OlderBrad Pitt Kicks It With John Norris
Brad Pitt films another interview with MTV VJ John Norris (pink Chucks) for MTV News in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday.
Undoubtedly, the activist actor talked up his “Make It Right” project, which aims to continue to help the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans.
“It’s been fantastic,” Brad has said about America’s overwhelmingly response to chip in. “We’ve had 12,000 people across America come in and donate. We’ve had people like Will Ferrell come in and adopt a house. Our initial goal was 150 houses, and we’ve got 52 houses that have been adopted, which means 52 families.”
He added, “It’s working. It’s really working. It’s that thing we talked about of people coming together and people helping people, and that’s where America’s great.”
But it’s not over yet! There’s still time to donate at MakeItRightNOLA.org.
“We got two more weeks to go,” Pitt said. “I need people out there to come in and adopt the other 100 homes. And hopefully by that time we’ll see this whole neighborhood symbolically put back together.”

Brad really does walk the walk, doesn’t he? All he had to do was take some photos and do some interviews for this project like numerous other charity conscious celebrities, but instead he chose to spend countless time and effort into this project. He NEVER does this much interviews for his own movies, EVER, yet, he is so generous with his time and energy in this project. I hope this will finally shut America ONLY crowds who condemn Jolie-Pitt for only helping other “nations”.
I cannot believe some folks still have hate in their hearts for this couple. Why? What are they doing that is so horrible that they spew out such hatred toward them and their adopted children (NOt Shiloh, the “Chosen ONe”.)?
I think some people hope to take way from the work that Brad and Angelina do by running to the thread to try to distract. Personally, I think people who do this are very selfish people because the focus of the thread is to attract help for the people of New Orleans.
With that said, Brad is very intelligent , thoughtful and very knowlegeable too. I hope more people, even corporations join in adopting houses. Peace.

anonymous - Not everyone is invested in celebrity gossip and the stars private life. A small fraction of people immerse themselves in this juice hence the never ending presence on blogs. How Brad/Angie conduct their lives doesn’t affect my life in anyway, our projections about them only highlight issues about us not them. We are outside looking on how possibly can you know one’s life from pictures and magazines. All the couples who broke up at the time have all moved on to different partners, Jen herself has dated two men since. People can’t seem to get past this because of the perception and image projected by the media. The media has made and continues to make money off of this triangle and now more from this partnership. The media has no clue what happened or what’s happening as seen by week after week Brad/Angie are fighting or moved out or some wack story because a story that puts a celeb in a bad light sells more than a good story. My hubby who couldn’t be bothered by all this if it wasn’t for his wife says it best when he says “Man Brad/Angie must be having the best make-up sex if everytime they are breaking up”

Helena, # 35 — why don’t you TRY sourcing your articles. That way we will know, what studio planted a Christmas day slam of Brad’s TAOJJ. How many films starring major stars from Depp to Roberts to almost every other major film star in the world, has not been a blockbuster? This isn’t anything new. Not every mega star wants to make a ‘Best Friends Wedding,’ an ‘Enchanted,’ or a ‘Mission Impossible,’ thank GOD there are some people with some integrity somewhere otherwise, we’d only get ‘I am Legend,’ ‘Wedding Crasher’ movies….it’s like being force fed big Macs from McDonalds.

When critics started to complain that they weren’t given adequate time to preview the movie WB came up with some B/S explanation saying it was a lie and they were gonna release the movie wide… The movie never made it to more 301 theaters, the movie didn’t even open up to more than 2 theaters in JJ’s home state… Some one mentioned that it only opened in 10 theaters in the UK, so how much money was this movie supposed to make. It wasn’t given a chance….

Helena meet QQQQ. Bravo Bravo!!!! THANK YOU. Where’s the in-depth X-mas article on why studios deliberately f**k-over their own product? I’ll tell you where it is…it won’t be found. Actors aren’t paying flacks behind the scenes at Variety or in other publications to LEAN on the heavyweight stars and try to convince them not to ask for to much up front and on the back end. Studios are greedy. In the wake of Will Smith’s film — which actually makes them real nervous as it puts more $$ into hands of the superstars on the back and front end - they want to get the message out - if you’re making these kinds of films, we want the other kind of crap that the sheeple will bring their neighborhoods too…Brad Pitt in Transformers 11, or Ocean’s 27.

Listen, Brad and Angelina are making $, headlines, movies, babies, giving back by donating to and working for others, and receiving awards.
To top it all off, they are good looking, having a loved up Christmas in the French Quarter and obviously enjoy a robust family life.
This is all good, but unfortunately human nature is such that it drives some to want to find fault and look for the flaw or the down side.
Some are nitpicky observations, others like to do the movie numbers game, and others are just plain funny (”they don’t look happy…”Something’s wrong”) lol.
Bottom line - it’s easy to be happy for others of you’re happy with yourself.
While Brad certainly doesn’t have much experience giving this type of interview, I think he has done a fantastic job of it.
It’s not easy speaking publicly, especially when it’s for something as important and close to the heart as MIR. Promoting movies is one thing, encouraging America to donate homes to people that some feel either shouldn’t be rebuilt or not for “those” people (as evidenced by at least one idiot here) is an entirely different matter. Any misstep and it could all go wrong. That’s immense pressure.
But it’s also exciting. And Brad’s excitement and passion is so very evident in each of his interviews. And that’s part of what sell this campaign. He may not be the most articulate, or have the most extensive vocabulary but in all honesty, I’m not sure that’s a true assessment because he also seems nervous/excited. Unlike a film, these interviews are unscripted for the most part. This is unchartered territory for him. That happens to me when I go on job interviews and make speeches - I get nervous, start speaking way too fast and don’t enunciate properly. I am only able to deal with it because I practice and got some experience. Also, I’ve been teaching for a while so now I am used to speaking in front of a tough crowd but trust me there are days when words get flubbed, sentences get completely twisted and you say “ok, let’s start that again.”.
Anyway, I’m glad for Brad’s work and how he’s showing his other interests.
I want to add also that everything Brad and Angie say is scrutinized and analysed. They have to think of what they put out their more than others. Angie will say something and people will repeat it for ages while others say the same and no one cares. I like them to think through what they say, there is nothing wrong with them. They are good people and they are intelligent and hardworking. Kudos to Brad and Angie. Keep up the good works.
Jolie: I discovered a man who’s extremely thoughtful, intelligent and invested in many issues. He’s just more quiet in his way. I think that’s the reason I love him. If I’m curious about something, I put my boots on and I’ll go tomorrow. I’ve been too outspoken. He’s the person who methodically figures out what he believes in and how he’s going to handle something, then does it seamlessly.

Angie knows Brad better than any of us. I love this quote from Angie in Reader Digest. It is so true for Brad Pitt, just look at what he has done for NOLA. seamlessly.
He doesn’t interview for his movies because then the ‘cat would be out of the bag’ . Besides, he’s already been paid and is probably in contract not to . He has to sell MIR because he’s trying to raise funds. It’s necessary since it’s his c reation.
Who are the fools obsessed with BO numbers for Brad and Angie movies? If you feel that “I am Legend” is a hit then look for htat thread in the archives and go chime in on the results.
Am proud of Bra and Angie and will watch each and every movies they star in no matter what the subject matter. If you are not a fan then you have no business offering your unsolicited foul opinion. Their successes and failures are not yours to worry about. Am sure you have other issues of concern like your lunch money for example….

Warners did not promote the movie from the start. So most of their comments are bs. However I do agree with the quote above. People these days don’t want to think too much. Look at the top hits. No real thinking is required. Seen the story before. Understand how it will end. Even American Gangster did not need any thought. Seen one seen them all.
This is why I thought it was strange that Tom Cruise was doing a Nazi movie right after this last movie. He along with Brad did to do an action movie. As I think Brad needs to do soon. Maybe he will think about doing a remake of Bullit. Actually Angelina has done quite a good mix recently. AMH (serious) Beowulf, Wanted, (Fun) and then The Changling (serious)

So, there is a backlash against their movies. The publics’ backlash has reached the studio offices. If the public has turned against them, the studio is not, not, not, going to spend money on them.
Over time this may change, if the publics’ opinion of them changes. People are still angry at them for lying.

See, Sambo, the whole deal went down 3 years ago. Aniston lost her man to a better woman because she wasn’t woman enough to keep him. Most people have accepted that and moved on. Has anyone ever noticed that Jennifer Aniston is not big into philanthropy? I have only ever seen her commercial for St Jude’s Hospital and that she made some donations on behalf of Sheryl Crow when she was undergoing breast cancer treatment. Doesn’t this worldly philanthropy explain the Brangelina connection? What IS JA doing with her millions? Treating her friends to trips to Mexico and lots of margaritas?
Janice #10; I totally agree with you, Brad doesn’t seem to me to be that bright. He doesn’t seem to have a handle on what the real problems are in Louisiana and the real issues. He really isn’t a good articulator. He mumbles alot of his words and his thoughts do not always seem that fluid. I don’t really think he is making a real difference in Louisiana but it looks good for publicity’s sake. If he does not have the clout to move the government into changing what is going on in New Orleans, a house here or there “ain’t” going to make a difference. Hundreds of people were protesting yesterday so that the lower ninth ward would not be demolished, women were being tasar because they were trying to get into a council meeting buy were not permitted inside…where was brad, talking to the Larry King’s for publicity.
