OlderJamie Lynn Spears is Pregnant
Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old sister of Britney, is 12 weeks pregnant!!!!!!
The Zoey 101 star says the father is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Here are some interview snippets via OK!:
On the pregnancy news being a shock to her and Casey: “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
On keeping the news to herself when she first found out: “As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody. Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
On her mother not liking the news of her pregnancy: “[My mom Lynne] was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
On her future with Nickelodeon series Zoey 101: “I haven’t spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities.”
On the message she’s sending to other teens about premarital sex: “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
This will be mom Lynne’s third grandchild (Britney has two young sons herself). “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious,” Lynne says. “She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
Nickelodeon’s statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

Only because of the Spears family conduct in ppublic the past few years. But other than that Keisha being pregnant is still very much controversial. She hasn’t been seen in public too much has she? she is a walking outrage.

They saying it was an accident, i think she plan this all along. This girl had a pregnancy scare a few months or so and now she’s really pregnant. And what kind of mother let her 16yr old kid have a living boyfriend? This is so wrong!!
Jamie lynn is a little media ho ,just like her sister. What is wrong with these kids?. No more kiddy job for her.

I don’t think People or Teen people would touch this teen pregnancy story with a ten foot pole. She probably approach the better celeb mags and they probably said oh h e ll no. So it’s the likes of OK and InTouch that get this. Plus Jamie Lynn is not exactly a list. She’s a Nickelodeon star who is a teen with a much more famous sister. That’s like Dlist so OK magazine gets the interview.

Look at it this way, yes she’s young, but she has the money to support the child. LOTS OF TEENAGERS HAVE KIDS EVERYDAY and they don’t have her financial stability.

TV executives must be so grateful,such a christmas gift, you know, times have been hard since the beginning of the strike and suddenly this.
Now all this responsible teen and her wise mother have to do is to pick the one who signs the highest paycheck. I bet when it comes to this field they’ll do the smart move.

I think it’s unfair to suggest that JL’s pregnancy is about bad morals–teenagers are encouraged to behave like adults, including the idea that casual sex is fine, that having sex with a boyfriend is expected, and that ‘everyone does it’. If adults treat sex casually, so will teenagers, so where do the “bad moral judgments” really start?
The only bright side is, unlike most unwed teenage mothers, JL is at least in the financial position to care for her baby, and apparently will be supported (emotionally) by her mother.

I can’t say I’m surprised - I mean, look at the rest of her family. At least it’s not drugs.
Her career is probably over, though - I mean, do you think Nickelodeon is going to want anything to do with a pregnant teen? No way!
I just hope that none of these girls who idolize her follow in her footsteps - it’ll be easier on Jamie, having a child at 16 because she’s got money. She won’t have to struggle to find a job, drop out of school, or have to pay for childcare. But if teenagers who don’t have that advantage do what she does, they’ll be in a much worse condition.

New life is always a great thing but wow- that Spears family has been hit with some real shocks in ‘07. She’s a baby having a baby and there is nothing exciting about that.
Hopefully she has people in her life (aunts, uncles… anyone else who has had a child) that can help aide her in raising this child until she’s a bit older. It’s so sad- she can’t even legally buy herself a drink or even vote and she’s supposed to be taking care of a child in about 5 months… that’s intense.
One good thing she did say in the interview was that she wants to raise this baby outside of Hollywood. She and her older sister lead through example that not everyone can really conquer and handle being a star. It’s good she won’t be in the middle of Hollyweird trying to raise a child when she herself is a child.
this is just sad. she’s only 16. i don’t know if i’d keep the baby if i was in her position.

What the ****? She’s worse than Britney!? At least Britney got pregnant in her 20’s. Jamie’s only 16!!! Is this really confirmed? Because OK magazine did lie about kicking Vanessa out of HSM3 and that Zanessa broke up… So, is OK mag really that reliable?
