Brad Pitt @ Regis & Kelly
Brad Pitt, in his signature newsboy cap, signs some autographs for fans in NYC Monday morning outside of ABC studios after an appearance on Live with Regis & Kelly!
The 43-year-old father-of-four promoted his “Make it Right” project for the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans.
Brad’s interview on Regis & Kelly is expected to air next Monday morning (Christmas Eve), Dec. 24. A performance by the cast of “High School Musical: The Ice Tour” will also air later in the show. (Angie picked up the The High School Musical East High Yearbook Dress-Up Collection for Halloween!)

Happy Birthday to Mr. Brad Pitt !
More Blessings to Jollie-Pitt.
Just a comment about Brad’s discussions about foreign adoptions. He was trying to explain the process that Angie and he were using. She adopts first from the country then he adopts here in the U.S.
Charlie was asking why in his roundabout way and Brad said,” homosexuals.” Then Brad went into the other reasons why men can’t adopt in some countries - child trafficking, etc. Viet Nam is homophobic. Maybe vestiges of the Catholicism that influenced the country for so long - even Ho was Catholic. Homosexuals cannot adopt from Viet Nam so that is their “firewall” used to keep those “undesirables” from adopting. I guess the Viet Namese never heard of gay women.
I could see more clearly how it was Brad who assembled that cast for State of Play. Norton, of course, wanted to reteam with him. Brad and Norton are also co-producers on a Plan B mini series for TV about Lewis and Clark and the exploration of the American West. But both Robin Wright Penn and Rachel McAdams are in 2 different movies for Plan B.
The Private Lives of Pippa Lee is in pre-production due to start filming in April 2008 but delayed because of the writers strike. Robin, Julianne Moore and Winona Ryder are attached to star. It’s a Rebcca Miller screenplay and Miller is set to direct. Miller, as you may know, is Daniel Day Lewis’ wife and Arthur Miller’s daughter.
Rachel McAdams is in The Traveler’s Wife which may have already wrapped filming this past fall. Eric Bana, one of Pitt’s costars from Troy, co-stars with Rachel. Plan B bought the book before it was published I believe.
Maybe Brad is in a supporting role in the Terry Malick project. He seemed to emphasize the “small” of it. Does anyone thing Terry Malick is doing “small” ? Maybe Plan B is getting involved and not Brad as an actor.
Brad has so many pokers int he fire as producer that it’s a wonder he has time to act. Obviously he needs to act now and then to fill Plan B’s coffers. Plan B is producer for Shantaram - a Johnny Depp starring movie that even Russell Crowe was dying to get a piece of. When he realized Depp had the role and not him, Crowe offered to executive produce. It’s about an Australian heroin addict who escaped and went to India and opened a free medical clinic for the desperately poor using gangsters to help him fund it. Mira Nair has been scheduled to direct for ages but there’s been a delay (probably strike related) but now there is a rumor - just a rumor - that Darren Aronofsky has been allowed to look at the script.
The big thing is who will direct World War Z. An ambitious epic about a world plague that turns people into zombies which now will seem like a copy of I Am Legend but then Legend is just a copy of 2 other movies. I read a review of the script and it seemsvery good. It begins after the plague has been contained after the human race was almost lost. It’s about a man who reluctantly gets tasked to uncover how it all happened and what the govt (s) did right and wrong in allowing it to happen and in eventually defeating it. This also has a huge fan base eagerly awaiting word of who will direct it. It’s got intrigue, sci-fi, some dark humor, humanity, etc. And its screenplay has been touted as one of the best on the so called Hollywood Black List.
Remember Brad said that he and State of Play director Kevin Macdonald already have plans to work together on a future project. I could see this if it’s handed sort of like a docudrama. Though I bet Ridley Scott or his brother would like a shot at it.
I can remember not that long ago thinking Brad was just a boring pretty boy. The few things that perked my interest were that he had made a very large contribution to the U of Missouri and his interest in architecture. I now realize there are about 7 DVDs/Videos starring Pitt laying around this house and I think I’ve only seen 2 of them. I even dug up some old tapes of Kalifornia and Fight Club. I guess at some point I will watch them.
Just to say that Pitt is actually an incredibly interesting person and it is a delight to see someone fully coming into their own. It doesn’t matter that he is more action than words. It’s actually better that he is more about doing than just talking. It really does matter who you attach yourself to in your life - I know someone who after years with a woman who was desperately pushing him to get married went into psychotherapy a few months after the wedding. After the huge hullabaloo of the very public engagement and over-the-top expensive wedding and almost immediate pregnancy he seems to be slowly abandoning the life he had hoped for and settling for something completely different. I know you can’t judge from outside but sometimes the compromises we make can end up just killing us.
Sorry to sidetrack. Without placing blame, I think Pitt got sidetracked for a while there. Nice to see him take such control of his life.
Seems it’s also Sheri’s B Day. So Happy Birthday to Sheri.

Child trafficking is the main reason why Vietnam forbids adoption by single men. I’m sure Vietnam has heard of gay men and gay women and they are probably no more homophobic than many other developing nations. But child trafficking is a horrendous problem in south east Asia and some gay and straight men attempt to adopt children from that area in order to have their own personal sex slaves. I am not bashing gay men in general; far from it. The agency where I work has placed several children in adoption with gay men and they have proven to be wonderful parents. But these creeps who prey on children — and they include guys on both sides of the street — are giving single fathers everywhere a bad name.
If I had to describe Brad Pitt in one word now, I’d say fulfilled. He looks content and happy, as if he has finally found his purpose in life. He has his work, he has his family and he has his humanitarian interests. Most of all he has a supportive partner. Credit Angelina for the change.
