OlderJamie Lynn Spears: I Want To Find Out the Sex of the Baby Because I’m Impatient
New OK! interview snippets from 16-year-old mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears have surfaced via CBB.
On telling Casey: [I called Casey after the doctor's appointment and met in person the next day.] It was something we couldn’t really talk about over the phone. We met and talked about everything and decided what we wanted to do. He was 100 percent supportive, and we figured it out.
On telling her mother: [I told my mom right before Thanksgiving.] She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.
On her first ultrasound: [Mom and Casey were there.] I was just kinda sitting there. I didn’t expect to be able to see all that. Again, it was a shock. At first, everything is so shocking and you’re scared. But then when I saw it, I was like ‘It’s going to be okay.’ It’s things like that that make you realize it’ll be okay.
On her body: I think it’s something that you just know how to do. As your body changes and all these things happen, I think it becomes natural to know what to do. I will have to be strong and do what’s right. I’m sure it’ll get hard at times. I’m sure I’ll be grumpy. I have to remember in the end that I have to stand up and be strong.
I’m not showing, but some days I’m like: ‘Wow, I feel like I’m showing today,’ and Mom says: ‘No you’re not. Be quiet.’ It’s great to have her there. She is really supportive of me.

JAMIE LYNN SPEARS SAYS…
On believing she’ll be a good mom: I love babies, and I have my nephews that I love. I have a great mom and she has raised three kids, so if I take lessons from her, I think I’ll be great. All my friends have little brothers or sisters.
On the sex of the baby: I want to find out as soon as I can because I’m impatient. I just want a healthy, happy baby, so the whether it’s a boy or a girl really doesn’t matter.
On names: I haven’t thought about baby names yet. I would have to hear some options!
On morning sickness: I definitely had sickness, but it’s getting better. It was at its worst a few weeks ago.
On not having any cravings: I haven’t really got much of an appetite right now. I mean, I eat, but I’m not going crazy or anything.
On preparations such as the nursery: I haven’t even had time to think about that much yet as I have had so much going on. All you can be is excited now, so definitely, I will be excited.
On marriage and the living situation: Jamie Lynn wants to make clear that they do not live together — she lives with Lynne, while he lives with his parents.
Right now, we’re just focusing on the baby and having a healthy baby. We’re trying just to think about that right now so we haven’t really talked about that.
On Casey as a father: He has always been good with babies. He’s like a big teddy bear, especially around babies, so I know he’ll make a good dad.
On her hopes for 2008: Just to have a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy and for everything to fall in place and to become a stronger person from here.
MOMMA LYNNE SPEARS SAYS…
On finding out Jamie Lynn was pregnant: She came to me and said: ‘Mom, I have to tell you something. Here, it’s in a note.’ I was taken aback. I read the note, which of course said that she was pregnant, and ran into the living room. I said: ‘I don’t believe this. This is not funny!’ I looked at Casey, and he was staring straight ahead. She said: ‘Yes, Momma, it’s true.’
On if Jamie Lynn and Casey should get married: We’re not going there. We’re focusing on the baby. We’ve got so much to focus on right now.
On grandchildren: My grandsons are so adorable! Of course, another little boy would be precious, but a little girl would be precious too. It doesn’t matter so long as it’s healthy — that’s what’s important.
Her hopes for 2008: Health, peace, happiness and a real good healthy focus for life, for all [my children's] lives.

I can’t believe how quick and ready some are to crucify this girl. Yes, she’s 16 and made a mistake by getting pregnant but things like this DO happen to teenage girls. I think, regardless, how she was raised has NOTHING to do with the type of person/mother she will turn out to be. Only one person is responsible for the choices they make and it’s themselves. It’s going to be tough, no doubt, but I think she will be a good mom.
*just a side note: I don’t think their age is something to be all hyped up about either. They are 3 yrs apart. When she’s 20 he’ll be 23…it just sounds bad b/c they BOTH are young. I think we should support them NOT crucify them….

Patricia: GO ahead and plan for your baby… even though our world is tospy-turvy at best, it sounds like you and your husband plan to raise your child the right way- with parental love, discpipline and clear-cut boundaries… even though they may not always listen to our “sound advice” you keep at it and as we parents’ all know you never give up on your kids- no matter what kind of foolish mistakes/tumbles they may take… also- there is nothing better when the nurse/Dr. places that warm newborn bundle in your arms for the 1st time- so much promise ahead of that little one… I assure you that if you choose to have a child, it will be one of the hardest, most difficult jobs you will ever “take on’- but on the flip side- it is one of the most precious and rewarding ones you will ever have… there is nothing like bringing a child into this world (albeit- at the “right time”)… Good Luck to you… & Happy Holidays!

This was plan. Birth control when use properly (Pills and condoms), works. I have use both since the age of 17 & now 35. I have only been pregnant twice and those times I wasn’t on BC and was trying. The boy being 18 probably wasn’t a virgin and has definitely used a condom before. They even advertised BC on TV for Pete’s. Like Solange Knowles a few years ago, I think this was for attention. Many of my friends in High School were teen moms and a lot of them admitted they got pregnant on purpose.
Yeah, mistakes do happen. But when your a celebrity, its a big deal. Especially when its a sixteen year old getting pregnant. Some of you people have said for others so stop bashing them and they need privacy and yadda yadda yadda. If they really wanted privacy, they wouldn’t have told that magazine. I think that Lynne is a horrible mom. She failed with Britney, and now look at Jamie. Obviously, she has some bad parenting skills. Especially since she’s okay with her daughter being pregnant! Yeah, she should be excited and supportive, but if I had a sixteen year old daughter who got pregnant by a nineteen year old I would have gone nuts on her. Jamie keeps saying “oh yeah i’m excited” ….she should be scared! It doesn’t seem to be that Jamie has realized how big she has screwed up. Sixteen year olds aren’t ready for motherhood physically or emotionally, at least most of them aren’t. I hope Nick fires her, she’s a horrible rolemodel. They’re supposed to be ending the filming of the fourth season (I think, at least thats what I read) of Zoey 101. What are they going to do with a baby bump Zoey? All I can say is the Spears family are trash.

b: they most certainly can FIRE her if there is a morality clause attached to her contract which there usually is… and besides that we are talking about a 16-year old “teen”– she is NOT AN ADULT, therefore her “career” responsibilities would OBVIOUSLY differ from those of an adult! Besides you DO NOT glorify the fact that your underage daughter winds up preggers at 16 with a gloss-filled photo shoot! I agree with you about “this world” being crazy- it is! When we ever turned the corner and NOW “reward” ppl. for their irresponsible behavior INSTEAD of laying down the “law” and having them suffer the “consequences” from such behavior, I will never understand! We need to get back to having much more parental control, guidance, firm boundaries and firm discipline in our homes… Geez- enough broadcasting JLS “sitiutation”- she should feel shame NOT proudly parading her 16 yr. old pregnant self on covers of tabloid magazines! 16 year olds getting pregnant in 2007? Are we this third world country or what? In today’s age of information and education there’s no reason why a 16 year old and 18 year old should be getting pregnant. You watch ,she’s gonna end up with 4 baby daddy’s soon. She already said she’s not gonna marry the baby’s father. Yeah she’s on her way alright. WTF? Her sister lost custody of her kids will she be any different?

The magazine do not know sh!t.
My mom was 17 when she had me and it was her first time. She had a healthy term.I also think she did use protection.protection is not 100%. however, Its not the end of the world. There are a lot of teenage pregnancies all over the world.THink about when ppl got married really young back in the day…and had children…like 14 and 15 so I think she will be okay..she made a mistake . she just have to make the best of it.
these comments are why this girl should not be preggers. She’s 16 for Christ’s sake!! She should be in school!!! Sheezus. does this girl drive? Girls get raped all over the world but that still doesn’t make it ok. WTF? just because other 16 year olds have been having sex (not making love) & getting pregnant still doesn’t make it ok. we should be going forward in society not backwards. Not always…if you’ll look at the lables on ALL birth control methods, nothing is 100% effective. Remember that everyone. I have a friend who is a condom/birth control baby. The ONLY 100% proof birth control method is abstinence.
You don’t have to be trailer trash to get pregnant people…it happens to people from all walks of life.
I honestly don’t know how these young actors deal with being a roll role model at such a young age. That’s a lot of resposibility to put on someone so young. It’s hard for adults much less kids constantly in the public eye.
For all those kids, teens, tweens etc reading these boards…remember what I said above, NO birth control is 100% effective, ONLY abstinence. Just watch how her life unfolds after this and let it be a lesson for all of you on what could happen to you in the same situation. She may not have a terrible time, due to having plenty of money, where as not all of us/you do. Stay safe!
