OlderJamie Lynn Spears is Pregnant
Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old sister of Britney, is 12 weeks pregnant!!!!!!
The Zoey 101 star says the father is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Here are some interview snippets via OK!:
On the pregnancy news being a shock to her and Casey: “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
On keeping the news to herself when she first found out: “As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody. Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
On her mother not liking the news of her pregnancy: “[My mom Lynne] was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
On her future with Nickelodeon series Zoey 101: “I haven’t spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities.”
On the message she’s sending to other teens about premarital sex: “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
This will be mom Lynne’s third grandchild (Britney has two young sons herself). “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious,” Lynne says. “She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
Nickelodeon’s statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

how can it be for someone at tat age to be having a child I thought she would have taken the smarter path and become something of herself instead she wrecks it by getting pregnant?
I hope the Spears family invested wisely. Britney’s career is dead and now Jamie Lynn’s is too! And I don’t think people will be running out to buy the mom’s parenting book!!! What a freaking punchline this family has turned in to. This is a shame though. She’s just a kid…

What a mess of a family. Hopefully she’ll be a better mom than her sister is turning out to be. Not surprised Mama spears has put her parenting book on hold, she’s not exactly the best example.
jeez..get a freakin abortion..no I don’t believe to use it as a form of birth control, but don’t go and mess up a child’s life just so you can live with yourself (for not getting one). You’re to damn young to have a kid..I’m 33 and am JUST starting trying..and..oh…I’m MARRIED.
I really don’t understand why Brit and JL’s mom gets blamed for this. I don’t think any mom can control her daughter’s behavior all the time. Sigh…, but I do think, despite what Britney has done in the recent years, I thought her younger sister knew a whole lot better what to do with her future. Media is to blame. Having deep relationships as teens should be banned. Teens are acting like adults when they actually aren’t. I wasn’t like that as a teenager and as a 20-something yr-old, I still do not believe having relationships before marriage. Call me naive. Whatever. I truly feel sorry for JL, though… She made a big, big mistake.

People have been younger and having kids and no one bashes them, it’s Jamie’s and her boyfriends choice what to do, not any of ours, yes, it was bad but bashing her isn’t going to change anything. Especially since technically it isn’t any of our business. Also, how do you know that she will become like her sister, there is nothing that says she will, a lot of young mothers turn out to be the greatest parents, and I don’t get why you bash her, what if it was you or anyone that you know? Think about that.
However, OK magazine isn’t the most reliable source out there, actually, it’s the complete opposite, most of their stories are made up and false so you never know how real this is.
I wonder if the ‘Nickelodeon source’ was also written in OK Magazine.

Why didn’t that moronic mother take her child, who is dating a 19 year old, to the Dr. for an IUD, Depo-Provera shots, etc. These are very good and very reliable forms of birth control. There is no way I would two teenagers to use birth control wisely.
