And thank God not a dime of it came from me. The book was absolutely dreadful and from what I’ve heard, the movie wasn’t much better. Dan Brown is a lousy writer and the book wasn’t even original. It was all said before, and much better, in Jose Saramago’s “The Gospel According to Jesus Christ” and Umberto Eco’s book “Foucault’s Pendulum”.

If Brad was in The Da Vinci Code you would be calling it the greatest movie ever.

Okay PT…calm the #$@@ down. Denzel may not be building homes in NOLA, but he is making sure HBCU’s are being funded. Education is also a topic we should be discussing in the upcoming election. DW just donated 1M to Wiley College (I believe that’s the college w/ reference to his movie Great Debaters) towards their debate team and to get it back up and running.

Actually we need any and all who are financially able to assist in the USA any way they can. Of course it’s needed in NOLA, but it’s also needed in Chi town, Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles, NYC, Maryland and the list can go on and on. The major issues our government seems to be missing the link are Healthcare, Education, Employment, Housing, and Law Enforcement. Brad even spoke of this during his LK interview or maybe it was CR.

And I for one am glad that BP/AJ are visibly doing something in our country. I know they donate on the down low with certain stuff, but to come out publicly like this is just WONDERFUL. I applaud them and anyone else financially able.

Brad Pitt wouldn’t touch a script like The DaVinci Code with a telephone pole. Leave that to your fugly idol, scrounging on her knees for whatever she can get. Two years unemployed and the best she can do is a bit part in a rom-com? Not a good sign.

Perhaps I don’t choose to dwell on the negative like you enjoy doing, but Brad’s had his share of bad films like any other actor. I watched Kalifornia on TV and couldn’t sit through it.

Can anyone fill me in on how this housing thing will work. If people are adopting houses or donating money towards the building of houses — are they going to give them away to the poor? I don’t think so because I have heard about selling them. So how is this going to work if the houses are already paid for - anyone know what the plan is?

They’re not giving the homes away. The money they raise is for gap-financing. Brad has said that people will contribute any insurance or government money they have or will receive, but for most people it still leaves a gap of about $75K. And that’s what they’re trying to fund.

For people who’ve donated materials, the materials purchased will be used in the houses they build. I’m not exactly sure how that fits into the financing schema though.
