfur. What’s the plan?
A: I’m not a politician, so the reason I go is to (focus) attention there. So we’re going to try to get deeper into Darfur; try to get some cameras in to the tougher camps and have conversations. That’s basically all I can do. If you put famous people in front of very ugly sites, people will watch.
Q: I’m amazed you’re even allowed in.
A: If you’re the head of a country who is denying that all these things are happening, then you might welcome me in to say, “Show me all these bad things.”

Q: Is there one familiar face from your last trip whom you’re hoping to see again?
A: There was a little girl in a tiny camp in south Sudan who was holding my hand while I was throwing up from eating bad goat who didn’t look like she was going to last a year and a half. It would be nice if I saw her doing well.
Q: What has been accomplished since you and your father (Nick) spoke about Darfur on the National Mall in April 2006?
A: You want the truth? Absolutely nothing. People can march and pat each other on the back, and concerts will happen, and the simple truth is there’s still the exact same issues going on.
Q: Whom have you met with among the presidential candidates to discuss Darfur?
A: Barack (Obama) and I are very good friends, and we’ve spoken at length. I’ve also spoken to Joe Biden, but it’s an easy subject for all of them to be behind. No one’s for genocide. No one’s for people being killed because of their race or religion.
Q: If the U.S. government were to ask you to take on a more official role, would you?
A: Sure, (but) our government really isn’t in a position to fix things. What we need, and where I’m working the hardest, is to try to get more involvement from other Arab/Muslim countries.
Q: Have you been following your pal Brad Pitt’s crusade in New Orleans?
A: It’s a life choice for him and a big part of his life. Matt (Damon) does that, too. Don (Cheadle). A lot of the guys who are good friends of mine spend a good portion of their life doing this. In some ways, it’s easier for us because we have some financial security, so we can say, “OK, let’s stop worrying about ourselves and look out for other people.” What should you do with all this kind of attention? Should you get out of a car without wearing underwear … ?
Q: No, George. Please. Never.
A: You’ve never seen me. I look fantastic.
Q: How will you be spending the holidays?
A: I don’t do a big Christmas thing. I think Christmas at some point is for having a bunch of kids, so I just get through the holidays. I have a lot of work to do.
Q: Has being so involved with the heartache in Darfur affected your own level of joy?
A: It certainly reminds you to be ridiculously happy with your life. Once you see people suffering in the way these people are suffering, you feel very guilty about not suffering at all.
Q: Except for your root canal.
A: Yeah, I got to go to a dentist. You realize how of little importance the things that trouble you are.

I wish more Hollywood stars would follow Brad Pitt’s lead and help Americans first (New Orleans is still not rebuilt, 1000s of families are still displaced and without jobs, and surprise surprise, neocon fascist Dumbya Bush doesn’t give a d**n about any of it) before thinking they can save the rest of the world.

Hopefully George will spend HIS money in trying to resolve this crisis not the taxpayers. Clooney, Bono and a large part of the Celebrity group would like to spend taxpayer monies but when it comes to them making a contribution that would make them feel the pain they are noteably absent.
