Vanessa Hudgens sings her own interpretation of The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) at Wednesday’s Christmas in Washington 2007 at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C.
President Bush seemed to really enjoy the performance when they cut to his reaction!

My favorite was “The Christmas Song” ….she sounded sweet and had nice feeling through the song. I really think she did SO well! I’m not saying she has the best voice in the world; I’m saying she did beautifully for Vanessa! And she is only going to get better!!

This is my favourite of Vanessa’s Performances. She really shines through when she doesn’t try too hard. She seems more relaxed & self confident here. Her voice range is shown to full advantage with this song.
Besides she looks so pretty,you can see the 2 young girls sitting next to the president, how taken they are with Vanessa.

whoever says this was “horrible” are absolute idiots & have no clue what singing is. OF COURSE she isnt the best around. Duh. But this was not bad, AT ALL. It was actually very good.
So for those comments that say she can’t sing… idiotic comments. mhmm
for those comments that say it was amazing or she’s the best.. not quite. She was far from the best at this show. but she’s indeed a great singer and most definatly the best singer from HSM.
Okay…I’m a huge fan and her performance was better than i ever gave her credit. With her recorded music it’s hard to tell how much is enhanced and so I think I was undervaluing the quality of her voice. Clearly she’s a dynamo! Congrats on a job well done and happy birthday V!!

Beautiful! Vanessa ROCKS!!!! Vanessa has a beautiful voice. President Bush looks really happy. Vanessa’s rendition of “The Chriistmas Song (Chesnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)” was beautiful. I’m almost crying.
She is a beautiful young girl with a lot of talent, but I really wasn’t impressed with these songs. She sounded very nasal and didn’t seem to have control of all the notes. Wasn’t her best.

I agree, she wasn’t the best, even I, a huge Vanessa fan, will admit this, but she most definitely wasn’t the worst. She IS a good singer, and with a litle work and a little time, she could be great. To have such talent, fame and modesty at such a young age is a blessing. She really can only get better from here.
