Jamie Lynn Spears: I Want To Find Out the Sex of the Baby Because I’m Impatient

New OK! interview snippets from 16-year-old mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears have surfaced via CBB.

On telling Casey: [I called Casey after the doctor's appointment and met in person the next day.] It was something we couldn’t really talk about over the phone. We met and talked about everything and decided what we wanted to do. He was 100 percent supportive, and we figured it out.

On telling her mother: [I told my mom right before Thanksgiving.] She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.

On her first ultrasound: [Mom and Casey were there.] I was just kinda sitting there. I didn’t expect to be able to see all that. Again, it was a shock. At first, everything is so shocking and you’re scared. But then when I saw it, I was like ‘It’s going to be okay.’ It’s things like that that make you realize it’ll be okay.

On her body: I think it’s something that you just know how to do. As your body changes and all these things happen, I think it becomes natural to know what to do. I will have to be strong and do what’s right. I’m sure it’ll get hard at times. I’m sure I’ll be grumpy. I have to remember in the end that I have to stand up and be strong.

I’m not showing, but some days I’m like: ‘Wow, I feel like I’m showing today,’ and Mom says: ‘No you’re not. Be quiet.’ It’s great to have her there. She is really supportive of me.

JAMIE LYNN SPEARS SAYS…

On believing she’ll be a good mom: I love babies, and I have my nephews that I love. I have a great mom and she has raised three kids, so if I take lessons from her, I think I’ll be great. All my friends have little brothers or sisters.

On the sex of the baby: I want to find out as soon as I can because I’m impatient. I just want a healthy, happy baby, so the whether it’s a boy or a girl really doesn’t matter.

On names: I haven’t thought about baby names yet. I would have to hear some options!

On morning sickness: I definitely had sickness, but it’s getting better. It was at its worst a few weeks ago.

On not having any cravings: I haven’t really got much of an appetite right now. I mean, I eat, but I’m not going crazy or anything.

On preparations such as the nursery: I haven’t even had time to think about that much yet as I have had so much going on. All you can be is excited now, so definitely, I will be excited.

On marriage and the living situation: Jamie Lynn wants to make clear that they do not live together — she lives with Lynne, while he lives with his parents.

Right now, we’re just focusing on the baby and having a healthy baby. We’re trying just to think about that right now so we haven’t really talked about that.

On Casey as a father: He has always been good with babies. He’s like a big teddy bear, especially around babies, so I know he’ll make a good dad.

On her hopes for 2008: Just to have a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy and for everything to fall in place and to become a stronger person from here.

MOMMA LYNNE SPEARS SAYS…

On finding out Jamie Lynn was pregnant: She came to me and said: ‘Mom, I have to tell you something. Here, it’s in a note.’ I was taken aback. I read the note, which of course said that she was pregnant, and ran into the living room. I said: ‘I don’t believe this. This is not funny!’ I looked at Casey, and he was staring straight ahead. She said: ‘Yes, Momma, it’s true.’

On if Jamie Lynn and Casey should get married: We’re not going there. We’re focusing on the baby. We’ve got so much to focus on right now.

On grandchildren: My grandsons are so adorable! Of course, another little boy would be precious, but a little girl would be precious too. It doesn’t matter so long as it’s healthy — that’s what’s important.

Her hopes for 2008: Health, peace, happiness and a real good healthy focus for life, for all [my children's] lives.

How old is this dude? He looks older then her, like in his 20’s. If he is, I know its the south, but ewwww!

Charlene - that’s why her parents failed her. If they had put the smackdown on her from day 1, she wouldn’t be a teen mom.

Instill the fear of a beatdown in your kids, people…if you don’t, they’ll end up like this.

Erm i have to disagree with the people sticking up for her saying birth control is not 100% effective, if you dont want to get pregnant you can make sure you dont get pregnant!! use birth control on top of a condom and also make him pull out!! its not hard people!!

another website is now saying they have broke up, not sure if that is true..what a lovely classy family they are!!

Why are all of you so upset about this? So what that she’s only 16 y/o? Obviously she has the money to bring this kid up! Heck she’s getting a million dollars!!! for a pic of this baby. This alone will feed the kid for LIFE! She can always hire a full time nany to raise the kid who’ll turn out just fine!

Everyone is so judgemental about it. And rape? I mean c’mon! he’s 19 y/o… the laws in this country are outrageous! 19 is still a kid… they’re obvioulsy in love.. what charges are all of you talking about.

This country is really messed up, since when is it normal to sew a boy friend of your daughter? This is ridiculous!

As for setting an example to all the young girls.. I think the example should be set by the parents, and not blame everybody else around. Oh and btw, even though she is too young, and truly doesn’t understand the responsibility of caring for a child. She’s not the only teen having a baby! So get over yourselves you haters.

And I wish her best of luck! Better to have a kid, then not to have one.

My 2 cents worth... @ 12/20/2007 at 11:24 am

Listen up: Birth Control DOES WORK when used appropriately… I am a 30ish married mom with two wonderful boys’ 5 and under and am on what’s called “the pill”– now, I am very busy- working, mothering, running around, etc… I wil admit to the fact that sometimes I forget to take my pill- sometimes 3 + days in a row! (not smart, I KNOW)… but my point is is that I am still being PROTECTED and have not wound up with babe # 3~… so for all those screaming- b. control does not always work- yes, you are right- when the person taking the b. control DOES NOT WANT IT TO WORK! Even with all the ones, I’ve missed- I am STILL BEING PROTECTED and therefore there is NOT 1 LEGITAMATE REASON for this CHILD to be in the sad circumstance she finds herself in today- NOT 1~!

My 2 cents to the conversation…

btf,
FYI not many people here are going to agree with your post. there are so many things that one could argue with but i’ll just pick one to address: “better to have a kid, then not to have one”….are you kidding? what kind of nonsensical thought processes do you have going on in that rabbit hole of a head of yours?
p.s. learn how to spell

She is sooo hot, pll calm down **** happens there is soo many girls haveing baby’s at my school, i know its not a great thing to do at 16 but not like she did it on puppuse , so leave her alon danm

Ban ‘OK’………..

My 2 cents worth…
you are totally right. i used to take birth control and i would miss a couple of days here and there….all you have to do is take a double dose and then get back on track. THE PILL DOES WORK. i think people sometimes say that they “used birth control and still got pregnant” to cover up for their embarrassment and the fact that they DIDN’T use protection. now, this “excuse” has become a far too common explanation which breeds further ignorance and bad practices. btw, you CAN double up. my sister is a GYN/ONC and says this is a perfectly acceptable, effective and safe way to keep yourself protected after missing some doses.

matt09,
You sound like an idiot and the product of a faulty school system. You can’t even spell. What do Jamie Lynn’s looks have to do with anything that’s being discussed here? What school do you go to where so many girls are getting pregnant and no one seems to be receiving an education of any sort? Please let us know, so that no one makes the mistake of sending their kids there. Your parents should be embarrassed.

All young girls will now think it’s really cool to be pregnant like their idols Jaime-Lynn Spears and Miley Cyrus. I bet Walmart will start selling maternity clothes for tweens on the Olsen twins label.
*************************
No, I think Nordstroms will strart a tween maternity clothing line..lol..or maybe Macy’s will start one..lol

VsPink8 @ 12/20/2007 at 12:05 am

Oh my god, just shut up! She will be nothing like Britney. Britney threw her family out of her life while Jamie Lynn wants help! Sure she made a huge mistake but she’s taken credit for it fully.

And of course she’s excited! She’s going to have a kid! She should be excited! And of course she’ll be happy, if you were having a kid I’m sure no matter what that’d whoever you are would be excited too!

And for her mother, she can’t do anything! Her daughters pregnant and she can’t change that! She doesn’t have to be supportive of Jamie Lynn! SHe could throw her onto the streets but she’s supportive because that’s all she can do at a time like this.

So think about it and don’t go spouting of f your first opinions, think of it in their point of view!
************************
I think the above statement bears repeating. I agree with this poster. Whats done is done, and I see nothing wrong with the girl being excited about a new life in her body.

Miley Cyrus is not pregnant. Why bring her into this.

Anyway, Jamie Lynn sounds like the child she is in her interview.

Teenagers have been getting pregnant since the beginning of time. She has enough problems ahead that I’m not going to add my judgment on her.

But, I just think there is something very wrong about rushing your pregnant 16 year old daughter off to be on the cover of a magazine about it. Does this family consider nothing private?

E @ 12/19/2007 at 11:41 pm

wow.. how can a 16 year old body even handle pregnancy? she hasn’t even fully developed yet
****************************
Don’t be silly. Sixteen year olds have been having babies since the begging of time. Right now, as we speak, there are millions of sixteen year olds with child.

santeezy @ 12/20/2007 at 12:09 am

i\ im expecting a big turnout of teen mothers after this.
****************
Honey, are you living in a closet/ There already is a big turnout of teen mothers. It’s nothing new. You guys act like Jamie Lynn is the first sixteen year old to get pregnant since the begging of time.

what a stupid little girl, she sounds 5 in that interview.

The word in my two upper statements should be “beginning”, NOT “begging”.
Sixteen year olds have been getting pregnant since the beginning of time.
There’s nothing new about this.

Birth Control does work. Hell, even natural planning works. Sure nothing is 100% effective, but I’ll take 99.5% on the pill. I am a proof BC works. Even when you stop taking the pill, it takes a while to get pregnant. Use a condom for Pete’s sakes, forget getting pregnant> What about AIDs and Herpes. You’re playing sexual russian roulette when you don’t protect yourself

Annoying girl @ 12/20/2007 at 11:58 am

Nobody in Hollywood has natural childbirth anymore. They all…every last one…have C-section. Brit Brit had two C-sections and so will her sister. JLS won’t suffer the labour pains. Her new toy will pop out easily and they willl fed her drugs to combat the pain of her incision healing. Then she won’t be able to breast feed because of the high dosage of drugs in her system…or maybe she will. Who cares about drugged-up babies. It the way Hollywood rolls.

good for them…i guess…

Maria (Shorty) @ 12/20/2007 at 12:26 pm

I agree with so many of you — 16 year old girls getting pregnant is not new here. We’re only talking about this because she’s Brit’s baby sister.

She also sounds like she’s so much more mature than Brit and she WANTS her Mum in her life. I think she’ll be just fine. Yes, alot of her youth will go down the toilet when baby needs feeding, changing, etc., but let’s hope she’ll do well. She made a wacko mistake, but SHE’S dealing with it.

dramaqueen @ 12/20/2007 at 12:31 pm

I feel sorry for teens. People are worried about the message Jamie Lynn is sending. But what messages are the asshats on some of these boards sending?!?!? If you make a mistake… the world will skin you alive.

So most of you never made a mistake in your life??? You never had sex b4 you were married. You always used protection…and you go to church every Sunday. Good for you! I guess that makes it easier to pick on a 16 year old girl. Remember to keep you foot on her neck when your beating her down. What’s unbelievable is all the hate going around for a 16 year old child.

Teenage Pregnancy is not “new” . Back in the day when girls “got in trouble” the girls father would make the guy marry her. Have you heard of the saying “Gun Shot Wedding”? Or the girl was sent out of town and after she had the baby the family would give it away. So America has a long history of trying to cover up teenage pregnancy.

One more thing and I am done with this… To the women that birth control worked for you every time. Great I am happy for you guys. But sometimes the condem does break. Trust me I know. But I was lucky and I didn’t get preggers.

puffs plus @ 12/20/2007 at 12:39 pm

18 - actually it is the sex.
sex - either the male or female division of a species, esp. as differentiated with reference to the reproductive functions.

Although gender is commonly used interchangeably with sex, within the social sciences it often refers to specifically social differences, known as gender roles.

I learned this in human sexuality.
