Angelina Jolie receives 2007 Golden Globe nomination

For those of you who think Brad should seek advice from Bill Gates, take a look at this snippet from the Los Angeles Times:

By comparing these investments with information from for-profit services that analyze corporate behavior for mutual funds, pension managers, government agencies and other foundations, The Times found that the Gates Foundation has holdings in many companies that have failed tests of social responsibility because of environmental lapses, employment discrimination, disregard for worker rights, or unethical practices.

One of these investment rating services, Calvert Group Ltd., for example, endorses 52 of the largest 100 U.S. companies based on market capitalization, but flags the other 48 for transgressions against social responsibility. Microsoft Corp., which Bill Gates leads as board chairman, is rated highly for its overall business practices, despite its history of antitrust problems.

In addition, The Times found the Gates Foundation endowment had major holdings in

• Companies ranked among the worst U.S. and Canadian polluters, including ConocoPhillips, Dow Chemical Co. and Tyco International Ltd.

• Many of the world’s other major polluters, including companies that own an oil refinery and one that owns a paper mill, which a study shows sicken children while the foundation tries to save their parents from AIDS.

Using the most recent data available, a Times tally showed that hundreds of Gates Foundation investments — totaling at least $8.7 billion, or 41% of its assets, not including U.S. and foreign government securities — have been in companies that countered the foundation’s charitable goals or socially concerned philosophy.

This is “the dirty secret” of many large philanthropies, said Paul Hawken, an expert on socially beneficial investing who directs the Natural Capital Institute, an investment research group. “Foundations donate to groups trying to heal the future,” Hawken said in an interview, “but with their investments, they steal from the future.”

Brad is in NYC, just saw him in the morning show with George S. He was in the studio. Good interview, all about MIR, not even 1 personal question.

really sh*tzy!!!I feel for you.Last time I check Brad was with his family in L.A and was with Angie in Las Vegas and the last interview he gave to Fox,he was so happy about his family and also told that for him Angelina is not girl friend,she is as much his wife as people who married.I think that would be enough for anyone oh and I forget to say don’t forget his face when the interviewer talked about Angie’s GG’s nomination.did you forget about these,they were just afew days ago. :roll: oh I know you have selective mind. :)

Charitable Institutions usually does not have enough resources for background checks since most people are there helping for free or volunteer. So no surprise that these things happen especially for charitable that involves MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Some individuals are blinded by them. Heck it happen to our own government & they even screen their own workers. So nothing new. Just the haters & Aniston fans that are trying to making it a big deal.

Let’s see Saint Jude Hospital fundraising if people invovled are really honest. Hmmmmm

Fraud and other forms of corruption are expected obstacles in any form of charitable work - MIR has learned an early and valuable lesson and will certainly examine its applicants more closely. There is no scandal here - other than the one conjured in haters’ minds - there is a learning curve and no one involved in similar work can condemn Brad or MIR.
Gates Foundation - oh please, they’ve had their own issues to deal with but they’re just better at what information gets leaked, not to mention they don’t exactly appeal to the public for support.
Oprah - can you say pot meet kettle?

I could go on and on but the fact is everyone involved in this line of work gets burned AT LEAST ONCE, especially when they are just getting started.

The bigger scandal is where are the millions, perhaps even billions of taxpayer dollars that are unaccounted for because of no bid contracts and lack of accountability at all levels of government? Why are the most vulnerable of these people still in trailers 3 years later? Why are the levess sill not up to standard? THAT’S THE SCANDAL! But you haters are so desperate to find anything that you can misconstrue or simply fabricate about the JPs that the real issues cannot begin to penetrate your thick skulls.
