OlderJamie Lynn Spears: I Want To Find Out the Sex of the Baby Because I’m Impatient
New OK! interview snippets from 16-year-old mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears have surfaced via CBB.
On telling Casey: [I called Casey after the doctor's appointment and met in person the next day.] It was something we couldn’t really talk about over the phone. We met and talked about everything and decided what we wanted to do. He was 100 percent supportive, and we figured it out.
On telling her mother: [I told my mom right before Thanksgiving.] She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.
On her first ultrasound: [Mom and Casey were there.] I was just kinda sitting there. I didn’t expect to be able to see all that. Again, it was a shock. At first, everything is so shocking and you’re scared. But then when I saw it, I was like ‘It’s going to be okay.’ It’s things like that that make you realize it’ll be okay.
On her body: I think it’s something that you just know how to do. As your body changes and all these things happen, I think it becomes natural to know what to do. I will have to be strong and do what’s right. I’m sure it’ll get hard at times. I’m sure I’ll be grumpy. I have to remember in the end that I have to stand up and be strong.
I’m not showing, but some days I’m like: ‘Wow, I feel like I’m showing today,’ and Mom says: ‘No you’re not. Be quiet.’ It’s great to have her there. She is really supportive of me.

JAMIE LYNN SPEARS SAYS…
On believing she’ll be a good mom: I love babies, and I have my nephews that I love. I have a great mom and she has raised three kids, so if I take lessons from her, I think I’ll be great. All my friends have little brothers or sisters.
On the sex of the baby: I want to find out as soon as I can because I’m impatient. I just want a healthy, happy baby, so the whether it’s a boy or a girl really doesn’t matter.
On names: I haven’t thought about baby names yet. I would have to hear some options!
On morning sickness: I definitely had sickness, but it’s getting better. It was at its worst a few weeks ago.
On not having any cravings: I haven’t really got much of an appetite right now. I mean, I eat, but I’m not going crazy or anything.
On preparations such as the nursery: I haven’t even had time to think about that much yet as I have had so much going on. All you can be is excited now, so definitely, I will be excited.
On marriage and the living situation: Jamie Lynn wants to make clear that they do not live together — she lives with Lynne, while he lives with his parents.
Right now, we’re just focusing on the baby and having a healthy baby. We’re trying just to think about that right now so we haven’t really talked about that.
On Casey as a father: He has always been good with babies. He’s like a big teddy bear, especially around babies, so I know he’ll make a good dad.
On her hopes for 2008: Just to have a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy and for everything to fall in place and to become a stronger person from here.
MOMMA LYNNE SPEARS SAYS…
On finding out Jamie Lynn was pregnant: She came to me and said: ‘Mom, I have to tell you something. Here, it’s in a note.’ I was taken aback. I read the note, which of course said that she was pregnant, and ran into the living room. I said: ‘I don’t believe this. This is not funny!’ I looked at Casey, and he was staring straight ahead. She said: ‘Yes, Momma, it’s true.’
On if Jamie Lynn and Casey should get married: We’re not going there. We’re focusing on the baby. We’ve got so much to focus on right now.
On grandchildren: My grandsons are so adorable! Of course, another little boy would be precious, but a little girl would be precious too. It doesn’t matter so long as it’s healthy — that’s what’s important.
Her hopes for 2008: Health, peace, happiness and a real good healthy focus for life, for all [my children's] lives.

She isn’t the first 16 year old to have a baby so worry about something bigger and waste your time on that and leave Jaime Lynn alone.

I was shocked when I first heard this, I actually thought she was taking the pressure off her sister when the media was going around saying britney was pregnant. I can’t believe it but we have to remember she is a normal teenager, teenagers get pregnant and we should hold her to a higher standard then anyone else. She is in love and has been with her bf for over 3 years. She made a mistake like any other teenager does (ok this one is bigger then some) but she is human we have to remember that. I wish her the best with the pregnancy and hope she and casey can raise their child together and live a happy life

Oh, this country is messed up alright, but not for the reason you stated. It’s messed up because there are pregnant 16-year olds who have people STICKING UP FOR THEM! Since when is it normal to have a baby at 16 AND out of wedlock? How can anyone possibly stick up for this girl or any other pregnant teen?
She shouldn’t even be having sex at 16. But, OK, if she wants to have sex, whatever, that’s her choice. However, she could have had the common sense to use a condom or go on BC. Now she’s pregnant and she has affected so many people’s lives: Her own, her family’s, her boyfriend’s, his family’s, and not to mention all the girls who looked up to her (and who might start thinking that something like this is OK).
Being a teenaged mom is NOT okay and it is NOT normal. And it shouldn’t be supported. I can’t for the life of me understand how some of you can take up for Jamie. What makes it all worse is that this little WH*RE is putting herself on a magazine cover and talking about it like it’s something to be proud of. She should be ashamed of herself! And her parents….where were they?! How the h*ll are they raising their children?? And Lynne Spears is supposed to writing a parenting book??? GMAFB!
Jamie-Lynn says she’ll look to her mother for parenting advice; God help us all. Britney shaves her head, flashes her crotch, and doesn’t care for her babies; the other sister gets pregnant at 16; goodness knows what the brother is doing! If Lynne has a hand in raising this kid, then we can look forward to another screw-up in, oh…….15, 16 years?
I dont agree with her being a knocked up 16 year old. However, She is in the situtation and she has to deal with it. She is being as responsible as she can be. Jamie Lynn is not her sister and hopefully she will be a good mother to her child regardless of her age. Since Jamie Lynn and her mom decided to sell/tell their story to a magazine for public consumption it is ridiculous for people to think the public shouldn’t comment on it

it is wrong to get pregnant when you’re still a kid, but it happens. so get over it.
Either Jamie’s publicist or a sexually promiscuous 13 yr old is responsible for half the comments of support. Nobody with half a brain could condone a 16 year old getting pregnant and then shilling her story to the highest bidder.

if you condone all of the messages and images of sex out there, then you got to take the sexy, appealing, titilating ALONG WITH the shocking, corrupt breakdown of social norms.
personally, i think she’s too young and shouldn’t have been so irresponsible, but what exactly is the difference between being pregnant at 18 or 20 or even 22 and 16? It’s really a very short amount of time and I am highly suspicious of people who think that kids wake up magically transformed by some elixir when they turn 18 into mature, rational, levelheaded adults. i know it’s the law but it’s still arbitrary- everyone is different.
i don’t think it’s fair to act like JL should be cursing her child. sure, she’s young and naive but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know love for another human being let alone her own child.
it is fair to question her parents and JL’s judgement as far as safe sex goes.
there are a massive amount of negative images out there ready to influence kids and a fair amount of good ones too. maybe people should stop recognizing themselves as mindless sheep who get brainwashed and take that as a cue to smarten up about life.
Miley Cyrus has never been pregnant. It was some hacker who hacked into some site and acted like Miley, saying all those things.

Guys, just leave her alone. It wasn’t like it was on purpose. Lot’s of girls are pregnant at that age, and everyone is giving her a rough time just because she’s famous.

In response to your comment, we would all sympathize with Jamie Lynn if she simply announced her pregnancy and her plan to keep her baby.
Instead, Jamie Lynn has done a cover article in OK Magazine for 1 million dollars in which she is trying to spin this as an ultimately positive thing. That is why everyone is so appalled at her. By trying to make this a profitable venture she is setting a horrible example. I hope they bring STATUTORY RAPE charges against that guy.

It’s too bad Miley cyrus got pregnant too. I really liked her. I hope Disney does the right thing here. Now that Jamie-Lynn has come out I’m sure Miley’s feeling a alot better about her predicament and will tell the truth to the media. All her lawyers planted the “hacked web page” rumour in order to take the heat off of Miley. She is due in the spring .
