OlderSaint Nic Gives ‘Compass’ To Kids
Nicole Kidman (in Prada) brings smiles to an audience of sick children, their families and the staff of Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick as she hosts a special screening of The Golden Compass on Tuesday.
“This is a small gesture and I would just like to say I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year,” she said. “I play a villain in this film, so to all the little kids – don’t stay.”
“You put a big smile on all our faces and make us feel happy,” said 7-year-old cancer patient Cooper Smeaton. “Thank you for everything you do for us, we love you.”
“We’re deeply grateful to Nicole for her constant generosity,” foundation CEO Elizabeth Crundall said. “For many of the children attending this screening it will be a rare and welcome break from fighting a serious illness in hospital. Nicole’s ongoing support, kindness and dedication is extraordinary.”
The screening was held at Hoyts Fox Studios in the Entertainment Quarter of Sydney, Australia.

Natalie, why are you searching for pictures of Nicole just to post them here? What you posted under the name “Deb” (clever, by the way) in no way shows what you’re intending it to show. Have you ever been photographed in front of dozens and dozens flashing lightbulbs? There’s really no way to know what will show and what won’t. It’s a pretty safe bet that she thought this would be something that would give coverage.

Kidman wins damages over snub claim

Actress Nicole Kidman, the face of Chanel No.5, has accepted substantial damages over a claim that she snubbed the perfume by promoting a competitor.
The 40-year-old Oscar winner was not at London’s High Court for the settlement of her libel action against The Daily Telegraph.
Her solicitor, John Kelly, told Mr Justice Gray that she had suffered considerable embarrassment and distress over the story, which appeared last month.
The item in the newspaper’s Spy column falsely alleged that, whilst in London to promote her new film, The Golden Compass, Ms Kidman had put Chanel’s nose out of joint by attending press junkets with a bottle of Jo Malone, her “favourite perfume”, close at hand.
It also falsely claimed that despite having signed a multi-million pound contract with Chanel, the actress was openly promoting a competitor’s product and “kept dabbing” on the perfume whenever she had a moment.
Mr Kelly said that the story meant that Ms Kidman had acted in an unprofessional and disloyal manner by brazenly snubbing Chanel, had flouted the terms of her contractual obligations and had proved she could not be trusted to honour them.
He added that Telegraph Media Group Ltd now accepted that the allegations were untrue and, indeed, had established that the source of the article invented the story.
It had agreed to pay Ms Kidman her legal costs and substantial undisclosed damages, which she intended to donate to Unifem, the United Nations Development Fund for Women.
David Price, the newspaper’s solicitor-advocate, sincerely apologised on its behalf.

It’s just funny how Nicole can disappear when she wants too but the paps can find her in the middle of Boston (when nothing is going on up there..had to start the rumors on the ring), some little cafe in upstate NY (first known date) or in the middle of a park in Nashville where no one else appeared to be with them. They were just walking hand in hand through the middle of the park (4th of July I believe) and how about when on a hoiiday, they had a gym in Nashville open up just for them to workout and yet Keith had a complete gym in his house. Seems to me they could have stayed in the nice private house and workout out..but than how would we have known how in love they are???

She wasn’t wearing her wedding rings because she was also working on the movie, “Australia” that day. They finish today in Sydney. The place where the movie was screened in on the grounds of where the film is being shot. Are you going to wear your wedding rings to the movie set with a chance of getting them stoelen? I think not! She was wearing them on Sunday & said she & Keith spending Christmas in Australia.
