OlderJamie Lynn Spears is Pregnant
Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old sister of Britney, is 12 weeks pregnant!!!!!!
The Zoey 101 star says the father is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Here are some interview snippets via OK!:
On the pregnancy news being a shock to her and Casey: “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
On keeping the news to herself when she first found out: “As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody. Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
On her mother not liking the news of her pregnancy: “[My mom Lynne] was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
On her future with Nickelodeon series Zoey 101: “I haven’t spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities.”
On the message she’s sending to other teens about premarital sex: “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
This will be mom Lynne’s third grandchild (Britney has two young sons herself). “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious,” Lynne says. “She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
Nickelodeon’s statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

ok people, its not like you guys have never made a mistake and for the record jamie- lynn doesnt live with her boyfriend, BRITNEY… told her NOT TOO!!! so britney was good mom but the whole thing with k-fed messed her up so stop calling her a bad mom and stuff. and as far as Jamie- Lynn goes, im happy for her i mean she isnt just giving the baby away or killing it, she is keeping it and to me that shows great responsiblity ti her choice she made. and im not a big Spears family fan, im just a Jamie- Lynn fan so dont go off on me. thanks

Jamie Lynn as my respect still, as she’s taking care of the baby. I’m a younger teen but I’m not gonna have a baby at 16, let alone have sex(dear Lord)
I’m also not gonna completely believe this until I either 1) see her bump or 2)hear her talking about it on a video or something.
i was shocked when i first heard.
but im glad that she is taking responsibity for this.
i dont see her any different just because shes britneys sister.

i was suprised. i always thought she had good morals. i had faith that she will turn the spears reputation into a respected one. but i guess she just made people think less of her and her family even more.

There’s nothing wrong with pre-marital sex in general, in fact waiting until you’re married when you are in a stable relationship, willing and ready, both for the act itself and to deal with any possible consequences doesn’t make much sense to me but that’s just my opinion…the legal age of consent in the UK is 16 so I don’t think that’s too young to be having sex but it is too young to be a parent. Hell I’m almost 21 and I don’t think I’m old enough to be a mum.
16 is also too young to be living with a boyfriend, even if he’s perfect…which I’m assuming LJ’s boyfriend isn’t because nobody is.
If he is her long time boyfriend then she should have been on the pill or injection or implant…something more reliable then just using condoms.
The best of luck to her because, no matter how much help she’s going to get, that baby is going to be relying on her for everything…not her mom, not her boyfriend…her.
Her relationship with the baby’s father could also crack under the pressure of the media circus that is going to shadow them for the forseeable future.
And I thought she was the normal one! I was shocked. Tsk, tsk. Too young to have a kid.
