Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old sister of Britney, is 12 weeks pregnant!!!!!!
The Zoey 101 star says the father is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Here are some interview snippets via OK!:
On the pregnancy news being a shock to her and Casey: “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
On keeping the news to herself when she first found out: “As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody. Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
On her mother not liking the news of her pregnancy: “[My mom Lynne] was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
On her future with Nickelodeon series Zoey 101: “I haven’t spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities.”
On the message she’s sending to other teens about premarital sex: “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
This will be mom Lynne’s third grandchild (Britney has two young sons herself). “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious,” Lynne says. “She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
Nickelodeon’s statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

Statutory rape? What about consentual sex of a female minor who probably pursued and manipulated an older guy? Accident….doubt it! Do good “Christians” not learn about birth control and taking responsibility for bringing children into the world as “children”? Nothing to crow about in Ok! Magazine….simply cannot imagine the lack of parenting that went into both of the Spears girls as demonstrated by their lacking values in the press.
It’s sad that many wonderful, mature, and educated women who would make phenomenal mothers are unable to procreate when uneducated and empty young women get pregnant as unwed minors?!
The only normal ones in the family is probably their brother Bryan. I just cant believe it thought u know, does anyone know whats going to happen to her and her show? well hopefully they post the ok magazine spread so i can read it, but its just so horrible a baby having a baby what is this world coming to, i know of a 14 already had twins in my neighborhood and its just horrible
The spears mom (i don’t know or care what her name is) sucks a a parent and needs to just drop the title of mom/mother. She failed Britney and Jamie Lynn. I nominate her for worst mom of the year.

You know Britney’s whole virgin act was just that. She was having sex at 14 and highly sexual. Justin wasn’t her first as she claimed. This was all revealed last month in an expose. It’s amazing Britney didn’t get pregnant at 16 either, or if she did she had abortions. The father is an alcoholic and the mother is a stage mom. Instead of really instilling values and proper morals, she was pushing her kids into showbiz, at any cost.

This is sickening… Can you imagine all the young girls out there that look up to her because they love her show, I think they should discontinue the show or replace her so her bad upbringing doesnt rub off onto other young girls because there are thousands of pre-teens out there who will look at what has happened and think “if she did it, why shouldnt i?” just my 2 cents..

I think it’s unfair to suggest that JL’s pregnancy is about bad morals–teenagers are encouraged to behave like adults, including the idea that casual sex is fine, that having sex with a boyfriend is expected, and that ‘everyone does it’. If adults treat sex casually, so will teenagers, so where do the “bad moral judgments” really start?
The only bright side is, unlike most unwed teenage mothers, JL is at least in the financial position to care for her baby, and apparently will be supported (emotionally) by her mother.

Factors: Having britney for a sister, having britney’s parents as parents. I agree with everyone, what kind of sane parents will allow their 16 year old daughter to live with her 19 year old boyfriend. What were they thinking, 16 is the new 18 year old. From where I came from, girls cannot have boyfriends until they are 18, respectable girls at least.
