Jamie Lynn Spears: I Want To Find Out the Sex of the Baby Because I’m Impatient
New OK! interview snippets from 16-year-old mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears have surfaced via CBB.
On telling Casey: [I called Casey after the doctor's appointment and met in person the next day.] It was something we couldn’t really talk about over the phone. We met and talked about everything and decided what we wanted to do. He was 100 percent supportive, and we figured it out.
On telling her mother: [I told my mom right before Thanksgiving.] She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.
On her first ultrasound: [Mom and Casey were there.] I was just kinda sitting there. I didn’t expect to be able to see all that. Again, it was a shock. At first, everything is so shocking and you’re scared. But then when I saw it, I was like ‘It’s going to be okay.’ It’s things like that that make you realize it’ll be okay.
On her body: I think it’s something that you just know how to do. As your body changes and all these things happen, I think it becomes natural to know what to do. I will have to be strong and do what’s right. I’m sure it’ll get hard at times. I’m sure I’ll be grumpy. I have to remember in the end that I have to stand up and be strong.
I’m not showing, but some days I’m like: ‘Wow, I feel like I’m showing today,’ and Mom says: ‘No you’re not. Be quiet.’ It’s great to have her there. She is really supportive of me.

JAMIE LYNN SPEARS SAYS…
On believing she’ll be a good mom: I love babies, and I have my nephews that I love. I have a great mom and she has raised three kids, so if I take lessons from her, I think I’ll be great. All my friends have little brothers or sisters.
On the sex of the baby: I want to find out as soon as I can because I’m impatient. I just want a healthy, happy baby, so the whether it’s a boy or a girl really doesn’t matter.
On names: I haven’t thought about baby names yet. I would have to hear some options!
On morning sickness: I definitely had sickness, but it’s getting better. It was at its worst a few weeks ago.
On not having any cravings: I haven’t really got much of an appetite right now. I mean, I eat, but I’m not going crazy or anything.
On preparations such as the nursery: I haven’t even had time to think about that much yet as I have had so much going on. All you can be is excited now, so definitely, I will be excited.
On marriage and the living situation: Jamie Lynn wants to make clear that they do not live together — she lives with Lynne, while he lives with his parents.
Right now, we’re just focusing on the baby and having a healthy baby. We’re trying just to think about that right now so we haven’t really talked about that.
On Casey as a father: He has always been good with babies. He’s like a big teddy bear, especially around babies, so I know he’ll make a good dad.
On her hopes for 2008: Just to have a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy and for everything to fall in place and to become a stronger person from here.
MOMMA LYNNE SPEARS SAYS…
On finding out Jamie Lynn was pregnant: She came to me and said: ‘Mom, I have to tell you something. Here, it’s in a note.’ I was taken aback. I read the note, which of course said that she was pregnant, and ran into the living room. I said: ‘I don’t believe this. This is not funny!’ I looked at Casey, and he was staring straight ahead. She said: ‘Yes, Momma, it’s true.’
On if Jamie Lynn and Casey should get married: We’re not going there. We’re focusing on the baby. We’ve got so much to focus on right now.
On grandchildren: My grandsons are so adorable! Of course, another little boy would be precious, but a little girl would be precious too. It doesn’t matter so long as it’s healthy — that’s what’s important.
Her hopes for 2008: Health, peace, happiness and a real good healthy focus for life, for all [my children's] lives.

i meant - think about the kids and not what their next PR stunt should be.
They are such a hopeless case
JLS and Miley Cyrus are great role models. Having sex at such a young age and getting knocked up. Disney and Nickelodeon are to blame for creating these teen prostitutes.
yessss…take advice from your MOTHER of all people….this is disgracefull!!! it spoils teen’s names!!! grrrr…..we are not that stupid people!!!
I mean the girl made a mistake and got pregnant.
Its not abnormal for someone to loose their virginity at 16. Its just unfortunate she got pregnant.
Atleast shes taking responsibility for her actions. Shes going to take care of it. Shes not aborting. I respect her for that.
I mean theres nothing her or her mom can do about. Why be angry? People make mistakes… Life goes on..
JEREL
ps its not cool to call a 16 year old a slutt or a *****.
katherine @ 12/19/2007 at 11:28 pm I mean really!
Why be PROUD TO BE A KNOCKED UP TEEN!!!!
Her mother needs to have her head examined.
Lynn SPears is a horror.
Birth Control WORKS
=====
ITA. the root of all these mess created by Brit and her sister are their parents. pimping her daughters at the very young age, not properly educating and guiding them, All they care is how much dollars will these bring in. sad!
I really hope Jamie Lynn isnt taking too much notice of all these horrible nasty comments… Congratulations to here, I truely hope she has a safe/healthy pregnancy and baby… All i can say is dont think too much about labour - that sh*t hurts!!!
Being pregnant is a wonderful thing, and i hope she enjoys this experience as much as possible and doesnt pay too much attention to all the nasty comments - she aint the first 16 year old to get pregnant…
Rich and to stupid to get birth control and use it to make sure you don’t get knocked up. Now how is she going to be smart enough to know when to fed the child are brush it’s teeth. Sounds familiar.
Idiot. Obviously she does not know how risky it is to have a baby at the age of 16. It is highly likely for the baby to develop mental or physical deformities. Add also the cousin ******* genetic history of the spears family and you have one disturbed child
Oh my god, just shut up! She will be nothing like Britney. Britney threw her family out of her life while Jamie Lynn wants help! Sure she made a huge mistake but she’s taken credit for it fully.
And of course she’s excited! She’s going to have a kid! She should be excited! And of course she’ll be happy, if you were having a kid I’m sure no matter what that’d whoever you are would be excited too!
And for her mother, she can’t do anything! Her daughters pregnant and she can’t change that! She doesn’t have to be supportive of Jamie Lynn! SHe could throw her onto the streets but she’s supportive because that’s all she can do at a time like this.
Ok, first of all, you have to be at least 4 months along for an ultrasound and as small as jamie lynn is, she could pull off being 4 months, so i think 12 weeks is exagerated. Also, Britney was seen baby shopping, which sparked rumors of her being pregnant, then sparked rumors, that she was shopping for x-tina, but x-tina shot those rumors down, by saying she recieved nothing from spears. So that leaves me wondering if britney has known the whole time, before anyone else and the gossip pages, are just making up BS, that Britney was the last too know.
At least Miley Cyrus did the right thing and terminated her pregnancy.
It’s not biologically unhealthy for a girl this age to have kids — I’m not sure where the idea that her body’s not ready’s coming from. That’s what menstruations means — your body’s ready.
That said, this is obviously unplanned and not a good development in any way. Especially “I’ll do what my mom did”, which is NUTS. When both of your daughters go down in flames after you’ve pushed them into the entertainment industry? That’s when you realise that your parenting skills might need some help.
To be honest, I sort of hope she and the father shack up somewhere in Arkansas, use the Nickelodeon money to get established, then try to live as normal, unfamous people. And… get advice from outside the family, because yikes.
what is wrong with this family?! getting pregnant at 16…way to go Brit…nice role model!
Two words — BIRTH CONTROL.
You can take the family out of the trailer park, but you can’t take the trailer park out of the family.
People need to get a life. Jamie Lynn isn’t the first 16 year old to get knocked up and she won’t be the last. Would it make people feel better if she would have gotten rid of it on the down low. Everyone who waited until they were married good for you. But for the rest of us who started ******** in your teen years it could have been you too. So get off your high horse…**** happens! Thats life!
And for the parents wanting to know what to say to your kids. Get off you butt and talk to your children. We shouldn’t wait for some thing to happen to have real convos with our children. Pregnancy is real and AIDS is real and still out there. Don’t wait until a teen star gets knocked up to talk to your kids about sex.
you know what? i think a lot of people are being way too cruel about this situation. she is a 16 year old who had sex with a guy she’d been dating for a couple of years. do people forget what it’s like to be a 16 year old girl and pressures and urges you have when it comes to sex? and the fact that unfortunatly most teenagers (especially when hormones are involved) don’t think before they act. i always thought jamie-lynn seemed like a normal young woman, and i mean she met her boyfriend at church, she just did what so many young people today are doing: having sex. yes she got pregnant from it, but teenage pregnancies happen to ALOT of good girls. it’s unfortunate but it doesn’t make her or her mother the anti-christ and they shouldn’t hide their heads in shame. though i would never condone teen pregnancy, i also would never judge a teen girl who became pregnant because i am so aware of how easily it can happen. even the nicest and most moral of girls sometimes give into sexual urges, and unfortunatly for jamie-lynn she got pregnant. it really doesn’t make her a bad role model, in my opinion. both my 12 and 13 year old sisters love Zoey 101 and they both know she’s pregnant now but neither of them suddenly think teen pregnancy is cool, they’re mostly just upset the show might be cancelled. And as for people saying mean things about Lynn Spears for being supportive and proud of her daughter, well what did you expect her to say? “I don’t support this at all, I’m ashamed of her, I disown her, I won’t help her, she should get an abortion.” Well if she said that I think she’d be a waaaaaaay worse mother. Even though they are kind of media whores, I think everyone should just leave the Spears women alone. Obviously from Jamie’s pregnancy to Britney’s total breakdown there is a lot of difficult and sad things going on there and really it makes me sad to see. We’re so quick to judge Jamie even though any 16 year old girl could be in her position, and if you think your daughter or sister would never put herself in the situation to get pregnant, obviously you don’t remember what it’s like to be 16. And we’re so quick to judge Britney even though she’s had a camera in her face since she was 16 and has had every move she makes judged, photographed and documented. She can’t leave the house without a slew of paparassi following her and from her actions over the past year I think it’s really obvious she is suffering from some sort of serious mental breakdown, which is serious and sad.
I just feel bad for these girls.
Say what you want, but I refuse to think a child is anything less than a blessing. She may not be ready right now, but in 6 months, she can be, and she has to be. Im going to say what no one else is saying.
CONGRATS TO JAMIE AND CASEY!
Right now, they need support, not harsh words and childish name calling. Whats done is done, now it’s time to face the music.
I agree something fishy is going on.
I believe she is 5 months and the family has known for a long time.
Lynn Spears is nasty trailertrash.
How you going to talk about an ultrasound test this soon. Pr people are shopping the post lol.
Sorry there is no way to clean this up this is as nasty as it comes and as a mom with kids watcing, I will not let them watch any more.
This whole situation is utterly ridiculous…it’s like watching some bad soap opera…
Wait a minute!! What is all this nonsense about Miley Cyrus being pregnant or terminating a pregnancy???
Miley Cyrus was NEVER pregnant (it was just a baseless rumor) and in fact has gone public with her personal belief in not having sex until she is an adult. Why tar her with the same brush as JL simply because they are close to the same age?
I understand the disappointment with JL (I have kids who watch her show and I worry, too, what they will learn from this), but for goodness’ sake, a little compassion and generosity wouldn’t hurt either–just because she’s on television or because she’s Brittney Spears’ sister doesn’t make her less of a scared, confused 16 year old who has to deal with her whole life changing. Reading viscious insults and judgmental things like “trailer trash” (about a 16 year old kid) makes me think of the Salem witch hunts…
I hope Jamie Lynne has a great support system to help her through the pregnancy. I remember when I was 15 and pregnant. It was scary, but luckily I had my family members to guide me and it made the situation less hard. At least with Jamie Lynne, it seems the dad will stick around, while in my case, he ran. But I am 28 now, happily married with 2 more children so its not the end of the world. Stay strong Jamie Lynne.
I am not blaming Jamie Lynn for having sex at 16, cuz let’s be real.. MANY do. But really is it so hard to get on the pill or put a condom on every time?! Especially when you put yourself in the position of being a role model to the young kids who watch you on Nickelodeon? If shes going to talk to the media about this, talk about how important it is to use protection every single time.
Miley Cyrus was indeed pregnant. She had better publicists working in her camp. Disney protected their cash cow vigorously. It is well known in Hollywood circles about Miley’s predicament . Disney’s lawyers forced her to act swiftly.
“Yes, sadly it’s true.” ‘Miley confirmed the pregnancy rumors during a interview. “I’m going to take good care of my baby. I’ve already gained 7 pounds. I was in real shock when it happened accidentally. I went a little too far. I’m sorry to all of my fans.’”
“While Miley is still planning on going on tour for her new solo cd, she’s currently filming the series finale of ‘Hannah Montana’. Even though she’s keeping hush about who’s the father. Miley’s parents are very disappointed in her: ‘Whatever’s meant to happen will happen. I guess it was meant to be this way.”
