You can’t keep a good woman down!
Kate Hudson comes up smiling on the January 2008 cover of Vogue. Here are some snippets from her interview:
On getting a divorce: “The most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life. The process of discovering with somebody that you love that you don’t… work is so painful. And thank goodness I did it with Chris… We helped each other through it. Now we’re both single and since the day we separated, we talk multiple times.”
On the last year: “It was just an extremely giant sort of leap. I definitely feel like I’ve grown up a lot.”
On shooting Fool’s Gold in Australia: “It was a really interesting time for me. It was right when Chris and I were getting divorced, and I didn’t want to be so far away, because it was hard for us. And it was the first time I sent Ryder to be with Chris while I was working, and that was definitely difficult. But it was probably the best experience I’ve had to date, in terms of everything as a whole.”
On fear: “I just love to have fears because I love to be able to conquer them each day.”
On why it ended: “We had Ryder, and we both sort of looked at each other and went, ‘Something’s off.’”
On Matthew McConaughey: “We’re like brother and sister! We seem to drive each other crazy in a good way. Matthew kind of puts it perfectly when he says that we fight well and flirt well, and we’re perfect pains in each other’s ass.”
On gaining 70 pounds during pregnancy: “I would be eating ice cream and my mom would literally pry the spoon away from me, saying, ‘You’ve had enough to last you a lifetime.’”
On Owen Wilson: “Owen is such a lovely person, and I love him dearly. And I wish him beautiful things — health and everything that he desires in life.”

ITA, at least Kate doesn’t blame her ex and took responsibilty of the marriage failure, unllike Aniston, refuse to see her own failure blaming everything on her ex-husband (98% problem was on Brad and she’s2%)

God, you people are such idiots! I knew EXACTLY what she meant…. They had Ryder, and that’s ALL they had. They no longer had a relationship with EACH OTHER. I was thinking, damn, here is yet another woman who could give Anuston a lesson on how to handle a divorce in a classy way. Never a bad word about her ex — because it was a MUTUAL decision, this is not high school, but two adults. Something was “off” — this is not how a relationship should be. They were parenting together, and that was it. So they divorced and they can still parent together, but with separate lives, and still be friendly and respectful to each other.
No wonder America is going to hell in a handbasket? Yeah, if you posters are an example of America and how little you understand about human relationships!
Ace Tomato — I agree she looks different, but that’s just makeup and lighting. ALL PHOTOS ARE RETOUCHED! I don’t know why people act like that’s such an “ah hah!” moment when they hear a photo has had parts smoothed out.
It’s amazing what makeup and lighting can do. Christy Turlington would laugh that Cosmo could make her look busty when she’s anything but, with the angles and lighting. Sometimes photogs do a model “as” someone else, like Kate Moss as Marlene Dietrich, or Claudia Schiffer as Brigitte Bardot, and with a talented cameraman and lighting and makeup and a good model, can make it happen.
As this is Vogue, I’m sure they wanted her to look more sophisticated than the California girl look she normally has.
Anna — get over it. I’m a child of divorce and would rather have my parents happy and setting an example of how not to stay in an unhealthy relationship and maintain the friendship that drew you together first, than to follow some sort of imposed misery because that’s what you think society wants you to do.

People on the Internet are extremely intelligent eh. Who knew dating while in your twenties would make someone a ****? Grow up and stop throwing hateful words around. Its frightening to think wow if someone who doesn’t even know Kate Hudson is calling her a *****, I can’t even imagine how you perceive people in your day-to-day life.
Just be careful with the words you throw around, step back from the keyboard and have a glass of water. Just because your online it doesn’t mean you should be snarky.

Guys when she said something’s off she meant her and her husbands’ relationship. Usually kids bring you together but for tehm it was probably they got more attached to their kid seperatly.
And you guys are all sad, so women arent’ allowed to date and sleep with guys without being called sl.uts. Seriously! what is this the 1900’s. GROW UP. They’re beautiful and they’re enjoying it, men do it all the time.

wow people need to relax. these are snippets from an interview that was probably much longer and edited down to suit the needs of the magazine. how many times do you hear about interviews that get totally taken out of context? i read that line and immediately attributed her comment to her relationship with her husband, NOT her son…obviously they both love him very much, that much is clear when you see them out and about. for goodness sakes they’ve all been going out together for the past few weeks!
while i realize why jolie-pitt fans would go up in arms, the truth of the matter is that angie has made clear, direct comments regarding shiloh and her preference towards adoption. i don’t doubt she still loves shiloh very much but…yeah.
People like her on the cover deflect me from buying. She’s always been quite boring.
