Thanks Jared for the new thread!
I hope she win, she deserve it. Go Angie..
Seriously I didnt think her performance was that good. She sat around most of the time just staring. But I am sure that the Oscars wants the Golden couple at the show to boost ratings.
good for angie!
Angelina Jolie is the PRETTIEST! She looks wonderful in that pic and looks great in the movie!
Everyone tell EW to stop that!

Wonderful! Angie deserves to win.

Cingrats Angie , bur I can’t believe that Brad didný receive a nomination for Assassination of Jesse James !!!
P.S : I hope she wins , after all she deserves it !
Excellent news! CONGRATULATIONS Angie, very well deserved. Now roll on the Oscars.
congrate Angie,Brad and plan B.but I still think they should nominate Brad too.seriously Brad was better than George clooney.I don’t know what is going on but he deserves at least nomination. :)
JJ why don’t you list all the people that got nominated (Nikki blonsky, John travolta do you see a trend here JJ)Congrats Angie

George had the backing of Warner bros, which make the different.
Can’t believed Casey was not nominated too . but I still remember Jake G. was not nominated in Golden globe for his role in Brokeback but was nominated in Oscar that year.
Congrats to AJ, C. Affleck and Plan B. Well deserved nominations.

Casey gets nominated.
Congrats to Angelina ,She poured Her heart and soul into this role.. A Very Well deserved Nomination…
Cheers!
Awww…Congratulations to the JPs. It is well deserved.
Hey JP fans…say, are we gonna take the high road about this great news and not go….
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha in your face you stupid, stupid haters! Now this is Karma!!!!!”
Please tell me if we’re being adult about this so I don’t come off like the only childish one here. Thanks and much love.
PS
Thanks Jared, no coals in your stockings this year.
She can’t win! it would be so unfair. “A Mighty Heart” was her only good performance for years. I hope Keira Knightley wins! Or Julie Christie.
Denzel was nominated too, but I guess it would have taken too much space to make sure folks knew that. The Great Debaters got a lot of nominations, but I take it this site won’t mention that either.
I vote Julie Christie !
Why the hell would you only focus on her when there were FAR better performances?
She can’t win! it would be so unfair. “A Mighty Heart” was her only good performance for years. I hope Keira Knightley wins! Or Julie Christie.

This is sooo stupid , she was nominated because she deserves it !! She has litle children , that`s why she doesn’t do inumerous films , and if you forgot , she has another amazing performances in the last years .
Geez, I sense another troll(s) meltdown on the way. Congrats to all the nominees. Hey troll(s), Don’t fret, don’t have a pizzy fit, donate. It will do you some good.

George Clooney Sucked.

Stupid people like you doesn’t know what a great performance and a good movie is. Go watch some reruns of ‘Friends’. That’s all you’re good at.
Congrats to Angelina and the other nominees! Please let’s not let today be about responding to trolls.
Alyn @ 12/13/2007 at 9:25 am
Seriously I didnt think her performance was that good. She sat around most of the time just staring.
——-
That’s what Marianne was forced to do, just sit around and wait to find out what happened to her husband. Of course you can’t care less since you just hate Angelina. At least she wasn’t just sitting around idly sun bathing.
Ehh,I miss Natalie Portman….
I hope that Keira wins, because she was great in that film, usually i don’t like her work but in Atonement she was great as was James McAvoy
CONGRATULATIONS Angie. Yay, you go girl. You know what? I’m just happy with a nomination and it will be good if she wins, and it will still be okay if she doesn’t. The important thing is getting recognized for her role. :)
Congrats to all nominees especially Nikki Blonsky (Ben Lyons called it right!), John Travolta and Craig Zadan and Neil Meron for the Hairspray picture nom :D
Ellen Pompeo was snubbed!
# 38 Mr and Mrs Smith @ 12/13/2007 at 9:53 am CONGRATULATIONS Angie. Yay, you go girl. You know what? I’m just happy with a nomination and it will be good if she wins, and it will still be okay if she doesn’t. The important thing is getting recognized for her role.

I feel the same way!
HOLLA!!! Well deserved. Too bad Brad was snubbed
Brad should have been nominated.
Congrats Angelina
Attention L.A. fans….Brad will be on the local morning show Good Day Los Angeles
You can watch it online @ http://www.myfoxla.com
WELL DESERVED. AWARD NOMINATIONS SOMETIMES REVIVES SALES OF DVD BUT I THINK THIS TOPIC WAS A LITLE TOO HIGHBROW FOR A LOTOF MOVIES FANS. FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE ONCE A TOPIC LEAVES THE NEWS ON TV THEY ARE DONE WEITH THE SUBJECT.
A mighty heart and Angies performance is the emperors’ new clothes. She did not act in that film just got made up - sighed a few times - screamed once and looked sad- Where is the acting. Not saying she can’t act - just that the role didn’t call for much of anything except for her to show up. I think she was nominated only because some people think they had to nominate her in this film because it was meant to be social statement. I will be very disappointed if she wins - one of the other actors really deserves it.
Being nominated was already a winner. Imagine there were a hundred of films with hundreds of actors participating every year. and Angie and other nominee in BA were the best and coming out on top 5 five actresses this year. Not bad. even not getting the top prize, I’m happy for her.
Congrat to Angie and other nominee . A job well done !
Congratulations to Angelina Jolie. Her performance in “A Mighty Heart” was the best I have seen in long time from her.
However, she will lose the Golden Globe to Julie Christie, who is simply AMAZING in “Away From Her”.
david @ 12/13/2007 at 9:42 am Denzel was nominated too, but I guess it would have taken too much space to make sure folks knew that. The Great Debaters got a lot of nominations, but I take it this site won’t mention that either.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
No one is holding you here. I’m sure ther are plenty of othere sites you could go to today for GG information. Congrats to Denzel
Good luck
wonderful woman Angelina jolie
Congrats to Angelina! I think her only real competition in this category is Julie Christie. I think Angie will win the Golden Globe, but Julie may get the Oscar.
She was amazing in A Mighty Heart. A well-deserved nomination.
Congrats to Angelina! I haven’t seen the movie but heard pretty much only good things about it. I might rent it now….
But I have to give a shout out to Nikki Blonsky and her nomination for best actress in a comedy or musical! She soooo deserves it and I couldn’t be happier for her!!
And also to John Travolta for his nom as best supporting actor and Hairspray as a whole for the best film: comedy or musical nomination!
and Yay for Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, Sweeny Todd is gonna be nothing but WIN, I can’t wait to see it! Also have to give my love to Across The Universe, such a brilliant and fantastic movie. But over all I think I am still pulling for Hairspray to win the comedy or musical category, I gotta pull for the story that helped to shape the person I am today. Yes that sounds corny but when I saw the orginal John Waters movie at the age of six I changed and now that is a completely amazind and inspiring broadway play and movie musical I have to support it!
CONGRATS to Angie, Brad and Plan for AMH, well deserved. Angie was fantastic, great performance.
Also congrats to Casey for AOJJ; Denzel Washington, Cate Blanchett; Julia Roberts; Georgoe Clooney; The Great Debaters (I can’t wait to see it)and all the rest of the nominees
Thanks Jared for the new thread
Angie’s performance was spectacular. I hope she wins.

According to the haters, she just got nominated for ratings or social reasons,WTF does that mean. Humanitarian work does not get acting awards. these same people claim everyone hates her. Can’t be both. It just shows that the heters on the blogs are not the majority.
Her performance was great and really powerful. Hate is really blinding. Angie more than deserved this nomination this year. Congratulations. she more than deserved it and she is a great actress.
CONGRATULATIONS TO HER !
FAN @ 12/13/2007 at 10:05 am
Angie’s performance was not only recognized at Golden Globe. her performance was highly praised by several notable movie critics, I mean not just one but several ! She was also in the final list of several of best actress in several awards coming next month.
Dont’ be biased , you sound so sour-grape because we an oeverrated, talentless ex-sitcom hag with big Oscar dream would never had one .
OMG I just went over the last 2 threads, wth hell is wrong with the haters? They spend WAY TO MUCH time worrying about Angelina and Brad.In less than 3 weeks it will be 2008 people.Get over it already!!!

You seem to be confusing Angelina’s performance with Reese Witherspoon’s.
Pregnant women whose husbands are in jeopardy. Angelina played her part well while Reese… well, she just f@rted through.
Pooty’s out… Angie’s in.
Honestly i think that Jolie deosn’t deserve this nomination the movie floped and she stole the chance of a many many taletend black actresses only because she *** pitt this is not fair it’s really shameful
The blindness on this board is ridiculous. Most of you want Angie to win just because she is Angie. This movie and this role was not her best and definitely not the best out there being nominiated. Deal with it - and it has nothing to do with hate or any other individual. It is my opinion based upon my observation - what is your opinion based on? Wonder how many so called fans actually watched the movie - probably very few like the same amount that have purchased and read her book.
Congratulations to Angie for a fine performance and to Brad for producing such outstanding films!
Hello Bampzsters!
I am too upset about Brad’s non nomination so that’s why I will only watch the red carpet appearances and not the actual telecast and I hope the rating plumet for all these award shows will one day regain some credibility in the future…Just a little morning rant.
I have been obsessing over AMH. I watched it twice last week. Angie just draws you into the her and the panic throughout the film is resounding…
I am very disgusted with Clooney’s nomination. Why don’t they just give him the reward since that’s what there intentions are since he kisses all things entertainment a##.
Anywhoo…I wish all a good day!
Now we have to wait and see if the GGs get a waiver from WGA.
I am so happy for Angie because AMH means so much to her and she put her heart and soul into. So she, Brad, Plan B, Micheal W., Mariane, Adam, Danny’s parents, and the cast and crew can all be proud of the final result.
And if more people rent or buy the dvd the message gets out there even more and that is always a good thing, IMO.

OMG here comes all the crazies bashing Angie cause she got a nom for AMH, which was well deserved. Some people really need to get a life and stop hating on people you don’t know. She was fantastic in AMH and deserved this nomination, so deal with it
So shameful ,Fan
The same could be said about cate’s nomination for Elizabeth. It wasn’t a strong performance and was savaged by critics and didn’t do good at box office either. I have seen A mighty heart and i think angelina’s nomination is deserved.
congrats.

Some people really need to understand what being an actor means. It’s about showcasing you TALENT — NOT about if the movie is a blockbuster.
Too many losers think the bottomline is all that matters.
The haters are so pathetic. Say what you want because your input don’t count. She’s nominated so deal with it.

Hey moron, some of the nominated movies didn’t even hit the theater yet and some are still in limited released. So your argument is invalid. It has nothing to do with boxoffice number.

How many times we ask you not come here?
We don’t care about her.
Congratulations to our Angie and Brad! I am so happy for her. I just heard the good news.
blinded by hatred? blinded by misguided adoration? what’s the difference? It seems that very few people who contribute to these blogs are able to speak about any of this with any objectivity.
However, it’s good to see that there are some people here who can see that, perhaps, there are performances that were recognized that are far more deserving. Awards like this shouldn’t be given out based on popularity. Brad Pitt should not have been nominated, which is why he wasn’t. He’s probably a pretty nice guy, but he’s not an award-caliber actor.
Ha! is
blinded by hatred for Brad
Nice generalization. Where in what I said do you see that I hate him?

I am dissgusted too .
This is sooo stupid , she was nominated because she deserves it !! She has litle children , that`s why she doesn’t do inumerous films , and if you forgot , she has another amazing performances in the last years .

She did a lot of movies in the past 5 years and she was bad in almost every one. Remember Mr. & Mrs Smith? Good Shepherd wasn’t better. I don’t say she’s a bad actress, but at the moment there are so many better actresses who deserve the chance to win a golden globe a lot more than AJ! AND she isn’t as good as she was earlier, remember GIA or Girl, interrupted? It’s just the wrong moment for a nomination i think.
Brad and Angelina should be crowned King and Queen of New Orleans They are bringing attention to something that needs to be done in this country. It isn’t glamorous but it’s truly going to help thousands of regular everyday people.
Don’t be stupid. What did julia did in the past 3 years ? nothing her performance was dubbed the worst everwhen she did the broadway. But she still got nominated for the movie that didn’t even come out
. Angie was great in Mr and Mrs and was great in the good shepred. She is excellent inAMH. Get over it don’t hate. She deserve to be there. Even ET magazine said she really can act.
I thought everybody hated Angelina and LOOOOOOOOOOVED brad pitt? eh? I guess they love Gorgeous George a little more.

HOW THE HELL IS IT A WRONG TIME FOR A NOMINATION WHEN MOST CRITICS HAVE BEEN SINGING HER PRAISES FOR HER PERFORMANCE IN AMH? When was the last time that happened to Angie? During Gia, GI days. The critics even went as far as to say that her performance in AMH is her best to date. Angie TOTALLY deserved this nomination.
Well i haven’t seen Angie’s movie so i can’t really judge, but i will be happy just as long as keira knightly doesn’t get it!!

The point is not that she isn’t as good as she was when she did GI or Gia , is just that she didn’t do movies that required from her the best that she can do , but in a Mighty Heart she is phenomenal , and there is no question about it .
Jeez! Congratulations Angelina! :)
Love you more babie. Today am hearing good news only :D
Angelina is the Best!!!!!!!!
Angie’s nomination for her role as Marian Pearl in AMH is not a surprise at all!…Moreso if she wins!… Her acting there is perfect…She didn’t overact or do some melodramatic acting….You don’t see her real persona but Marian in AMH… Her role is not that simple, to change your accent, your looks, etc is difficult….Most of all, to portray somebody who is still alive is I think the most difficult part of all.
Angie, i think is not very concerned of the awards she’ll be getting or not. For her, what’s important is to get the message of the movie across, that it is possible that one person, inspite of everything, cannot be blinded by hate.
Angie is I already a multi-awarded actress, so she doesn’t have to prove how good she is. She even said in one of her interviews that she never display her awards at home (maybe because she wants to remain grounded & not to put superficial things on her head).
To win awards for AMH is, like what she said, is just an icing on the cake. However, I hope & pray that she will really win for her outstanding performance on that movie. I hope her being the Angelina Jolie (favorite tabloid topic) doesn’t deprive her of a well-deserved win.

Chill..
One thing for sure Angie and Their kids love Brad, and really that’s all that matters.
((((((Congratulation JP!!))))))) I so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Brad ever did the campaigning that George Clooney does, he would be nominated without a doubt. George plays the HW game so well, all PR and azz kissing, even some acting with the papz for more exposure.
Why do you think all of a sudden he’s everywhere with his hired girlfriend? It’s awards time.
Brad doesn’t play that game…he’s got pride at least so I admire him more. He’s happy for his Angie and that’s all that counts with him. If there was any justice, he’d be nominated for an Oscar. He wiped the floor with Georgie boy in Venice. He should be acknowledged at the very least for his performance so boo for WB. They’re vindictive skunks. They’re p*ssed that Brad left them for Paramount.

I’m not sure If You know this But Brad has been nominated for, and won some awards in His career.. So I guess He is an award caliber Actor
Congrtulations, Angie. I am so happy to hear your nomination. Hope and pray that you win in which I am confident that you will considering how good of an actress you are. An excellent one!
we knew it!!!! Congrats, Angie! You are already the winner in my eyes :)
Let’s see how many recognitions Angie has gotten for AMH now.

-Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actress

-Chicago Film Critics award nomination for Best Actress
-BFCA award nomination for Best Actress

Took the words right out of my mouth…Even his humanitarism erks me…Just saying, my opinion only. I don’t even think of him as Brad’s friend but friendenemy as Tyra put it…Thanks!
She will always over power Brad when it comes to work and this will in the long run tear up their relationship. I know alot of fans on here think he doesn’t care LOL but that is bull. Everybody that knows Brad knows that is what he has been after since beginning acting. He wants that Oscar. Don’t be fooled. LOL
hope she wins

No, you’re right. He was nominated 12 years ago for 12 Monkeys. I guess maybe I just don’t see a whole lot in his performances, personally. He does that whole mysterious/mischevious, rugged, misunderstood thing over and over again (Legends of the Fall, A River Runs Through it, Meet Joe Black, Thelma & Louise, even 12 Monkeys). He’s pretty to look at, though.
The faith is winning guys. Lets hope and pray that she wins it! Keep the faith fans!!!!!

Yeah, she over powered him last year. LOL.
And if I have the story right, Brad’s the one that cast her in AMH. Yes, MP wanted her and would have gotten who she wanted. But, WB had put AMH on the back burner, so Brad went to Brad Grey and said, let’s get this movie made. And Paramount Vantage, is the one that got it made by Brad’s pushing for it. And then it became a joint effort for both Brad and Angelina.
Congrats to Angelina and congrats to Casey and congrats to Plan B.
And for people saying she didn’t deserve the nomination. LMAO! From the moment the movie screened at Cannes, she was being touted for awards season for her performance.

THANK YOU. Where were all these people all these months? Didn’t they see the many reviews that praised Angie’s performance? HELLO?
First, one picture but all the women were listed. Second, JJ also listed the sight where everything and everybody is named. Perhaps some of you need to learn to read all the way to the END of the article.
# 100 Mr and Mrs Smith @
The Independent Spirit Awards have been announced already? I wasn’t aware of that. Did AMH get a nod for best picture? Neither of the directors of AMH or TAOJJ were nominated. Was TAOJJ nominated for cinematogaraphy or musical score? If not this is really pissing me of.
Why is GC getting so many nominations? His movie wasn’t reviewed well. And it hasn’t set the BO on fire. So what is the deal? GC over Brad? TAOJJ was reviewed well. Brad won besst actor at the Venice Film Festival. It didn’t make money because WB didn’t promote it, and only opened it in about 359 theaters. And you needed a map to find those. WTF? Okay call me cynical, but here goes. And please if you disagree that is okay. We just don’t have to fight about it. But is it just me or has anyone else thought about it. Oscars nominations come out in January right? George is going to Darfur in January. Is this called promoting one’s self? Just asking?
Hollywood sucks big time. Peace
wonder why AMH wasn’t nominated…

Believe me the haters knows this. They were hoping that everyone would forget since AMH came out in the summer. Remember how they went on and on about how no one would give AMH a second thought when the fall movie season hit. Now they are trying to cover their behinds once again, since they were proven wrong!
i am so happy for the jps.congrats to Angie and plan B and to Brad. I loved her in that movie.thanks Brad for having faith in Angie to play the part.and also thanks to M.P. my hope and prayers are with you that you win.but in my eyes you and Brad are already winners.
“when he’s old?” Won’t be long, then! He’s too old for a 32 year old wifey as it is
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Brad will never be too old for Angelina. Talk about Catherine and Michael
Christian Bale should have gotten a nomination instead of George Clooney. What the h*ll?

To be fair, Michael Clayton was well-reviewed.
But Why Did I Get Married? did kick Michael Clayton’s @$$ the opening weekend, doing twice the business in 1000+ less theaters.
CONGRATULATIONS ANGIE…whether she wins or not, we all know she’s the best and can act. WOW, you gonna hear it from the jealous chiniston, by the way, when did she got nominated? you can only put her in comedies because she’s a joke.
Too bad for Brad,I’m curious have there been any couples where both were nominated for best actor/actress in a drama at the GG’s
# 121
43 is not old, why don’t you go talk to Ashton
What about producers? Was Plan B nominated for any producers awards? I guess winning last year might have been too much.
I congratualte Angie. Because a win for her, is a win for Brad and Plan B. He wanted her in the movie because he knew she would do a great job. And she lived up to his expectations. So it is a win for both of them. Peace
Angelina deserves it! Her portrayal of Marianne was amazing. Congrats everyone behind this movie.
When they tell Angelina that her husband had died & she walks inside the house & into the bedroom & starts screaming & crying…that alone deserves an oscar. that scene made me cry with her. what a strong woman!
she was so ridiclous with that wig and her fake skin , poor black talented actresses .
Congratulations, Angie! I saw AMH twice and she was just amazing in it.
One troll who keep changing names here probably have not seen this movie. If she did, the movie probably went over her head. Too intelligent for her to comprehend.
I think it’s down to Angie and Julie for the Oscar win. Angie will be definitely nominated, but they may give to Julie because of her age.
Too bad about Brad. I thought he was fabulous in Jess James movie as well.
piper, with a low
Piper, you might be right. But I read at least three, possibly more, and they said that there was nothing differnt about it. That it was similar to a lot of stories that had been done already, and better. I can’t remember where I read these, but they were not positive. That is what I based my comments on. They also said that GC’s performance wasn’t that impressive. Peace.
To all you very deluded people who think Jolie will win, she won’t. It’s pretty much going to Julie Christie’s heart wrenching performance in Away From Her.
LMAO, this brings back memories of when I laughed at the scene when she found out that Danny died. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”. It sounded like a bad ******.
orgásm.
Bravo Angie!!!. Congratulations.
Thanks JJ for this new thread.
Yay, go Angie!! She better win b/c:
- She’s the best
2. Keira Knightly majorly sucks in Atonement
C. Elizabeth is a snore fest
5. Who the hell is Julie Christie
VI Does anyone even care about Jodie Foster
*** I wanna see some hardcore “Pitt P0rn”
I think it is great that she got nominated. If she wins that will be a bonus. I can’t say whether she deserves to win since I have not seen the other nominees performance .
Case in point of a troll who haven’t seen the movie or the movie is too complex for her little head, “Regina” person.

You’re pathetic…not only is she the best in the category, you saying you don’t know her clearly shows that you haven’t seen her great performance in Away From Her.
Learn how to spell Knightley before you bash her.
And I care a lot for Foster, one of the best actresses her age.
You’re commenting on the film, not Blanchett’s performance. Which is stupid because Blanchett was wonderful as usual.

She already a win. She’s gonna win it! I dare you! ;)

Noticed I said the word ‘win’ and I’m not talking about her nomination. It was obvious she’d get nominated because of the weak year. I mean Foster and Blanchett got in as well and their films got mixed reviews.
Congrats to Angie! Well deserved nomination, and to Casey Affleck.
Unless Clooney has done a 360 degree turn around in his acting abilities, in no way, shape, or form, does he deserve this nomination for Best Actor.
THanks Jared.
.
When Angelina Jolie was a guest @ Charlie Rose, she was articulate about her role as Marianne Pearl in the critically acclaimed AMH. Even then, she was being buzzed for an Oscar Nomination. There is no question that she can act.
.
Golden Globe is a start. Congratulations !
Good morning, BAMPZS fans!
Hi there, Yes, sweetie, saw your shout-out, but was just so busy could only lurk, couldn’t post (also, am still having a hard time with my laptop!) Anyway, hugs and kisses!
WOOOOWEEEE! Angelina got nominated at the GG! Did most fans call it or did most fans call it right! But of course, the naysayers and fanistons have to rain on our parade and try to dis the nomination. Oh well, who cares about them?
Too bad Brad wasn’t nominated, but he did get a nom last year, so this year it was Angelina’s turn. Am not too thrilled about George Clooney’s nom, but have to accept the good with the bad.
Hope the GGs would be given the waiver to broadcast, like the SAGs.
Look Helena,
Julie was wonderful in Away From Her, but so was Angie. Oscar will be Julie or Angie, although Marion was quite wonderful as well. I think Julie is going to win because of her age. If you really, objectively saw Angie’s performance in AMH, you will also see the beauty in her performance. I don’t know you, but you seemed to have your personal feelings against Angie cloud your judgment of her acting.

IA. I have nothing against GC but for me he hasn’t shown me that he can leave GC at the door and become the character. I always see GC on screen.
#103: If they knew Brad so well, how come they’re surprised, no make that shocked that he chucked his ball and chain for Angie? If they can tell what he’s like, how come they didn’t think he was going to stay with Angie up to this time? Didn’t they keep predicting the end of this so called fling three years ago?
Please, you know Brad like you do you your own man which is also bull since you don’t have a man.
He’s never once tried outshadowing Angie. Not one time because he steps back and gives her the stage. Do you see the pride in his face when he escorts her anywhere or do you just disregard his actions cause it pains you? He won’t stand in her way and every award she gets, especially for AMH is a tribute to his foresight in casting her. He could have appeared in the same movie if he wanted to since it’s his production. Who can say no to him in that instance?
Angie likewise has toned down her looks and her demeanor for Brad. If you’ve ever read the Gift of the Magi, you would know what these two are about. For them, love trumps everything. This is not a Star is Born. They’ll both bow out of the limelight before that happens. So please, if you think that’s what’ gonna split them up, you’d better not bet on it. You’ll lose just like with every bet you trolls have been making for the last three years. Better stick to delusions. You’re no good at analysis or predictions.
Geez, he doesn’t even dress in his golden boy garb anymore. He dresses in jeans and t-shirts with his ugly hat most of the time. Is that the guy who’s vanity far outweighs his pride in his woman?
I think this deserves to be reposted:
“blinded by hatred? blinded by misguided adoration? what’s the difference? It seems that very few people who contribute to these blogs are able to speak about any of this with any objectivity.”
It seems to go both ways.
#155 yeah!same oh ,same oh,

Why do people always bring in BO. Who cares? Some of the best movies of the year didn’t do well in the BO. Sadly, no one’s interested in them, they go for crappy Why Did I Get Married? or Chuck and Larry instead
Hmmm, George Clooney got nominated? For a not really outstanding performance?
Gee, Brad, maybe you should take lessons from GC on as*-kissing so that you could be nominated too. George is so wonderful at doing politics, he gets a freakin’ peace award for going to Darfur once, whereas Angelina goes to more dangerous places and she gets accused of fame-wh*ring. Sheesh, maybe both Brad and Angie should hire Clooney’s publicist.
complete list
http://omg.yahoo.com/pages/golden-globes/1
I did have some on the list…..
Angelina Jolie- (she deserves it she was great in AMH)
Cate Blanchette- (they love her and she’s exquisitely talented)
Casey Affleck- (he was wonderful in A.Jesse James)
(I still think Brad should have gotten a nomination, he was quite amazing in the role)Maybe next year for something.
Amy Adams- Enchanted(She was wonderful)
Denzel- A. Gangster(phenomenal)they love him too.
It was good to see John Hamm from MAD MEN nominated, that is one of the best shows on TV.
Also Congrats to David Duchoveny for Californication, it’s a really good show, he is great in it.
Sorry Josh Brolin wasn’t nominated, but he’s just geting on the radar, he’s quite a good actor. Maybe for SAG Awards, we’ll see Brad, Josh Brolin,Crowe all put in good performances.
Crowe was phenomenol in 3:10 to Yuma, should get nominated somewhere, SAG maybe.
Brad on Fox News Channel in a few minutes
Brad was nominated Best Actor by the London Film Critics. Much less Hollywood political than the Golden Globes. I bet he wins. Don’t know when the awards are given out but I bet Brad and Angie will attend.

The one thing that this year has shown is that no one is a lock. Julie Christie, Marion C., Ellen Page and yes, even Angelina have been given awards for their performances by different organizations.
And some people may not have a clue who Julie Christie is because of the person’s age vs. Christie’s age. She hasn’t been working alot in recent years and she was huge in the years she was with Warren Beatty. I happen to think she was outstanding in Away From Her. I also think that Marion C. was outstanding in La Vie En Rose and that Angelina was outstanding in AMH. Cate did a fine job in Elizabeth, but, the movie wasn’t as well reviewed or received as the first. I haven’t seen The Brave One, so I can’t comment. But, Jodie’s terrific in everything. So, I’m sure was in The Brave One.
Amy Ryan’s reaction to her GG nomination.
“I’m going to work at 8 a.m. with Mr. Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie, so maybe Angelina and I will have a holler and a hoot together.” Amy Ryan, nominated for supporting actress for “Gone Baby Gone.” She is now working on Eastwood’s “The Changeling.” Jolie was nominated in the dramatic actress category for “A Mighty Heart.”
Awww..Amy and Angelina can celebrate together.
Also as I mentioned before Angelina has been quietly filming away without having to deal with the stalkerazzi on set.
I remember reading from a column of Ruben Napales, who watched AMH at Cannes, to quote him ( from Philippine Daily Inquirer dated 5/25/07:
“…After the last of the closing credits rolled & the lights went back on, a packed audience gave a standing ovation to Angelina…& the key talents of the film. Angelina might have had a very strong shot at being Cannes Best Actress but since the film is entered out of competition, she is not eligible.”
Majority of the critics really praised her performance.
To quote a Washington Post staff writer named Ann Hornaday:
“…Jolie is a star of such super-stratospheric proportions that the chances of her disappearing into a character role would seem slim at best. But it turns out that she is the perfect choice to play Mariane, not only because she delivers a restrained, understated performance but because her persona as a citizen of the world — as a U.N. representative, activist and mother — so seamlessly meshes with the global consciousness that the Pearls represent. She blends just as seamlessly with “A Mighty Heart’s” fine ensemble of supporting actors, including Panjabi and Will Patton as U.S. consul Randall Bennett.(Mariane’s quietly appalled gaze as Bennett extols the virtues of Pakistan’s notorious interrogation methods is a moment of physical eloquence typical of Jolie’s astute, vanity-free performance.)
Other reviews:
“..The most flattering thing to say about Jolie’s performance is that for the most part, you forget that it’s her. She underplays her megawatt charisma and channels it into a measured performance. She’s mesmerising as she plays Mariane with a dignified calm, even in the face of potentially overwhelming tragedy. Her accent is excellent, replete with mispronunciations and stumbling.”–Zane Henry (11/2/07)
“Jolie blends in beautifully with a large cast. She sports a tricky accent worthy of Meryl Streep, but this is not even remotely a showy role. But few will forget her anguished cry of pain when the terrible truth that Daniel had been beheaded was broadcast over the Internet to the entire world. Beautifully, that same cry of pain is echoed a few minutes later, when Mariane is seen giving birth.
- Michael Giltz ,The Avvocate.com - May 22,2007
“Dramatically, it contains the most impressive performance of Angelina Jolie’s career. she is electric in the part.”
-James Christopher, The Times OnLine – May 24,2007
“Pitt’s partner Angelina Jolie won rave reviews for “A Mighty Heart”, in which she plays the widow of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was decapitated by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in 2002.”
– Deborah Cole, AFP About France 24-27/05/07
“Jolie’s portrayal of Pearl — who was six months pregnant when her husband was abducted — has been the subject of some controversy due to some mild cosmetic elements — her hair is curlier, her skin slightly darkened to convey the real Mariane Pearl’s Cuban-French heritage — but there’s nothing insensitive or overdone in the mild make-up artistry of the part; the inner performance is what shines out.
- James Rocchi,Cannes Review: A Mighty Heart - May 22nd 2007
“Jolie has a powerful scene in which she lets out a shriek of grief that will be recognized wherever people suffer from terror and loss.”
- By Ray Bennett ,The Hollywood Reporter - May 22, 2007
“Angelina Jolie’s portrayal of Mariane Pearl was very impressive.
I was moved by her performance an incredibly tear jerking and striking moment was Mariane’s reaction in the scene where she received the fateful news. Jolie’s characterization was so powerful and resonant it continued to linger in my mind long after the film’s end.”

-EMANUEL LEVY- Film Review
“If Angelina Jolie doesn’t win an award for her portrayal of Mariane Pearl in “A Mighty Heat,” I will be shocked.
The movie was emotionally draining, especially the part where she is told about Daniel’s death. Jolie’s reaction had many in tears and is probably the best performance of her career.”
- SANDY TOMCHO , Times Herald Record -June 1,2007

-LEXI FEINBERG, Cinema Blend Review June 2,2007
#140: So, if it goes to Julie Christie, then it should go to her. After all, how many years does Angie have to turn in another great performance. Maybe Angie will win in The Changeling and Brad in Benjamin Button. That should make trolls cry for a while at least and make the JPs ever present in the world of cinema for a long, long time.

#162: Not as personal as you trolls. At least I don’t live vicariously through a TV hack who’s won the lottery by landing Brad Pitt. I don’t role play or fantasize like you guys that he is my man who was stolen from me by some devious woman.
When you guys are slapped in the face with reality, you cry foul. Wuss! Don’t dish it out if you can’t take blowback.
Just stopping by quickly, to congratulate Angelina for her GG nomination. A truly well-deserve recognition. I hope she’ll win - Of course, we all know that awards like this, are not really the motivating factor when they made AMH movie.
I’m just so disappointed that Brad was not nominated on his movie TAOJJ.- I thought his acting was superb, and the movie is such a great piece of cinematic art…I guess the Hollywood Foreign Press missed out a good opportunity to recognize serious good movies…
On the other hand, I hope Viggo Mortenson (on Eastern Promises) wins the best actor nomination on the drama category. I just think that he did a brilliant work - not to mention, his naked scene wrestling/fighting with two Russian mobs in a Russian bathouse, is not for nothing (the movie is quite intense, that only an auteur filmmaker like David Cronenberg, and a brilliant actor, like Viggo Mortenson can do it)….Congratulations to the rest of the nominees in all categories…
Hello to all the JP fans….

She is not even in the race to win this, but it was a nice film. Keira and Julie are the ones who are battling it out.
I hope the strike will continue, so there will be no GG show. GG sucks.

Brad was just on Fox News. He had his newsboy cap on. It was a good interview. He discussed the same stuff we have heard before. At one point she accidently refereed to his wife and kids and then corrected herself and said that Angelina is his girlfriend. Brad said it is all the same so to me he is clear that he sees her as his spouse whether they are married or not.
Hey Thanks for the heads up on the fox interview with Brad.. It was so sweet.. He truly glowed this Morning.. So Handsome and well informed and escited for this Project..
It was so funny the girl said the one question all the women wanted to ask besides asking you out on a date, which we know is impossible Because You have that goreous Wife and those adorable children… Than She said I’m sorry I know She’s Your Girlfriend Not Wife and Brad Said “Awww Its all the Same” !!! :)
I hope others caught it… It went against my rules of the house in watching fox but for Brad Anything.. LOL

Amy Ryan seems like she has loads of talent. She is kicking Cate’s butt in these critics awards. I wouldn’t be surprised if she took the big O when it’s all said and done. She did theatre before film/movies right? Maybe that has helped to fine tune and perfect her acting to some degree?

LONDON FILM CRITICS @ 12/13/2007 at 12:22 pm
That’s because Keira and Christie were placed in a different category. I thought their absence was odd and then I gave the list another look and found them.
British Actress of the Year
Samantha Morton – Control (Momentum)
Julie Christie – Away From Her (Metrodome)
Keira Knightley – Atonement (Universal)
Helena Bonham Carter – Sweeney Todd (Warner)
Sienna Miller – Interview (The Works)
Good luck to Keira seems like she is going to need it.
#169: I hear you soopx. They are not used to HW couples who have no problem with one outearning or outshining the other. Brad is tired of the limelight but he still loves acting. He’s probably content for Angie to be the star in the family for once.
Angie however, don’t want the spotlight without him there with her so they are always together anywhere. I think that is so sweet of them. Each of them toning down their Hollywoodness and just focusing on being ordinary for the sake of their family and unity.
—
I haven’t seen Gone Baby Gone (because of it’s controversy in the UK), but yeah she’s sweeping the critics. But if you look back in 2004/2005, Virginia Madsen sweeped the critics and Portman took home the globe. Blanchett (funnily enough) ended up winning the SAG and the oscar! It would be funny if it’s the situation this year.
Then in 2005/2006, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams won most of the critic awards, Rachel Weisz only won one and ended up winning the Globe, SAG and Oscar! But last year, Jennifer Hudson swept the critic and pre-cursor awards, unfortunately.
I hope she wins, but if Keira wins i will be happy aswell.
why is doing this woman next to Miss Blanchett?it’s almost an offense!ANgelina is not an actress!she is so bad!
I’m completely disgusted that Brad did not receive a nomination. He was phenomenal. GC, Julia Roberts –-I had a WTF moment –getting a nom based solely on azz kissing!
Anyway, on a better note, I’m very happy for Angelina and Brad for his Plan B. Hopefully with this nomination, more people will see the movie (perhaps they’ll re-release it in the US) and the message Marianne, Brad and Angelina tried to convey will be heard by more people, which is the main reason the movie got made.
She will win, Anyway she’s a winner to me! :)
Love Angie, keep up the good work! You’re fabulous
***
congratulations to angelina, she deserves the recognition. to the people who are saying she just sat through the movie, you couldn’t have seen the entire movie. just because and actor isn’t chewing up the set doesn’t mean they aren’t acting, i would assume it is much harder to convey emotion and depth in a quiet way and yet angelina did just that. i think she did a great job of showing marianne’s hope, fear, resolve, dignity, and sorrow. she gave this part the respect and depth it required and i am very glad she is being recognized for it.
Yay, go Angie!! She better win b/c:
- She’s the best
2. Keira Knightly majorly sucks in Atonement
C. Elizabeth is a snore fest
5. Who the hell is Julie Christie
VI Does anyone even care about Jodie Foster
*** I wanna see some hardcore “Pitt P0rn”
******************************************************
5. Who the hell is Julie Christie? Well Julie Christie is an Academy Award winning actress. She’s has been in many major motion pictures such as Dr. Zhivago and Darling for which is won her Oscar. She is a excellent actress who has been around for many years. She was and still is a great beauty. Before Angelina there was Julia Christie.

Thanks so much for the recap Julia. We all knew that Brad and Angie see themselves as married couple….. they are in a committed relationship.
Big props to Brad for keeping the Make It Right project in forefront !

I am sad that the movie wasnt nominated for Best screenplay DF deserved that nom at least!
http://goldderby.latimes.com/awards_goldderby/2007/12/what-to-think-o.html
With Marion Cotillard (”La Vie en Rose”) pushed off to the comedy/musical race for actresses, that boosts Julie Christie’s (”Away from Her”) chances in the drama category, but Christie needs to be leery of Angelina Jolie (”A Mighty Heart”) and, if “Atonement” sweeps, Keira Knightley. Cotillard could face trouble from Ellen Page (”Juno”), Amy Adams (”Enchanted”) or Helena Bonham Carter (”Sweeney Todd”), but in her favor is that members of the foreign press may be predisposed to favor her portrayal of legendary French chanteuse Edith Piaf.
***************************
So, Angie could actually win over Julie Christie!

MIA at the Golden Globes
While nominating seven films for best drama picture at the Golden Globes, notably missing was “Into the Wild,” which led with the most Critics Choice Awards two days ago. Topping the list of acting snubs: Jack Nicholson (17 nominations, a record 6 wins, and the DeMille award) who was passed over for his role as a dying man on a mission to enjoy his last days in Rob Reiner’s “The Bucket List.”
Also missing from the nominations announced today: Nicole Kidman (7 nominations and 3 wins) who was hoping for a nod for “Margot at the Wedding” and Russell Crowe (5 nominations, 1 win) who ended up competing against himself when the Globes elevated his supporting turn in “American Gangster” into lead like his role in “3:10 to Yuma.” Angelina Jolie got nominated for “A Mighty Heart,” but not Brad Pitt for “Jesse James,” although I suspect voters must’ve figured that Brad might come to the show anyway if his honey did, eh?
*******************
I think thats unfair to Brad!
Brad never does these kinds of interviews for His movies.
Good morning Bampzs fans.
Well, congratulations Angie on your nomination! That’s great.
Now, I’m p*ssed off (I said I would be) that Brad was totally overlooked yet again for the great work he did this year! This is ridiculous! Was he even nominated for anything related to AMH? He should’ve been nominated for Best Actor as JJ. I know the committee or whoever is in charge saw the movie since Casey Affleck was nominated (well deserved)! But WTF??? You’ve got actors nominated in movies that haven’t even come out yet? Tom Hanks? Ellen Page? Charlie Wilson’s War and Juno? Brad Pitt was robbed! Oh, and there’s F*CKING George Clooney front and center, AGAIN!!! I’m so sick of this politics s*it! Yes “brad lover”, the GG suck!I hope the Oscars don’t overlook Brad this year. Ok, rant over, I just needed to get it off my chest.
Now, the only reason I’ll watch is to see if Angie wins, as she should this year. And she’ll have the best arm candy right by her side to support her, har honey Brad. :D
BTW, I know Brad doesn’t care about nominations, but as his fan, I do and I thought a little recognition would’ve been nice.
lmao :lol …the haters, fanistons and trolls are soooooooo losing their **** this morning, seriously they are chewing off their own arms - hahahaah…I am just sittin’ back munching popcorn an enjoying the show. :popcorn
….and brad very def should have been nominated, but I’ll hold out hope that the Oscars make it up to him for their snub last year. he should get a best producer nod for amh, and winterbottom should for director.
I’m happy that crowe wasn’t nominated….he’s a good actor but he sucked in AG…denzel was amazing..glad to see him get a nod.
Helena @ 12/13/2007 at 12:36 pm
I’m willing to look past your rudeness and namecalling…What’s the controversy in the Uk with G.B.G?
#200 & #203: So who cares if she Julie Christie wins the award. All we want is for them to walk the red carpet. She’s been nominated so she’s already been recognized and that’s enough for me.
However, as a kicker, that’s one more red carpet that the X won’t be walking on. Another blackeye for the trolls.
188- Tabitha:
Thanks for the recap. Awww…he sees Angie as his wife.
I knew she would get a nod (and most likely an Oscar nod), but I wasn’t completely blown away by her in AMH. Don’t get me wrong, I love Angie as an actress, but I am not so sure this was an Oscar winning performance. Worth a nod- absolutely, but not a win. I actually remember being more impressed with her co-stars than with her. But I say congrats to Angie. Receiving a nomination is a huge thing and I am sure she is glad that the film will get some more recognition.
Has anyone seen Atonement yet? That seems to be moving up as a front runner…
I heard that Jennifer Aniston will be a presenter at the GG this year.
Is there any truth to that? Does anyone know?
there going to be a lot of hurt feelings when she doesnt win.
raye @ 12/13/2007 at 12:44 pm
Not to be rude, but are you surprised? Look at the source…speaks volumes.
To be quite honest yes..Brad was really good in AOJJ, one of his finest in my opinion but he was never on the radar for any of these awards and it seems like WB never pushed for him or the movie for best picture. The only push has been for Casey it seems.
I don’t care if this was already posted.

________________________________________
That’s because this is a more important project to him and he wants to reach out to as many people as possible. Also, this should show that Brad is not a petty person. I really like that about him. He reminds me of my dad in that way because my dad is the type of person that even though he knows someone has said bad stuff about him in the past/present, or even if he knows that someone does not like him, he’ll never just walk by that person on the street. He’ll always say hi. I usually think he’s too good of a person because to me, if you hate me, don’t want to talk to me or have talked trash about me/or people close to me, I will not have anything to do with you.
Hey FL. Tell us how you really feel. Good afternoon to you. ;)
A lot of people are complaining about Brad’s oversight of a nod (I didn’t see AOJJ so I can’t comment on his performance)…but my opinion is that I really think that Brad seems to be one of those actors that has such a huge fanbase and his fans are loyal and love him to death, but the Academy and other people who decide nominations aren’t recognizing his acting ability.
I think he is awesome in certain roles (like 12 Monkeys, Seven, Babel), but he hasn’t caught on yet with the Academy. Look at how long it’s taken Johnny Depp to start receiving recognition as a talented actor.
Maybe Brad’s day is coming, but- I think a lot of actors don’t really base their career outcome on an Oscar. I think if that’s what an actor considers when picking roles (winning the Oscar), then why even call yourself an actor? I am sure it doesn’t really get to Brad and that he is happy enough to see Angie’s recognition at the GG.
So CONGRATS to Angie!!
223- the real tita:
However, as a kicker, that’s one more red carpet that the X won’t be walking on.
———————————————-
Hi! :D And when will she EVER get a chance to walk a RC? For anything SHE did? Please…
Thanks for the laugh.
I heard that Jennifer Aniston will be a presenter at the GG this year.

They don’t have presenters…
Congrats to Angie! Well deserved nominations!
As much as I want Angie to win, but at the end of the day Julie Christie will walk away with the award. I watched both performances and artistically speaking, Julie has shown more depth and emotions. Her acting is superb! And besides at her age, this might be her last hurrah at the awards show. So with that in mind, I think they will give it to her. Angie is young, she will have plenty of chances to score. That’s my take.
And for Mr George CLooney WTF!!! self promotion to no shame. I am appalled why he was nominated? Christian Bale in Rescue dawn was fantastic! He was passed over one more. About Brad, I’m a fan but honestly his role
in Jesse James is ok but not outstanding.
Peace to all.
I’m willing to look past your rudeness and namecalling…What’s the controversy in the Uk with G.B.G?

1. I’ve never namecalled or said anything rude…I have just given my opinion.
2. Gone Baby Gone controversy surrounds the fact that Gone Baby Gone’s plotline is similar to the disappearance of a little English girl named Madeleine McCann. Even more odd, the girl who plays the missing child in GBG is called Madeleine!
Who hands out the award then?
Hi Janice! Lol, I’m good now. Good morning from my side. I guess you’re on the East Coast?
HOW CAN A MOVIE THAT MADE NO MONEY GET A NOMINATION? AND HER ACTING SKILLS ARE SO HORRIBLE. THE ONLY THING SHE ACTS GOOD AT IS BEING WORTHLESS.
WHY are people thinking that we are going to be hurt if she doesn’t win? As I said in my earlier post, to me, BEING NOMINATED is good enough. She’s been recognized for her performance. Winning is icing on the cake.
People also keep forgetting that Angie already has THREE Golden Globe WINS under her belt. So, she’s not eager or desperate for this.
In my opinion, most of the awards group here in USA pertaining Hollywood are run by politic standard and also more on glamourizing it than achievements and talent. So I would’nt be surprise that Brad is ignored again.
Brad is a brilliant actor and decent man. To him, in my opinion, if he get an awards for his acting because he deserve it not because he goes out there or his publicist agressively campaigning for nominations. We know that his acting is award worthy specially his latest movie. We know that his a successful producer and his pick of movies to make are brilliant choices. So I’m not surprise about some of these awards group. Definitely just goes for glamour. The more movie star will attend their ceremonies the better whether they deserve it or not.

#185: Awwww, poor troll. Your fantasy world is bound to take a hit again when the PittpOrn parade comes into town. Don’t you just love it? Another assgrab by Bradley boy and maybe a real kiss this time on the RC. You’re dreading the announcement of a win for Angie, ain’t ya? You just know what she’s gonna do and say. You agree completely…when she won her Oscar, she gave it to her mom. So I don’t think Angelina gets caught up in all that crazy Oscar drama. When you look at the Academy nominations, they are picking what they believe are the top 5 best performances of the year. So to be in that group is an honor in itself. The nominations speak for themself- she’s getting recognition already!

Well, I’m sorry.
Helena: Angelina will probably win b/c she’s great in the role, its a powerful film, and its a popularity contest. I stand by what I said before and its all in good fun. I love Jodie too (Silence of the lambs is one of my top 5 fav movies), but this latest project wasn’t very high profile. Cate (strong performance and well-known actress) and Julie (great role in worthy vehicle) are fair contenders, I’ll concede that, but Keira (I-couldn’t-care-less-how-to-spell-her-last-name) Knightly was the weakest part of an over-hyped movie. The movie starts out well enough, primarily because of Saoirse Ronan, but the second half is crap and ultimately goes nowhere. Therefore I’m going with Angelina
2. Oh ok gotcha. Thank you. Has the controversy around the movie died down some? Are people still adversed to seeing it?

Don’t be too happy. Brad will break up with Angelina before Golden Globe. No more assgrabbing or pitt po*rn anymore.
# 65 so shameful @ 12/13/2007 at 10:19 am
Honestly i think that Jolie deosn’t deserve this nomination the movie floped and she stole the chance of a many many black actresses only because she *** pitt this is not fair it’s really shameful
******************************************************
I assume you had no problem when Forrest Whitaker won an Oscar for his role in “The Last King of Scotland”, which was critical success and bombed at the box office?
I don’t know why you are still yammering that Angelina “stole” her part from a black actor, when Marianne Pearl specifically selected Angelina for the part and said she wanted Angelina to play her in the movie.
You write like a five-year-old. There are no such words as “deosn’t”, “floped” or “taletend”, and you might want to try putting periods on the ends of your sentences — if you can tell where your sentences are supposed to end.
You really need to read more.

I have no idea. I stated months ago that I didn’t think Angelina was going to win and I’m fine with that. For me it’s the nomination that’s exciting and satisfying. Oh my golly..it’s that bad. Never knew. Much more informed now. Thanks. Perhaps if and when it all dies down (and who knows) then they will think about releasing it. It’s a shame really. Although not entirely the same situation it reminds me of the controversy surrounding The Golden Compass. It was still released despite the hoopla and viewers were given the opportunity to see for themselves.
Er, ‘Q’ is it? Don’t fall for the trolls trying to hysterically inject the TV sit-com hag Maniston into the GG’s *the day* ANGIE gets her nod…ahahaha - they are so painfully obsessed, obvious and stupid, but besides THAT…..first of all, even IF Maniston, for some reason had done something, ANYTHING, of note this year to warrant an invitation (she has not …surprise, surprise… :lol ), she is too much of a gutless pathetic triflin’ low self-esteemed yet narcissistic annoyance to do something that ballsy. the beech is waaaaay to scared and self-conscious.
Although hilarity would surely ensue when they announced, ‘Next up, Chin Maniston, former TV hack and co-star of the upcoming rom-com, ‘He’s Just Not That Into You,’ at which time they’d flash to Brad, at his table with Angie on his lap, he’d be wearing a dinner napkin on his head to hide the laughter.

i’ve never seen Julia in anything that I thought was an oscar winning performance, esp the role she won for. she dressed in short skirts and low cut blouses and pretty much gave a performance that melissa gilbert gives in the Lifetime channel.
seems anytime julia or George(im going to darfur for the second time)clooney burps, they give them an award.

i love angie, believe me, but she doesn’t deserve this nod.if you read carefully all reviews, you will see that many critics like her performance but don’t consider it for oscar.she did a good job, but to me, not so good to deserve this nomination.
it’s not Fox News constantly talking bad about Brad and Angie??
—————————————————–
No, they arent. Just that friedman entertainment guy. and he is rarely seen.
hello felinelilly, hope you are having a great day!
Of course Angelina got nominated :). Was there any question? All the rave critics reviews since the film came you, you’d have to be pretty dense to be all surprised by the nomination.
Loved that Viggo Mortenson got nominated. What a great & scary performance he gave. He’s been looking kind of scary in real life lately but, whatever..
People seemed to be genuinely confused or playing stupid for the fun of it but awards have nothing to do with box office. Did anyone see Julie Chrisie’s film? But she’s nominated and she’s a older woman so youth or aging has nothing to do with getting nominated. The Great Debaters hardly came out yet but it has been nominated.
Loved that Mad Men & 30 Rock were nominated. Very good television shows. Watch that Ellen Page in Juno she is the new phenom that will take over everything.
I’m more interested in Angelina’s nomination for the Spirit awards. I really hope she wins that because she emodies the independent spirit that the awards embodies. For those stupid people attmepting to divide Brad & Angelina professionaly, their careers are intertwined with each other as in their personal lives. Brad was nominated last year for babel and Angelina supported him. Brad will do the same for Angelina and if she does win, I’m sure she will acknowledge Brad as producing AMH and to Marianne for writing the book. Without those two, no movie , therefore, no nomination so no award. But without Angelina in the role, no recognition so everything is intertwined like it or not.
As far as Brad being on Fox, he is not on FOX NEWSCHANNEL he is on a Fox telvision station like American Idol is on Fox and like Good Day LA, Good Day NY are on Fox stations. There is a difference.
Later…..

I am, thank you. I was disappointed earlier about Brad being overlooked again, but it’s all good now. Same to you, by the way, have a great day.
why didn’t Lainey rule out Angelina Jolie as Holiday Detox? It must be Angelina.
I’m glad AJ is nominated. I just saw the movie last weekend, I thought she did a wonderful job. In all fairness, I haven’t really seen the performances of the other actresses in her category, so don’t know if she is the best, but she is the best that I have seen ;)
AJ WON already she has Brad and his babies… :-p
STILL, this is recognition for not only an amazing performance…but the guts it took to do the role in the face of all the naysayers, tabloid hacks, and TV hack PR agents trying to sabotage and gossip about this film IN THE FIRST PLACE…most actresses would have said…no thanks, this is way too much heat…but she kept her eye on the prize and that was making Marianne, Daniel and Adam (as well as Brad and Michael Winterbottom) proud….to do Marianne’s story justice. Period.
She is a brave, and strong and true AND TALENTED. Though other performances could ultimately take the ‘win’ …they certainly weren’t as risky, IMO as Angelina’s. not near as risky.
That said, I just can’t WAIT for more red carpet passion and azz grabbin’!!!…(I think ange and brad have already been on more RC’s than he and the TV sitcom hag…whaddya think??….just like they’ve ‘technically’ spent more time together too)

WTF are you talking about? Get with the program and stop drinking the counterfeight kool aid that lamey dishes out
Hi everyone…I just finished watching AMH and I feel transformed by this beautiful piece of storytelling about a subject that is very difficult to understand and grasp in today’s media choked world. I’m in such awe that BP & AJ had the consciousness to capture Marianne Pearl’s story so well, and to courageously get this message out: We need to understand more points of view than our own, feel more deeply for others (and ourselves!) and do whatever we can to reach for integration. Bottom line is AJ’s work for education in the humanitarian efforts to which she has dedicated her life. My prayer is that AJ & BP continue to live for that higher vision and continue to light our lives in a supreme example of getting past this tabloid media existence so many fall for…and live our life’s love — always staying focused on the big picture — making a good life while helping as much as we can with the resources and moments we are given. We have so much to share, and give… Isn’t that what makes the world go ’round? Bravo AJ and Bravo Plan B!!! This is a heart opening movie - and Thank You Marianne Pearl for helping us see through your loss to the high ground of LOVE.
I am really disappointed in the HFPA for ignoring TAOJJBTCRF — it is hands-down the best film of the year IMO — sublime! and Brad should have been nominated everywhere. I am pleased for Casey and I am sure it is some vindication for Brad but it really sucks that the film and BP weren’t nominated. Thankfully the London Film Critics get it. Also, American Gangster is really not a very good film!
KUDOS and brava to Angelina and Amy Ryan!
congrats to brad and plan b

Damn, you are not that bright. Every blind item, is Angelina, according to people like you. One BIG clue that it isn’t her. The Changeling hasn’t wrapped yet. There are more in there. But, you seem to need an anvil to hit your head.

I have no idea how many RCs Brad and X attended together because I wasn’t paying attention then, but I’ve definitely lost count of how many times Brad and Angie attented together. All I remember is the Pitt P*rn. :D
cliniqua,you are right
Was Brad nominated for anything related to AMH? Or just Angie? I’m asking because people keep congratulating him and his producing company.
♥♥♥CONGRATULATION TO ANGIE FOR THE NOMINATION ALSO CONGRATULATION TO BRAD FOR SUPPORTING HIS GREAT LOVE MOTHER OF HIS KID♥♥♥
If you didn’t see Michael Clayton then you can’t speak about George’s nomination. He was the entire film. Awesome. Stop the hate y’all, it’s not cute.
I think Charlie Wilson’s war has not opened yet but got nominate so Frenchy is right about awards not being about box office. That movie is expected to be a blockbuster. Julia Roberts sinks her horse teeth into this role as Texas socialite Joanne Herring. Congrats to her. The real life Joanne is 100 times the personality of Roberts.
A big Yay and congrats to Casey Affleck on his nomination.
London Film Critics have nominated both Angie for AMH and Brad for Jessie James as best actors. No Hollywood politics in London. Don’t know when those awards are given out but I sure hope we see some more Jolie Pitt RC action.
As far as Brad being on Fox, he is not on FOX NEWSCHANNEL
——————————————————–
I saw him on fox news
Frenchy, Yo are incorrect concerning Brad appearing on Fox News. He was interviewed live via sattelite by a fox News national anchor not a local affiliate anchor. I was watching Fox news not my local fox station.
Congrats to Angelina, again! This is wonderful. I can hardly wait for the awards.
Hello to all the JP fans. Happy Thursday!
She is so ugly. Brad should leave her as soon as possible. Brad and Cate should be together.
Congratulations to Angelina for the recognition of her wonderful portrayal of Marianne Pearl. This project was an amazing joint collaberation on the part of Brad and Angelina. They wanted to do right by Marianne and indeed they did. Looking forward to the red carpet!
Comgratulations my beautiful Angel! + good luck!

don’t forget, the coattail rider had ten years of going to A-list RCs and I’m sure she she squirmed her way into every single one of them. that was the point she had of being with Brad in the first place
I think all the actors will boycott the GG’s because of the writers strike if it’s still going on.
Brad has already shown his support by dropping out of State of Play and if he’s not going to cross the picket line, then you know Angelina won’t. The ratings may be the lowest ever if no one shows up.
Who cares about the London Film Critics?
What matters is the Oscars and the Golden Globes.
Ok, she just won it. Guaranteed.
no way should cate B been nominated for Elizabeth, I like her but she wasnt that good in the sequel.

Golden Globe nominees speak out
Nominees share their reactions
By JEFF SNEIDER, STUART LEVINE
Posted: Thurs., Dec. 13, 2007, 6:45am PT
On attending the ceremony: “I’m gonna have to make some calls and talk to some of the other nominees in the category to figure what we should do. I kinda wanna talk to Tom Hanks about it because I imagine he always does the right thing.”
- Ryan Gosling, nommed for actor, comedy/musical for “Lars and the Real Girl”
Tim (Burton)’s assistant gave us the news. We’re in the hospital because I’m supposed to have a baby tomorrow. I don’t know about the ceremony. We haven’t really gotten that far. I think we’ve got a big thing to get through first and then we’ll see.”
-Helena Bonham Carter, nommed for actress, comedy/musical for “Sweeney Todd”
On crossing picket lines): “I don’t think I’d want to do that. It’s an environment I wouldn’t want to stick my nose into. I’m not from this country and for me to stick my nose and throw my small weight around wouldn’t be right.”
- James McAvoy, drama actor, “Atonement”
[As for the ceremony,] I’m completely supportive of the writers and I hope it’s resolved soon in a completely fair way.”
- Ellen Page, nommed for actress, comedy/musical for “Juno”
“This whole year has been a new experience. I’ll probably get a good look at it after the dust settles. It’s hard to take praise without sharing without the director. No perf happens with just the actor.”
-Casey Affleck, supporting actor, “The Assassination of Jesse James”
It would be very hard for me to cross a WGA picket line. Everybody will have the same problem. It’s very unfornuate and an issue that won’t go away.
- David Cronenberg, director of drama “Eastern Promises”
“There’s no way I would cross a picket line. Not only in respect to Matt, but I’m in 100% agreement with him in this fight. It would be a drag not to go but you have to take a stand.”
- Jon Hamm, best actor in TV drama, “Mad Men”
“I would never cross a picket line.”
- Glenn Close, nominated for TV drama actress, “Damages”
Regarding the WGA strike and crossing a picket line to attend: “I don’t know about whether or not I’ll be attending because to be honest with you, I don’t know a lot about the rules and limitations of what is happening. I need to look into it.
-Jeremy Piven, nominated for supporting actor in a TV series for “Entourage”

The lady anchor who asked Brad had he adopted a child today came off as petty and stupid. She was trying to be funny but it wasn’t. Do you make a special effort to be stupid or does it just come naturally to you?
Just for the record, my dad was 12 years older than my mom, and they had 35 wonderful years together.
Bravo Angelina!!!! I’d love for her to win…….no matter what anyone says, I think she very much deserves it. She put her heart and soul into this performance and it shows in the movie. Good luck Angie! =)

Whoop!!! Cngratulations Angie and Brad and Plan B!!!!
I had no doubt that Angie would be nominated, she was excellet. I saw the movie when it first came out and I have the DVD as well! I am very disappointed Brad did not get nominated for AOJJ, but the blame is WB’s. When they shamelessly tried to promote GC, oh I did see the movie and NOPE! GC does not deserve a GG nod, not at all!!!
JMHO—GG will go to Angie or Julie. Now it might go to Julie Christie b/c of her age and Angie already has TWO GG awards. BTW as much as I love Cate B., she does not belong in the list of ‘best actress’ maybe supporting category, but I have’t seen that movie re Bob Dylan, so I can’t say…
I hope Casey wins for AOJJ.
One question to the posters who think other people should win, why aren’t you posting at Jared’s GG nomination thread??? Why are you here at Angie’s thread? Because ((drumrolls)) you guys are trolls/haters that’s why! You could care less about the rest of the nominees. It is driving you hateful ding-dongs insane that Angie is on the list with a movie Brad produced… ROTFLMAO!
Clini—ohhh cr@p lady, you had me on the floor when I read your description of Brad with a dinner napkin on his face
OK, it’s time to celebrate…Let’s drive the haters more insane
hi BAMPZS ers
I did not think George Clooney nor Denzel Washingtons’s performances were note worthy of the Golden Globe nom. I believe politics of hollywood is involved. Warner Bros. has always been a pillar of the industry, but now I understand the big studio concept. I am for boycotting Warner Bros. I will not support Warner Bros. in any way. I pledge my support to the writers union. Peace

Oh, cripes!
Those two b*tches?!
I remember when this show was in syndication. It eventually made it to my market and they both annoyed the sh*t out of me. The male anchor was the only redeeming thing about the show. Those two were eventually fired and replaced a couple times; Matenopoulus was one of the replacements (gag!).
I thought it was mercifully cancelled and the male anchor would move on to bigger and better; now, he’s saddled with these two again?!!
Anyway, I do think that Angelina has a history with the really stupid adoption-joke wench. The b*tch asked the wrong question and the feed was killed.

I’m betting “Atonement’ and “No Country For Old Men” scoop most of the GGs, but it’s great that Angelina was nominated.
I love to see the haters eating shít.
I luv Denzel, but his performance in AG was not GG or Oscar worthy, IMHO. Oprah’s produced movie The Great Debaters hasn’t opened yet but it is nominated for best picture the same as Charlie Walkers war. How can they be nominated when they haven’t been viewed?
I am truly happy for Angie, Brad, and Plan B. Second year in a row a film produced by Plan B has a star that was nominated. Great for Plan B.
Does anyone have a copy of Brad’s interview from this morning? The links posted don’t have the interview. Thanks Peace.

I’ve never cared if Angelina wins or not. I just want her to be nominated. I’m still hoping she gets the Oscar nom, and then I’ll be happy with whatever happens.
I can actually agree with those who think she doesn’t deserve to win though. I think she gives a great performance and totally deserves to be nominated. But I think Cotillard and Christie give better performances and deserve to win.
And I also don’t think AMH deserves any other nominations. It was okay, but not great. No Country for Old Men, Zodiac, There Will Be Blood, Juno, Atonement, AOJJ, Gone Baby Gone, are all much better films.

No nod for Brad, though? Total bummer. I’m kind of surprised to see James McAvoy on the list, too. His is not a name that’s been mentioned all that frequently in the overall Oscar Best Actor race.

It that the same program with an older gentleman and a younger dimwit blonde by the name of Jillian Barberie or something like that? If I may, let me add to your HA. Angelina Jolie has 3 Golden Globes, one Oscar and TWO SAG AWARDS - not just one. I believe back to back. So HA HA!
If I recall, Roger Freidman, pretty much despised by other critics and film people, wrote in praise of A Mighty Heart and Jolie’s performance. At least that’s my recollection - maybe I’m wrong. Maybe his criticism came later and was directed at Fox News’ rebuff during press interviews.
Those two lady anchors on Good Day LA have always annoyed me greatly. I feel bad for the guy in the middle. Thank God that show is not in national syndication any longer.
You know what I am dread to see?????? Brad wearing his famous newsboy cap to the GOLDEN GLOBES!!!!!!!!!!
I would die if i see that hideous hat on his head.
But then again, they might skip the award in respect of the writers skike!!!!!!!!!
What do u guys think? SInce Brad opted out State of Play because of the stride. So there is a good chance he might do the same at the award show.

Most of these nominations are good enough for the lame Golden Globes but not for SAG and the Oscars.
The nominations are an acknowledgement that their performaces were above the crap but that’s about it.
Congratulations. As long as I don’t have to see anyone from HS Musical 2 ever again, I’m happy
Few expect Cate Blanchett to get another Oscar leading-lady nomination for the widely-panned Elizabeth: The Golden Age, ditto Jodie Foster in The Brave One – they’re just making up numbers. (Blanchett is a far better bet for supporting actress as one of the Bob Dylans in I’m Not There, right out in front as the favourite, but up against brilliant Brit Tilda Swinton as the epitome of corporate evil in Michael Clayton.)
Award-watchers have long thought that this might be Laura Linney’s year, but her universally praised turn in the low-key dramedy The Savages has been overlooked. She has Amy Adams, Helena Bonham Carter and Nikki Blonksy to blame for being so good in their respective musicals, but it’s likely that at least one of them will drop out of the Oscar race to make room for her.
advertisement
Keira Knightley, who got mixed reviews in the States for Atonement, can’t necessarily expect to join them, with Ellen Page (Juno), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en rose) and the terrific Angelina Jolie (A Mighty Heart) also seriously in the running.

His article was silly. He should have looked at the list of GG & Oscar winners before writing his little blurb. Last year alone Jennifer Hudson, Forest Whitaker and Helen Mirren were all GG & Oscar winners.
It’s slightly entertaining to see dumb a** anti’s feed upon any possible slight towards AJ’s nom, as if Roger F. is writing the 10 commandments or something.
sorry for yelling.
I hope we can see some of the family in Nola soon. Angie has to be about finished working on her film, right?
Wanted will go head to head with TC’s movie valkyrie. I know which one Im seeing.
I saw the Fox’s interview of Brad. What kind of idiotic question is “Have you adopted a baby today?”
I love Brad’s answer, thought. “No, not TODAY!”
She looks stunning in the Mighty Heart pic! Go Angie, congrats girl!
#331: FL, maybe there’s been a changing of the guards like at msnbc. They must have hired hitters from the tabs; or, they’re trying something new to see if it boosts circulation some more.
Congrats to Angelina and Brad. Angelina was amazing in AMH. If she wins than great. If she doesn’t
it’s okay. Many an awards show I have been disappointed by who won. This is a great day for Brad not only because his ladylove got an nom but his production company is once again involved in an actor/actress getting critical praised for their work. Last year it was The Departed and Annette Benning(Running with Scissors). This year it is Angelina (AMH) and Casey Affleck (AOJJ). This is one reason why actors want to work for Plan B. The future so bright …
I saw the Fox’s interview of Brad. What kind of idiotic question is “Have you adopted a baby today?”
========
That question wasn’t asked on FOX. I think it was GDLA. I watched the interview on FOX news and that was not said.
but yes. very stupid question
i love brad but i hope he doesnt leave his hat on until all the houses are built in nola.
Congratulations to Angelina for her nomination..very well deserved.
The Globes aren’t even going to happen so who really cares? This is such a joke. No red carpet and no more fodder for the fiends.

I REALLY REALLY love Passingthrough. Where is she? Will she be on later? I love her wit. She’s a sassy one.
I am obsessed with her. Need my fix. COME OUT COME OUT, WHERE EVER YOU ARE!!
where is passingthrough?
The WGA has already worked it outwith SAG so that the awards program can go on. Why would they work with GG and the Oscars.
where is PT?
Okay,
For those who don’t want to watch Good Day Live interview, go to http://www.foxnews.com/ ; on the right, theres a list of videos; select Brad Pitt on helping New Orleans.
In this clip, the female anchor referred to Angelina as his wife but corrects herself.
BTW… the one good thing about the GDLA clip was that Brad revealed that 31 homes were adopted.
Congratulations to Angie for all the acting nominations she’s received so far. It’s well-deserved because she gave an incredible performance in AMH.
The competition looks tough this year, but even if Angie doesn’t pick up a GG award or any of the other awards. I still believe the one that means the most to her was the Freedom Award from the IRC, especially since Winston Churchill had also received that award. And I think she would be happy if she and AMH receive the Time for Peace award, because it stands for what they were trying to convey in the movie. She’s made it clear that her humanitarian work means more to her than acting. And I’m wondering if her mind is more on the bombing of the UNHCR building in Algiers than picking up a GG nomination.
On a less serious note…thanks to the people who provided
