I knew she would get a nod (and most likely an Oscar nod), but I wasn’t completely blown away by her in AMH. Don’t get me wrong, I love Angie as an actress, but I am not so sure this was an Oscar winning performance. Worth a nod- absolutely, but not a win. I actually remember being more impressed with her co-stars than with her. But I say congrats to Angie. Receiving a nomination is a huge thing and I am sure she is glad that the film will get some more recognition.
Has anyone seen Atonement yet? That seems to be moving up as a front runner…
I heard that Jennifer Aniston will be a presenter at the GG this year.
Is there any truth to that? Does anyone know?
there going to be a lot of hurt feelings when she doesnt win.

Not to be rude, but are you surprised? Look at the source…speaks volumes.
To be quite honest yes..Brad was really good in AOJJ, one of his finest in my opinion but he was never on the radar for any of these awards and it seems like WB never pushed for him or the movie for best picture. The only push has been for Casey it seems.
I don’t care if this was already posted.

That’s because this is a more important project to him and he wants to reach out to as many people as possible. Also, this should show that Brad is not a petty person. I really like that about him. He reminds me of my dad in that way because my dad is the type of person that even though he knows someone has said bad stuff about him in the past/present, or even if he knows that someone does not like him, he’ll never just walk by that person on the street. He’ll always say hi. I usually think he’s too good of a person because to me, if you hate me, don’t want to talk to me or have talked trash about me/or people close to me, I will not have anything to do with you.
Hey FL. Tell us how you really feel. Good afternoon to you. ;)
A lot of people are complaining about Brad’s oversight of a nod (I didn’t see AOJJ so I can’t comment on his performance)…but my opinion is that I really think that Brad seems to be one of those actors that has such a huge fanbase and his fans are loyal and love him to death, but the Academy and other people who decide nominations aren’t recognizing his acting ability.
I think he is awesome in certain roles (like 12 Monkeys, Seven, Babel), but he hasn’t caught on yet with the Academy. Look at how long it’s taken Johnny Depp to start receiving recognition as a talented actor.
Maybe Brad’s day is coming, but- I think a lot of actors don’t really base their career outcome on an Oscar. I think if that’s what an actor considers when picking roles (winning the Oscar), then why even call yourself an actor? I am sure it doesn’t really get to Brad and that he is happy enough to see Angie’s recognition at the GG.
So CONGRATS to Angie!!
223- the real tita:
However, as a kicker, that’s one more red carpet that the X won’t be walking on.

Hi! :D And when will she EVER get a chance to walk a RC? For anything SHE did? Please…
Thanks for the laugh.
I heard that Jennifer Aniston will be a presenter at the GG this year.

They don’t have presenters…
Congrats to Angie! Well deserved nominations!
As much as I want Angie to win, but at the end of the day Julie Christie will walk away with the award. I watched both performances and artistically speaking, Julie has shown more depth and emotions. Her acting is superb! And besides at her age, this might be her last hurrah at the awards show. So with that in mind, I think they will give it to her. Angie is young, she will have plenty of chances to score. That’s my take.
And for Mr George CLooney WTF!!! self promotion to no shame. I am appalled why he was nominated? Christian Bale in Rescue dawn was fantastic! He was passed over one more. About Brad, I’m a fan but honestly his role
in Jesse James is ok but not outstanding.
Peace to all.
I’m willing to look past your rudeness and namecalling…What’s the controversy in the Uk with G.B.G?

1. I’ve never namecalled or said anything rude…I have just given my opinion.
2. Gone Baby Gone controversy surrounds the fact that Gone Baby Gone’s plotline is similar to the disappearance of a little English girl named Madeleine McCann. Even more odd, the girl who plays the missing child in GBG is called Madeleine!
Who hands out the award then?
Hi Janice! Lol, I’m good now. Good morning from my side. I guess you’re on the East Coast?
HOW CAN A MOVIE THAT MADE NO MONEY GET A NOMINATION? AND HER ACTING SKILLS ARE SO HORRIBLE. THE ONLY THING SHE ACTS GOOD AT IS BEING WORTHLESS.
WHY are people thinking that we are going to be hurt if she doesn’t win? As I said in my earlier post, to me, BEING NOMINATED is good enough. She’s been recognized for her performance. Winning is icing on the cake.
People also keep forgetting that Angie already has THREE Golden Globe WINS under her belt. So, she’s not eager or desperate for this.
In my opinion, most of the awards group here in USA pertaining Hollywood are run by politic standard and also more on glamourizing it than achievements and talent. So I would’nt be surprise that Brad is ignored again.
Brad is a brilliant actor and decent man. To him, in my opinion, if he get an awards for his acting because he deserve it not because he goes out there or his publicist agressively campaigning for nominations. We know that his acting is award worthy specially his latest movie. We know that his a successful producer and his pick of movies to make are brilliant choices. So I’m not surprise about some of these awards group. Definitely just goes for glamour. The more movie star will attend their ceremonies the better whether they deserve it or not.

Um..
1. “To all you very deluded people”…was that really necessary? You could have stated your view on the nominations without that little snark…and yes it sounded rude to me.
2. Oh ok gotcha. Thank you. Has the controversy around the movie died down some? Are people still adversed to seeing it?
#185: Awwww, poor troll. Your fantasy world is bound to take a hit again when the PittpOrn parade comes into town. Don’t you just love it? Another assgrab by Bradley boy and maybe a real kiss this time on the RC. You’re dreading the announcement of a win for Angie, ain’t ya? You just know what she’s gonna do and say. Hmmmm, love and lust on the RC. Nice!!!!
Mr and Mrs Smith @ 12/13/2007 at 1:04 pm WHY are people thinking that we are going to be hurt if she doesn’t win? As I said in my earlier post, to me, BEING NOMINATED is good enough. She’s been recognized for her performance. Winning is icing on the cake.

You agree completely…when she won her Oscar, she gave it to her mom. So I don’t think Angelina gets caught up in all that crazy Oscar drama. When you look at the Academy nominations, they are picking what they believe are the top 5 best performances of the year. So to be in that group is an honor in itself. The nominations speak for themself- she’s getting recognition already!
Beth @ 12/13/2007 at 1:00 pm _________________________________________
Well, this ‘worthless’ actress who’s acting skills are so ‘horrible’, has 3 Golden Globes, 1 SAG award, and an Oscar. PLUS, other smaller critic awards too. Oh, to be that ‘worthless’. HA. :)
oops…I meant “I agree” instead of “you”- haha :-)

Well, I’m sorry.
Helena: Angelina will probably win b/c she’s great in the role, its a powerful film, and its a popularity contest. I stand by what I said before and its all in good fun. I love Jodie too (Silence of the lambs is one of my top 5 fav movies), but this latest project wasn’t very high profile. Cate (strong performance and well-known actress) and Julie (great role in worthy vehicle) are fair contenders, I’ll concede that, but Keira (I-couldn’t-care-less-how-to-spell-her-last-name) Knightly was the weakest part of an over-hyped movie. The movie starts out well enough, primarily because of Saoirse Ronan, but the second half is crap and ultimately goes nowhere. Therefore I’m going with Angelina

Oh, I forgot about this one! Anyway, to answer this…this movie doesn’t even have a release date! It was scheduled for this month and I really want to see it, because of the reviews and Amy Ryan’s critic award success.
