Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old sister of Britney, is 12 weeks pregnant!!!!!!
The Zoey 101 star says the father is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Here are some interview snippets via OK!:
On the pregnancy news being a shock to her and Casey: “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
On keeping the news to herself when she first found out: “As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody. Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
On her mother not liking the news of her pregnancy: “[My mom Lynne] was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
On her future with Nickelodeon series Zoey 101: “I haven’t spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities.”
On the message she’s sending to other teens about premarital sex: “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
This will be mom Lynne’s third grandchild (Britney has two young sons herself). “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious,” Lynne says. “She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
Nickelodeon’s statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

In case you hacvent realise, you dont fire women for getting pregnant and then keeping a goodimage..all teenager have sex, Jamie Lynn is pretty much goodpublicity that if yo u have sex you acan get pregnant,….so what, fire someone for being human.LOL….HOPE SOME OF YOU DONT HAVE TEENAGE KIDS, but your way of thinking is just too puritan and stuck in the old ages…
If you can take responsibilty and have the money to pay for your child, then by all means do have your baby….at 16 she has earned a lot more than some 40 year olds…so if she mistakenly gets pregnant adn wants to keep it, I say bravo for stepping up to the plate…so you asusme when MTV says safe sex and your kids gets condoms in schools then they will not pregnant??? dream on and stick your head in teh sand while your kids indulge…
nicnic - please don’t forget that everyone was a young person at one point. So to answer your question, those who think they everything about being a young person generally do. Because they’ve already been through everything you are only now starting to go through and have the luxury of hindsight. To be able to look back and know how they would or should have handled something differently is a kind of wisdom.
However, those who are older need to take into account that you are going to make your own decisions regardless of what advice you might receive and to accept that you need to make your own mistakes to earn the same kind of wisdom they wish they could just share with you.

Well that’s the end of her “career”. If her mother had any cujones, she would make both her girls listen up but good. She would have to tell them that THEY have to get their life in order ASAP and without her (cause she obviously has been all wrong all along), If it means staying home with your baby 24/7 for the next 10 years then so be it. Forget about career or trying to do anything outside of striving to be the best parent ever. She will have to sacrifice everything and put her baby first. No relying on mom or family members. They already are the worst enablers in showbusiness.
Miapocca, I had a contract with Nickelodeon, and in part of it, it said that if you don’t keep a clean public image, Nickelodeon WILL fire you. And plus, her show got cancelled a longgggg time ago.

nicnic: It’s nice to hear that you “don’t run your house” - what that says to me is that your parents’ have done a “good job” raising you… and of course at your age- it is ok to have an opinion and to voice that opinion and to debate the issues, that’s one way in which young ppl. such as yourself grow into whole, productive members of society… my point is that in this country with the take-over of tabloid news, this stuff is glorified and as we see splashed across glossy magazines as if it is a “good thing” to be 16, unmarried, (obviously), living with a 19-yr. old boyfriend and preggers! It is NOT A GOOD THING! Alot of girls’ will see JLS on the cover of OK magazine, getting loads of attention because of her lapse in judgement and in their adolexcent mind may think hey- I can do that too and also get loads of attention from my family, school, friends, etc… it’s one thing to make a mistake, deal with it, learn from it, etc… quite another to broadcast that “mistake” on the cover of a glossy magazine in which you were paid for the interview/ pictures, etc… And, no if I had daughters, I would NOT ALLOW them to watch her show… I would not want them viewing her in a “Disney” role as a real life pregnant 16-yr-old= those are defintiely not the kind of “family values” I promote in my household! There are plenty other “teen stars” doing good that girls’ can “look up to” if they so choose– i.e. Miley Cyrus to name one, she may be 16- but unfortunately and I am sorry to say- she is still a child, a teen yes, but nonetheless a child who needs parental guidance, support, and most importantly unconditional love in order to make the right decisions regarding her life, not decisions where a girl, any girl ends up pregnant at 16~! It’s just not acceptable!

She and her parents should be embarrassed and hang their heads in shame. Also, don’t assume she has so much money. She hasn’t worked long enough or been successful enough to live the high life and hire a nanny.

Also- at 16 you HAVE NO IDEA what kind of a responsibilty it is to take care of a child, not only is it a 24/7 day job- it is a lifetime job of love, (yes) but also adult responsibility mixed in with an overload of HARD WORK- sleepless nights, stress, worry, total 24/7 responsibility of another human being- that many ADULTS cannot handle- let alone a 16-yr. old “teen”~… unless and until you have children of your own, you just cannot explain what parenting is all about… and to have to face up to that kind of responsibility at such a young age is not only sad, but it is uncalled for in today’s world of education and birth control- totally uncalled for and irresponsible~!

Why are some people still insisting that this whole story was fabricated by OK! magazine?
The Spears clan have had what, 12 hours or so since this story first published, so unless they are literally hibernating in some underground nucleur shelter without any access to a fuh-reaking media outlet, there has been bountiful time even for their grandmother’s corpse to claw her way out to contest the false statements. Also, didn’t that Perez guy announced earlier both mother and daughter were spotted catching ‘Juno’ [a movie about a pregnant teen, how ironic eh] together in the midst of all this effing hoohah? Either this whole neurotic mess is really a ploy to convince Britney to stfu and realise that the whole world does not revolve around her fat neck or, the Spears women really need to be reminded often to keep their stupid legs together.
Each of them are to be blamed. Their father should have had reserved the gun to shoot the boyfriend’s balls instead of scaring fangirls off his front yard. Kidding… Not really.
But truth of the matter is, Lynne should end this whole “stage mom” bullshiet and start being a real mother for once. Who is the disciplinarian in this family? Certainly not both of them, from what I can see. Their daughters wouldn’t be sexually active by 14 and getting pregnant at 16 if one of them had stood up and instilled some sense of discipline in the household. Every one of them just needs to grow the **** up and take accountability of their own ******* lives and learn to ******* police themselves better.
