Gossip Girl Turned Reality TV Show
Casting call fliers for a “Gossip Girl reality TV series” are currently being handed out in Manhattan neighborhoods. Spies over at TV Guide spotted fliers being handed out on the Upper West Side.
Here’s what the casting flier says:
“Are you the real Gossip Girl? Maybe an adorable Seth Cohen (The O.C.) prepster who hates TV? Either way, we’d love to chat with you. We’re looking for NYC prep-schoolers for a reality show [to air on] a major youth-oriented network.”
MTV? The CW? Nickelodeon?
WHAT DO YOU THINK about a Gossip Girl reality tv series — HIT or FLOP?

well, the series isn’t even a hit … so this will definetly flop … and i think it has already been done, i mean; tommy hilfiger’s daughter had a mtv show called rich girls or something … set in NYC…

this reeks of MTV from a mile away. they did the same with “The OC”. i knew they would try it with “Gossip Girl” sooner or later.

HIT it will be a little different from the other reality show cuz the rest are all filmed in California. plus if MTV plays it then it will be good.

FLOP. The only people who would actually participate would be the non-Waldorf/van der Woodsen/Archibald types, because the actual old money families wouldn’t want their kids exposing their secrets. So we’ll get stuck with a bunch of posers who just happen to go to NYC private schools and are, let’s face it, either nouveau riche or no riche, and thus less scandalous and fun to watch.

flop for sure. I think the tv series is succesful and all, but teaching
kids who are going to watch this about a reality gossip girl, BIG MISTAKE. This will be taken too far and teach kids the wrong way
of how to socialize or make friends. At least with the series it is
fictional, but coming through with this, will change some of the viewers
minds or maybe even actions. Unfortunatley, i think people are willing
to watch anything these days, but it is a horrible idea.

hey, i’m not sure..i love the show but i don’t really like reality shows. but people were willing to watch “I love inflammatory diseases”..oh I mean “I love New York”, so you never know what the world is ready for!

I live on the UES and the idea of these people being nurtured or publicized more than they already are, makes me want to go to givenchy and puke on everyone.

wouldnt it be like laguna beach except here in NY with traffic skyscrapers and hotels…i mean i’d love to see drama within the New York socialites (without actually seeing them in bikinis with surfboards) but then again thats wat justjared is for….we have enough Paris Hiltons running around …maybe youger teenage high schools might be fun…i mean i dont think it wud be a flop at all…but tryna hit it head on with the actual show..i mean the show isnt as close with the book now adding actual teenage socialites….hmm maybe

I go to a school for which Gossip Girl was based on. There is most likely not going to be a reality series because the inter-city schools (the private schools in manhattan) won’t allow it. A bunch of schools were asked a few months ago if a reality series could be filmed and we turned them down. If this does happen it will be a flop because filming inside the schools where most of the”action” happens will not be allowed.
i think it’d air on BRAVO cuz they doing tht real house wifes of nyc soon so yeah
