OlderDaniel Radcliffe Buys Into 40 Mercer
Daniel Radcliffe has just bought a NYC luxury apartment, according to NYT.
The Harry Potter star just picked up a condo for nearly $4.3 million at 40 Mercer, the Jean Nouvel-architected, André Balasz designed SoHo residential development.
The fifth-floor (fourth?) apartment has two bedrooms, two and a half baths, 1,843 square feet of space visible through floor-to-ceiling windows and access to a 50 foot swimming pool and steam room.
DanRad, who has a net worth of $35+ million, will reportedly rent his new buy “for a least a year” according to his letting agent, Chris Pomeroy. It is currently on the rental market, with an asking rent of $20,000 a month.
UK’s richest teen, who recently turned 18, will be making his Broadway debut in September in Equus, a role he also had in the London production of the play.

This building is a sore in historic Soho. With all that money there are plenty of other apartments available that would not support this totally offensive monstrosity billed by Andre Balazs and Jean Nouvel.
In fact walking by this ugly a** building makes you wonder how Brad Pitt voluntarily could name his kid after this architect.
The building is tacky. End of story.

Is this news for real? And how did they know that Dan’s company bought the apartment? I thought records like that are not available to the public.
But this sounds plausible becasue Dan will be living in New YOrk for about 6 months. Poor Dan, he’s not in in America yet and the Papa are already starting on him

Daniel Radcliffe IS the Richest Teen in the UK. Of course there are sons of Earls and VIscounts who have more millons but the thing is, they are not in control of that money yet. Technically, the money is not theirs - they are only going to inherit those millions when they come of age.
Radcliffe, however, is a self made man and he was given control of his money when he turned 18 last JUly. So Anna, he can afford to buy that apartment and not wait for MOmmie dearest to buy it for him.
Come to think of it, he’s not only the richest Teen in the UK, he’s the richest Teen in the whole world! Now, I’m just a LIttle bit jealous…
That boy’s got a good head on his shoulder. Real estate is a good investment, especially luxury apartments for celebrities. Everybody’s expecting Dan to have a pad of his own anyway, now that he’s 18, so might as well be something that will generate more money.
And I’ve read about Dan being the world’s richest teenager. Of course, there are sons of billionaires in the world who are richer than Dan but they can only inherit their money when the parents die or something so yeah - that title of being the world’s richest teenager might not be an exaggeration after all.
Just the time NOT to buy real estate in the US. Values dropping like a stone. Page 6 has photos of his digs. He has a “gorgeous” view of….a neighboring building. I think the wizard got taken. He could have rented a palace instead and have been 4 million dollars richer. Now he is stuck with a depreciating asset.

You have to admit that he is about the nicest actor around, nicest and best behaved. A young, short gentleman. If you look at this first interview on Regis and Kathy when he was only twelve or thirteen, you see a shy boy exuding so much endearing and innocent charm it is almost hard to take. Whether he will stay that way remains to be seen. He is certainly no longer shy. Let’s hope he doesn’t get bumptious.

If you visit one of Dan’s “official” sites you are told that the fact that he has purchased a NY apartment is “private” information that the public is not supposed to know. Odd. If the public is not supposed to know it then why was not the purchase arranged anonymously? If Dan intends to become a US movie celebrity he is going to have many surprises in store re what information about him is “private” and what is “public.” When one becomes a celebrity almost all info about the person becomes public information.
