I recently followed a link to Haydens trip to Japan.

I expected to see a lot of support for her efforts.
What I did not expect was all the negative remarks.
A third of comments directed directly against her efforts

Many of the comments revolved around her reply to a letter from Japanese Fishing Agency.

Hayden is an official spokesperson for The Whaleman Foundation ( founded in march 1995) and
the Save the Whales Again! Campaign.
She has been a member of the Foundation for the past 2 years.
The Whaleman Foundation works collectively with other likeminded organizations
including Surfers for Cetaceans and the Animal Welfare Institute,
Their efforts are supported by for example Greenpeace, WWF and others.
She did not pen the words herself. Her name was used as the official spokesperson.
The letter was composed by others who are very very very angry at the attitude of the Japanese. and what they see as their contempt for the whales, dolphins, and the people that support them.
The animal rights group PETA is sending her a Compassionate Citizen award for her incredible bravery and her dedication to helping animals in need.

There seams to have been criticism that she is not helping chickens and cows. For those that are concerned with this issue please accept that one person cannot support every cause. You must stand up and be counted your concern for their welfare cant stop on these pages. Act positively yourselves.

Publicity and attention seeking is another point many raised. She only did it for the Publicity and attention
YES ABSOLUTILY CORRECT. the letter and the protest in Japan achieved their goal they got you talking about the issue, as was eloquently put by Graham @ 12/08/2007 at 2:33 pm No125 !!!! I have just heard that because of world wide pressure Japan has said it will not now hunt the humpback whale. So publicity and pressure do work.

Some pointed out that it is part of japans culture and we should respect it. Because it is culture it does not make it right.

Okay, here is Shiloh. Now what. Thanks to Lady G. Lady you always bring good pictures and intersting articles. There were so many good articles posted on the last thread. Thanks to everyone who brought them. I will have to reverse my opinion of M. Huffington. Her interview with Brad was really good. PT, you are having too much fun today bashing the trolls. guli, our spirits will always be bright with your video posts.

For those who say Brad is not a good public speaker, remember the purpose is to deliver the message so that everyone will understand it. I remember William Buckley. I would watch his tv show. He was such a pedantic. He had this tremendous vocabulary which very few people could understand or relate to. Which meant he was not being understand. You needed a dictionary just to watch him. That is not being a good communicator. Ronald Reagan was considered the great communicator. I personally didn’t think he was. But, then he was not talking to me. And if you go back and listen to any of his speeches you will see that they were very simple in word usage and sentence structure. Bill Clinton, is another good communicator. Bill knows how to reach the common man. I use to write learning guides, and training manuals. We would take the technical specs for system enhancements and rewrite them for the people using the system. We were instructed to write on a fourth or fifth grade level. No polysyllabic words or abstract refercences were used. Brad speaks very well for a person who is not accustomed to public speaking. I like his word usage. But more importantly I love his passion, and his knowledge of his project. Peace

I am guessing you were an only child. I love by brothers and sister now but when we were younger they got on my nerves. I could tell you stories about long car rides to my grandparents. Hell I bet the majority of people before the invention of the mini van and dvd could tell you.

Um, what’s with the hostility? I was just simply stating an opinion. Did I really say something offensive? Seriously Brad and Angelina won’t know or care what I have to say about anybody’s hairstyle. Actually they won’t know or care what any of us here have to say about how they live their life. We are just bunch of anonymous people on a picture thread commenting and speculating on people we don’t even know. It’s just harmless fun, at least for me. Why are some fans so serious and defensive about everything?

Good post Sara. I find it difficult to dialogue on here because of the hostility to a simple opinion or sometimes a question. Like I would love to know if Brad is vegetarian - I heard that the other day. Anyone know if it is true? Hopefully, I will get a straight answer and not a bunch of silliness.

IMOH, in picture #1 Shiloh looks line Angie. But in pictures #2 & #3 she looks like Brad. She definitely has Brads eyes, eyebrows and frown. All of the children have grown so much. Z’s legs have gotten so long. Shiloh looks as though she has gottern taller also. All of the children are cute. But the girls are really preatty. Braddaddy will have his hands full fighting off suitors. Peace :smile:

Uh, no offense Lylian, BUT, you don’t know what you’re talking about. This is a bad example if you’re trying to prove a point about black hair. That woman’s hair IS combed. It actually takes quite a bit of time to get those spiral curls. Okra was wearing a very similar style for much of the year. I’ve tried it myself and quite frankly I’ve got better things to do with my time than spend an hour and a half doing my hair every day.

They were there to help The Children’s Health Fund focus attention on the more than 46-thousand children still displaced two and a-half years after hurricanes Katrina and Rita destroyed their homes.

Jolie says her work as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees prompted her to get involved with the effort in New Orleans.

The Children’s Health Fund issued a report earlier this month that said 46- to 64-thousand children affected by the hurricanes are still at risk for a host of medical, mental health and educational problems complicated by a lack of support services.

Jolie says that in her travels she has seen many children who feel defeated.

The difference in New Orleans, she says, is that the children “are feisty, fun and full of pride.”

Jolie says “it’s that kind of spirit that will help everyone get through this.”

Pitt and Jolie have made New Orleans their home since the hurricanes and have been working to help the area recover.

So predictable ! If Shiloh is seen , it’s photo-op. If Shi is not seen, they favor the adopted color kids than the bio, white, blonde, blue eye, pure Aryan race baby. They are just a normal family enjoying their time with their kids, we didn’t see much of them in LA, because the kids probably pley in their large compound.

I lived in Peru, Nicaragua and Bolivia and worked for charities, and let me tell you, it’s pretty common. That’s why investing in education is the best. Don’t give “free” things to people, let them work for it. That’s a common problem when you help the poor and don’t teach them to earn it themselves. They think all the have to do is request and out of the blue someone HAS to help them, they get used to.

Give them a tool to work.
