Brad Pitt @ Regis & Kelly
Brad Pitt, in his signature newsboy cap, signs some autographs for fans in NYC Monday morning outside of ABC studios after an appearance on Live with Regis & Kelly!
The 43-year-old father-of-four promoted his “Make it Right” project for the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans.
Brad’s interview on Regis & Kelly is expected to air next Monday morning (Christmas Eve), Dec. 24. A performance by the cast of “High School Musical: The Ice Tour” will also air later in the show. (Angie picked up the The High School Musical East High Yearbook Dress-Up Collection for Halloween!)
Brad turns 44 tomorrow! Happy Birthday, William Bradley Pitt!

When Brad was speaking about Clooney and the million dollars, I thought he meant Clooney gave to the Katrina Fund right after the strom hit. But that he expects Clooney to adopt a home because he is a good guy

PT I was thinking the same thing. Brad should do comedy. He was funny and self deprecating at times. I think he is a shy person.
++++++++++++++
Hey, he is a little shy.
I’ll tell you the other thing that comes across very clearly in this show - BRAD IS A HAPPY, HAPPY MAN! LOL! This interview is a hell of contrast to the last time I saw him on CR in 2004. He was somber, morose and just plain weary. So, so glad that X is an idiot. (Sorry to bring her up!)
#707: senior, thanks for reminding me….

MF! Char, thanks for the card. Do you know I got it last week? I was looking for you on the threads but you weren’t here and then I went away this weekend and forgot all about it. My goodness, believe me when me when I say, so sorry. Me and my forgetfulness (my nevvy will say it’s the drugs…meds I mean). No, really, ask NL. I am such a scatterbrain. Anyways, thank you for your thoughtfulness. You are one in a million!

Everybody involved in this — the pimps who sell the kids and the guys who buy the kids — should be tied up and slowly tortured to death.

Yeh he seems very happy.
And you know what they say good riddance to bad rubbish….etc..etc…

Just watched Charlie Rose it was a really good interview.Brad was funny as hell!Loved the way his face light up when talking about Angelina and the kids. The man is satisfied and happy!Notice how laid back he was compared to when he was on the show last?
++++++++++++++++++
TRL - I just said the same thing. Brad on CR in 2004 and Brad today? Two totally different men. He spent that whole show talking about what was wrong with his life. Now he gets an ear-to-ear grin WHEN he talks about his life.
Well Brad will be getting a rather nice donation from me.My ex-boyfriend died last month and left me as the beneficiary of his life insurance polices. The strange thing is I broke-up with him for my husband and haven’t seen or spoken to him in over 7 years.Decided I will donate 30% of the money to MIR and take the rest and split it between my 3 kids to put in their college funds.
Passing Through @ 12/18/2007 at 1:11 am
PT, I might be wrong, but I think GC did it when Katrina first happened. Remember when they were having the televised fund raisers. I think GC donated then. But this is Brad. He will probably do it now. Peace
whow, just wanted to check back one last time. this discussion of that CR interview is really perking up my curiosity.

This article makes me want to cry, it is so so true. I have relatives who live in both Lake Charles and Houston and while some former NOLA residents are doing OK in those cities most are not and long to return home. Some resentment of the former NOLA residents exist in both cities, there are those who say it’s time that they go home. But you have to have a place to go home to. It is a sad fact that many of the displaced NOLA people have major depression. I would be too if I went back to see where I had once lived and worked and saw the ruins of my life that now exist.
What Brad is doing is great, but so very much is needed. The feds have turned their backs on the Gulf Coast. A generation of people are just being thrown away by the government that should be there with assistance.

Finally saw your shout out thanks. I think I have read the thread it was great tonight, like it was when I started posting in the first place. I will watch the interview again when it repeats (I can watch Brad and not move until he’s no longer on the screen) he is totally charming and modest, and God he is fine. On his comment about acting being a young man’s game, I think that what he didn’t articulate (on tv) is that there is a new generation of 10 year olds who in about 10 years will be choosing movie stars and while they may admire him they will think he’s old (in 10 years he’ll be 54 my granddaughter for example will be 19 going on 20). So I think he is smart to see it and plan for it. 20 year olds do think people in their 40’s and 50’s are old. (this I know from experience! smile) I think I saw a post earlier that said something similar soon the movie stars will Shiloh and Zahara, and Maddox and Pax will be the hot new producers, directors etc. Shows he’s really grounded in reality. Well goodnight to all the fans, See everybody at the party, can’t wait. Happy Birthday Brad!!!it is Tuesday the 18th. Jared thanks for the site you rock!
Thank you JJ !!
I have been waiting to yell this out loud…… Happy Birthday Brad Pitt!!! Love and adore you!! :-)
I really enjoyed the Charlie Rose interview. Every minute of it. :-) I think that one hour was too short. It just flew! :-)
#732: the real lou, that is mighty generous of you. Sorry about the ex-boyfriend but at least his money is going to a good cause. I’m sure he will appreciate what you are doing. You have a good heart!

You are so right I feel what you are saying, MF is such a sweetie, thank goodness. I am really going to bed now see you at the party.
The real lou
That is so wonderful of you. Gawd you are so lucky and so
generous. Gawd my x-husband died recently and didn’t leave anyone anything. Not even his present wife, his and my daughter, no one, nada. That is special. You will be blessed.
Thirty more minutes and I can watch. Thank you all for the recaps just in case my eyes fail me. Brad is nicely silly. Peace.
One other funny thing about the CR interview - Brad mentioning that HE KNOWS THE HAT HAS WORN OUT IT’S WELCOME!!! ROTFLMBAO!!! No shite, Brad.

A generation of people are just being thrown away by the government that should be there with assistance.
*********************************************
As far as the Bush administration is concerned, those people have three strikes against them: they are poor, non-white, and they didn’t vote for him. So he feels justified in kicking them to the curb.
I have a friend who lives in the Gentilly section of N.O. She was lucky. Her house was pretty much a ruin, but she is a computer programmer who makes a good salary. She secured a government loan and rebuilt her house. A lot of houses in Gentilly are being rebuilt or have been rebuilt; a lot more have not.
As for the Lower Ninth, it seems to be one of those neighborhoods that every other neighborhood looks down on. My friend in Gentilly said the Lower Ninth before Katrina was a cesspool. But, she said, there were a lot of very fine and decent people living there whose only “crime” was being poor, and they have as much right to live in their city as anybody else. But the Bush administration and the local city council have shown no interest in rebuilding the Lower Ninth or any of the other poorer sections. So the private sector like MakeItRight will have to do it. What the end result down there will probably be is a city that is much smaller, much less poor, and much whiter, than it was before Katrina, and it will have lost much of the character that made it so special.

Lou, that is very fine and generous of you.
(Wish I had me a rich ex-boyfriend! )
The real lou @ 12/18/2007 at 1:23 am
You must be a very good person for that to happen, sorry about his passing though. Still that is something positive to hear and your plans
for it are great. He must have been a good person also. I will read more tomorrow. really getting off now almost 2 am (I get up at 5am)
Wow, this thread is so nice and civilized tonight!

IAWY. Brad is very aware and wise as to the length of a career and super stardom. At 44 he is already 20+ years older than actors in their 20’s, and he sees the pattern of the careers of Redford and Newman for example. He is so lucky in that his family, not his career is the #1 priority in his life. Actors always have cutthroat competition and acting careers all have ebbs and flows. As a male Brad will have a much more viable and long lived career than a female. A prime example of this is what is happening to Nicole Kidman who just had her 40th birthday, she is being blamed for the poor box office of her most recent movies, while the males in the films with her are not. Brad at 44 is much in demand and will remain so, Nicole Kidman is considered by many now as a has been. Age 40 is the end of the stardom road for most women in films. Sad but true.
Young people look at the casts of the The Hills and High School Music as their stars, or 15 year old megastar Hannah Montana.
Jill @ 12/18/2007 at 1:19 am
Jill, sometimes the “pimps” are the parents, not directly involved but benefit from the cash their daughters send back home. In some cases, girls engage in sex work “willingly” so to pay back to their schooling costs, either parents hint for a pay-back or girls feel responsible.
Torture is the easy solution, how to keep these children (and their families) out-of poverty is the difficult part of the equation.
KK1 @ 12/18/2007 at 1:46 am
That 15 year old megastar Hannah Montana will be a played-out has-been by the time she is 20.
