Angelina Jolie receives 2007 Golden Globe nomination
Angelina Jolie receives a 2007 Golden Globe nomination for her performance in A Mighty Heart.
Ang was nominated for the category “Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama”.
Other nominees include: Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth: The Golden Age), Julie Christie (Away from Her), Jodie Foster (The Brave One) and Keira Knightley (Atonement).
Congrats to AJ on the nomination! Good luck on January 13th!

Hey moron, some of the nominated movies didn’t even hit the theater yet and some are still in limited released. So your argument is invalid. It has nothing to do with boxoffice number.

blinded by hatred? blinded by misguided adoration? what’s the difference? It seems that very few people who contribute to these blogs are able to speak about any of this with any objectivity.
However, it’s good to see that there are some people here who can see that, perhaps, there are performances that were recognized that are far more deserving. Awards like this shouldn’t be given out based on popularity. Brad Pitt should not have been nominated, which is why he wasn’t. He’s probably a pretty nice guy, but he’s not an award-caliber actor.

I am too upset about Brad’s non nomination so that’s why I will only watch the red carpet appearances and not the actual telecast and I hope the rating plumet for all these award shows will one day regain some credibility in the future…Just a little morning rant.
I have been obsessing over AMH. I watched it twice last week. Angie just draws you into the her and the panic throughout the film is resounding…
I am very disgusted with Clooney’s nomination. Why don’t they just give him the reward since that’s what there intentions are since he kisses all things entertainment a##.

She did a lot of movies in the past 5 years and she was bad in almost every one. Remember Mr. & Mrs Smith? Good Shepherd wasn’t better. I don’t say she’s a bad actress, but at the moment there are so many better actresses who deserve the chance to win a golden globe a lot more than AJ! AND she isn’t as good as she was earlier, remember GIA or Girl, interrupted? It’s just the wrong moment for a nomination i think.
Brad and Angelina should be crowned King and Queen of New Orleans They are bringing attention to something that needs to be done in this country. It isn’t glamorous but it’s truly going to help thousands of regular everyday people.

. Angie was great in Mr and Mrs and was great in the good shepred. She is excellent inAMH. Get over it don’t hate.She deserve to be there. Even ET magazine said she really can act.

HOW THE HELL IS IT A WRONG TIME FOR A NOMINATION WHEN MOST CRITICS HAVE BEEN SINGING HER PRAISES FOR HER PERFORMANCE IN AMH? When was the last time that happened to Angie? During Gia, GI days. The critics even went as far as to say that her performance in AMH is her best to date. Angie TOTALLY deserved this nomination.
Well i haven’t seen Angie’s movie so i can’t really judge, but i will be happy just as long as keira knightly doesn’t get it!!

The point is not that she isn’t as good as she was when she did GI or Gia , is just that she didn’t do movies that required from her the best that she can do , but in a Mighty Heart she is phenomenal , and there is no question about it .

Angie, i think is not very concerned of the awards she’ll be getting or not. For her, what’s important is to get the message of the movie across, that it is possible that one person, inspite of everything, cannot be blinded by hate.
Angie is I already a multi-awarded actress, so she doesn’t have to prove how good she is. She even said in one of her interviews that she never display her awards at home (maybe because she wants to remain grounded & not to put superficial things on her head).
To win awards for AMH is, like what she said, is just an icing on the cake. However, I hope & pray that she will really win for her outstanding performance on that movie. I hope her being the Angelina Jolie (favorite tabloid topic) doesn’t deprive her of a well-deserved win.

If Brad ever did the campaigning that George Clooney does, he would be nominated without a doubt. George plays the HW game so well, all PR and azz kissing, even some acting with the papz for more exposure.

Brad doesn’t play that game…he’s got pride at least so I admire him more. He’s happy for his Angie and that’s all that counts with him. If there was any justice, he’d be nominated for an Oscar. He wiped the floor with Georgie boy in Venice. He should be acknowledged at the very least for his performance so boo for WB. They’re vindictive skunks. They’re p*ssed that Brad left them for Paramount.
