Sounds like a great movie, I am sure Angie will get high praises for it. From what I read there are some intense scenes, moments, specially when she was thrown into an institution and when she had to confront the man who killed her son.

LONDON (Reuters) - From tattooed wild woman to humanitarian heroine — what a difference a few years has made for Angelina Jolie, who topped a Reuters poll released on Thursday of the best celebrity humanitarians of 2007.

Hollywood star Jolie commanded the greatest public respect of all celebrity public do-gooders this year due to her work as a U.N. goodwill ambassador and as the adoptive mother tried to raise awareness of suffering in Africa.

But the poll by humanitarian Web site Reuters AlertNet (www.alertnet.org) found not all do-gooders fared so well, with fellow adoptive mother Madonna voted the least respected celebrity altruist of 2007 despite raising millions for orphans in Malawi, and Bob Geldof struggling for support.

Madonna’s image was hit by claims she used her fame and wealth to circumvent Malawian adoption rules.

“People aren’t stupid,” said Peter Walker, director of the Feinstein International Famine Center at Tufts University.

“They can really sense when it’s just an endorsement and when somebody really means it. Someone like Angelina Jolie comes across as having more integrity than some celebrities and a greater sense that she doesn’t just do this for the publicity.”

The online poll of 606 people conducted from December 7 to 19 put 32-year-old Jolie ahead of U2 singer Bono, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Microsoft founder Bill Gates — all of whom have helped put African suffering on the global agenda.

The result underlined how far Jolie has changed her image since shocking onlookers by French kissing her brother at an awards ceremony about seven years ago and from wearing a vial of second husband Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around her neck. Continued…

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have welcomed a baby girl, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, a rep for the couple confirmed Saturday in a statement to PEOPLE.

“Angie and baby are fantastic,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE on Sunday. “Brad was at her side during the birth.”

The child was born Saturday, May 27, at night, in the African country of Namibia.

Shiloh – which in one longstanding translation from the Bible has come to mean “the peaceful one” – was born in The Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund.

Jolie is expected to remain in the hospital for a couple days before returning to the couple’s sea-side Namibian retreat.

Meanwhile, Namibia’s Environment and Tourism Deputy Minister, Leon Jooste, explained: “Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt will, according to Namibian law, be allowed to obtain Namibian citizenship, if the parents should choose to do so.” He added that discussion of the child’s passport will be taken up with her parents “at a later stage.”

Back in the U.S., the manager for Jolie’s estranged father, Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, 67, told New York’s Daily News that Voight is “really excited for them both. He can’t wait to hold the baby in his arms and be grandpa.”

The new parents, along with kids Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1, have been staying at the luxury resort in Namibia since April, where their personal security team and Namibian police have shielded them from paparazzi.

Last week, the Namibian government said foreign journalists wishing to cover the birth must have written permission from Pitt and Jolie to enter the country and obtain a work permit.

The new girl is the couple’s first biological child. Jolie adopted Maddox from Cambodia in 2002 and Zahara from Ethiopia last year. Pitt is in the process of legally adopting both children.

The baby is the latest step in a life-changing year during which Pitt and Jolie went from costars (in last summer’s slick crime thriller Mr. and Mrs. Smith) to supercouple to, finally, Mommy and Daddy.

“It’s the idea that you love one another and you want to create a family together,” a friend of the couple’s told PEOPLE earlier this year. “What’s beautiful is you can do it by birth (or) by adoption.”

Word that Angelina was pregnant first broke on Jan. 11, when representatives of both stars confirmed the baby news to PEOPLE after the actress and U.N. goodwill ambassador had confided to a charity aid worker in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: “Yes, I’m pregnant.”

The pregnancy news – which came shortly after Pitt’s announcement that he planned to adopt Maddox and Zahara – might have been a media bombshell, but it was a natural progression for the pair who put nest-building on the fast track.

Jolie, 30, had long spoken about expanding her family, and told PEOPLE last October that she would like to adopt again. “There’s something about making a choice, waking up and traveling somewhere and finding your family,” she said.

Pitt, 42, has also often talked about wanting a family. He has no children from his 4-year marriage to Jennifer Aniston, which ended last year.

“I think he’ll be wonderful (with the new baby),” Pitt’s Assassination of Jesse James costar, Mary-Louise Parker, told PEOPLE earlier this year. “He’s a great guy, conscientious and kind. I’m happy for both of them.”

i don’t know what #35 anonymous posted because it has been deleted, but i just ran across a similar old interview that popbytes has on it’s blog today and is trying to pass it off as new. it’s angie explaining how she approaches doing a sex scene. and the idiots who post there are like rabid dogs. at he smell or sight of anything angie, they start frothing at the mouths. if they had just taken some time and read the interview they would have realised that it was done about 3 years ago. i just posted and ripped them a new one . this is becoming surreal. when is this going to end? i know angie does not pay them any attention, but as her fan, it really pains me to see that the open season on her seems to be never-ending.

I am hoping they will premiere this movie at the Toronto Film Festival. I will surely be there once more. We have to wait & see.

I’m just catching up and saw the thread over at Pretzel’s site about the e-mail that woman sent. I would never want someone like that looking after my grandparents - that woman is stupid AND hateful. I highly doubt that a woman like that is contributing to an ‘atmosphere of caring and respect’ that her employer is trying to provide.

What I find most insulting about the post from the anonymous JP fan, that has been copied to this thread, is the assumption that we ALL write hateful comments/e-mails here and elsewhere. Well, guess what? YOU’RE WRONG! I can only speak for myself in saying that I don’t write anything that I would be embarassed to own up to in public under my real name. It’s naive to assume that the internet automatically grants you anonymity, as we have all witnessed. Anyone writing hateful and homophobic rhetoric from their place of employment deserves to be fired, and anyone who would be embarassed to have their comments exposed publicly should perhaps reconsider what they are saying from behind their computer screen. Sadly the internet has brought out a rather ugly side of humanity.

And yes, let me add that the homophobic bent to that e-mial is particularly vile, but to me ithe entire thing was so full of hate that I didn’t differentiate between any of the idiocy. It was all just assine as a whole…as all blind hate usually is.

I was just watching TMZ tv tonight and they showed a photo of the JP’s going to the Waterhorse movie. They said the reason Shiloh was left at home was because the movie was too scary. They showed some footage of the movie..a scene where the monster rises out of the water..but the monster had Aniston’s face. LOL. Mean but funny.

I was just over at JJB, reading and lurking as usual, and someone there is insisting that Brad was carrying Angie’s purse in one of those pix from their movie-theatre trip with the kids.

While that would be cute etc., it just isnt true. First of all, Angie doesnt carrying around such a tiny bag as part of her daywear. And secondly, a woman with kids simply doesnt carry around a tiny little tote like that when she’s out with the kids…….too many things to pop into your bag for the kids.

Have these people not seen Angie with her big, white Valentino (of which Z has a tiny replica) or her big black bag? Moreover, in the said pix, you can clearly see Angie’s big black bag over her shoulder.

It bothers me when untruths, no matter how harmless, are perpetuated by fans. Leave that to the nasty tabrags.

Seriously…I HOWLED with laughter. Like usual THE NE COVER IS A COMPLETE HOAX. The cover proclaims X is knocked up and here are the 3 likely culprits. HOWEVER…the very first thing in the article is X excitedly telling her “friends” (read the Coquettes or the Goddess Circle, your choice) that she’s “GOING to have a baby!”

Only here’s the deal - SHE IS NOT CURRENTLY PREGGERS…JUST THINKING ABOUT GETTING PREGGERS! I effin’ kid you not. That’s the gist of the entire article. Here are the lowlights -

- X is staring at the big 3-9 in February and wants a kid before she turns the even bigger 4-0. She got plenty of dough…she thinks the time is right, blah, blah, blah…

- Because Cinderella apparently wants her uter#s back when X turns 4-0, X has to have a baby by then or she’ll be shattered.

- To that end, X is weighing her baby opions: Adoption ain’t for her, sp#rm donors is impersonal…so she’s gonna do it the old-fashioned way…BUT…

- What unlucky dumb fcuker can she get to scr#w her without him using 6 cond#ms, 2 sp#rmicides and making her pledge on a bible that she’s on birth control?

- Well, Let the NE fill in that blank for ya….

a. Vince Vaughn - her maybe gaybe, on again/off again fake romance for the last 2 years

b. Paul Sculfor - her maybe gaybe but definitely for hire to the highest bidder summer stud-muffin and Dumbwater sales assistant

c. Jason Lewis - Who, according to sister pub the Star, is currently shacking up with X on the QT and took X to meet his ‘rents over the X-mas holidays. (Yep, that’s right…The same Jason Lewis who just last year proclaimed Angelina Jolie as his dream woman. Jason subscribes to the theory that all current romantic roads to Angelina Jolie lead through X’s abode, therefore, he’ll close his eyes and make do until Angie realizes that X’s new man is better than her old man. However, Mr. Lewis DOES have a contingency plan. Should Angelina not take notice of this within a sufficient amount of time to prevent him from having to make a long-term commitment to X, Mr. Lewis is prepared to give up his dream woman AND RUN as fast and as far from X as he can. What, pray tell is a “sufficient amount of time”? About a month. Mr. Lewis figures it’ll take Ms. Jolie about 29 days to remember Brad has an ex-wife.)

d. Brad Pitt - Yeah, Brad thought he was in the clear on this one, but as it turns out…according to the NE if Brad and Angie break up, X would probably be willing to take him back and they can FINALLY have that kid that X was too busy with her career to give him when they were married. Apparently no one at the NE watched Charlie Rose where Brad obliquely implied - actually he pretty much said it outright - that he knew he’d have kids “WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT…AND OBVIOUSLY I THINK NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME”…and NOT when he was with X. Owwwwiieee….

- Now that X has her possible sp#rm donors lined up, all she has to do is decide which lucky guy will get to see his genes merged with hers for the rather scary prospect of the following progeny:

a. Vince Vaughn - X is concerned that with VV’s, er, shall we say…tendency toward corpulence, that her child will be both homely AND pudgy.

b. Paul Sculfor - With PMBP’s good looks X’s only concern is…HER lack of good looks. After all…you can’t give newborns rhinoplasty.

c. Jason Lewis - Once again, HIS good looks are not the issue. BUT…X is thrilled that HIS blue eyes are real. She was rather dreading having to fit her wee one with widdle tiny bwue contact wenses. Can’t have that Greek heritage showing through, now can we?

d. Brad Pitt - Really…what more can be said about Brad Pitt’s looks. But…let’s combine his features with X’s:

= Brad: chiseled jaw, but oversized nostrils…and frankly he’s had his ears pinned since he first arrived in L.A., full lower lip, beautiful baby blue eyes

= Brad + X: Now, let’s examine what the resulting child would look like - nah…just kidding…there are some jokes even I find “HIGHLY disgusting”…and truthfully…I haven’t been sleeping too well at night and I really don’t need to add wakemares to my insomnia problem…

- NE goes on to say that X is currently thinking hard about her 4 sp#rm dono choices and will be making a decision soon because Cinderella wants her uter#s back AND she wants her kid to be able to play with and grow up with the slightly older children of her bestest pals, including Courteney & Sheryl Crow. I don’t really have a joke for this section…but I found it rather curious that for someone who supposedly has so damned many friends…how come the tabs only ever mention these two? Just saying…

- For all of you guys who were afraid that X would be raising an only child…fear not! That’s right…X wants TWO kids, but no more than that. She says leave the child herding to Brad & Angie. You know…that seems fair, cuz there are TWO OF THEM…and she IS gonna have to be a single mother. Cuz really…even $110MIL isn’t enough dough to make a man put up with a neurotic, whiney, self-involved, too small bikini wearing, twat waxing obsessed, famewh#re with delusional tendencies involving the word “Oscar” but not “Mayer” and “Weiners”.

LONDON (Reuters) - From tattooed wild woman to humanitarian heroine — what a difference a few years has made for Angelina Jolie, who topped a Reuters poll released on Thursday of the best celebrity humanitarians of 2007.

Hollywood star Jolie commanded the greatest public respect of all celebrity public do-gooders this year due to her work as a U.N. goodwill ambassador and as the adoptive mother tried to raise awareness of suffering in Africa.

But the poll by humanitarian Web site Reuters AlertNet (http://www.alertnet.org) found not all do-gooders fared so well, with fellow adoptive mother Madonna voted the least respected celebrity altruist of 2007 despite raising millions for orphans in Malawi, and Bob Geldof struggling for support.

Madonna’s image was hit by claims she used her fame and wealth to circumvent Malawian adoption rules.

“People aren’t stupid,” said Peter Walker, director of the Feinstein International Famine Center at Tufts University.

“They can really sense when it’s just an endorsement and when somebody really means it. Someone like Angelina Jolie comes across as having more integrity than some celebrities and a greater sense that she doesn’t just do this for the publicity.”

The online poll of 606 people conducted from December 7 to 19 put 32-year-old Jolie ahead of U2 singer Bono, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Microsoft founder Bill Gates — all of whom have helped put African suffering on the global agenda.

The result underlined how far Jolie has changed her image since shocking onlookers by French kissing her brother at an awards ceremony about seven years ago and from wearing a vial of second husband Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around her neck.

HUMANITARIAN HOBBY?

Since becoming an ambassador in 2001 for the U.N. refugee agency UNHCR, she has visited more than 20 humanitarian hot spots, most recently Iraq.

“She does this in a very low-key way,” said UNHCR spokesman Peter Kessler. “She goes out to see for herself, to get up close and very personal. She doesn’t travel with film crews, and I think that is real testimony to her dedication to the cause.”

Jolie has three adopted children — from Ethiopia, Cambodia and Vietnam, and last year gave birth to a daughter, Shiloh, with her actor partner Brad Pitt.

But she has sparked little of the controversy that has dogged Madonna, who adopted a toddler from Malawi in 2006.

“Madonna seems to do philanthropy the way she’s done Indian culture, sex, and just about everything — like a disposable fad,” said one anonymous voter. “Hope she doesn’t get bored of her adopted African kid.”

John McKie, who recruits celebrities for British relief agency Christian Aid, was less critical of Madonna.

“She has played Live8 and she’s got her own charity in Malawi,” he said. “Many celebrities don’t engage in Africa on any level, so we shouldn’t be too hard on Madonna.”

After Madonna, U.S. socialite Paris Hilton gave the worst name to celebrity humanitarianism in 2007, the poll found, after announcing she planned to swap partying for philanthropy with a trip to Rwanda. The trip was later postponed.

Famous figures who scored highly for their humanitarian work included former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, Jordan’s Queen Rania and former U.N. secretary-general Kofi Annan.

Actors Mia Farrow, Don Cheadle and Brad Pitt won praise for their advocacy on behalf of Sudan’s war-torn Darfur region.

Bono showed he has both admirers and detractors, ranking second after Jolie in the “most respected” category but also attracting enough negative votes to put him in the top five celebrity do-gooders people love to hate — with Bob Geldof.

“This guy probably believes he’s the new Messiah,” said one anonymous voter.

So false. Sean and Robin had been rocky for their entire relationship. They broke up after having the first kid, Sean was with Jewel, then they got back together and had their second kid, then got married a year or so after that.

Sean is not the easiest person to live with. Several years ago they all moved to San Fran to try to make it as a family outside HTown, Robin worked very little, but Sean has been running all over the place alone without her for years. It did not help when this year Sean went running to see Eve in jail in LA when she was arrested for drunk driving. Allegedly Sean has been chasing women in San Fran and everywhere else for years and Robin probably just got tired of his behavior just like Madonna did.

I doubt they will stay apart even if they divorce. Their history has been that they are a couple that can’t live with or without each other.

People in HTown have the same desires and yearnings and life difficulties that people everywhere else have. They do have more money at their disposal, and a life that at times verges on the unreal due to the whole character of the movie/tv business. They all want to love and be loved by someone they can trust. The truly significant way people in HTown differ from most is that they have big trust issues, the question is does someone love them for themselves or for their alternate professional personnas?

This does not appear to be an issue for Angelina and Brad. They know the score, they are equals, they really appear to trust and love each other, warts and all. And if at the end of the day you have that with someone else you have found your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and you will do all you can to hold on to it.

Well many celebrities do (and noncelebs also). It is a time of the year when people are not as focused on celebs as much as they are focused on their own celebrations and splits can be sort of undercover . Also you can end a relationship that is not working as the year ends, start anew in the new year, sort of like a new years resolution. And some do it for income tax purposes.

If dishing out the nasty makes your day and helps you get through it, then good luck to you tita. If you have kids, I hope they haven’t inherited your nasty streak.

hmmm, you know, I think you are right about the Changeling being an BO flop. I for one, will probably not pay 10 bucks to cry all night in the cinema and come out of it feeling totally exhausted and emotionally wrung out.

However, for the movie studios, the actors and actresses - this is an opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood for critical, artistic acclaim. The serious theme of the movie, and the fact that the release date has already been moved back to November - prime time for release of oscar worthy movies, well, the studios are already positioning the movie for the oscars already.

I’m sure there are many many actresses in hollywood of lesser talent who shall remain nameless and barely remembered, who would LOVE the chance to work on a movie which screams OSCAR opportunity.

sorry to burst your holy book,but Brad nor Angelina don’t have any past memories of being cheater.

while BBT was cheating her with some young girl and actually left her and Maddie for so many time,Angie didn’t cheat on him.and while Brad was away from that fraud woman for six months,there wasn’t any real news about him being a cheater.

so I don’t think while they didn’t cheat on people who didn’t respect them and people whom they just shared marriage with,nothing more,it can show they probably won’t cheat on each other beacause at least it seems they respect each other and share many things in common.peace

You know what else is stupid about that woman’s e-mail? She apparently reads his site a lot…didn’t she see when he did the exact same thing to Steven Huvane? AND the Splash and x17Online cease & desist orders?

Clint Eastwood trusted her for the role and I’m sure he wouldn’t be disappointed. We still have to wait for about 11 months to see this movie. I’m so excited.

Not to sound like a troll, but Clint didn’t choose Angie for this role. Brian Grazer & Ron Howard did. Angie’s name was actually already attached to this project when Brian Grazer as Clint to take over as director. Clint even said in an interview that “apparently a lot of actresses tried to get this role,” so he didn’t have a clue aboutt he casting. He’s old…but I doubt if he’d forget casting Angie personally.

IIRC the movie was originally slated to have Ron Howard direct, but then Tom Hanks had script issues with the Da Vinci sequel and he had to drop out and concentrate on getting that project back on track. But, the studio decided they wanted to fast-track TC because they thought it was a fantastic script. Brian Grazer took over as producer and got Angie, then Clint.

This is going to be a very good movie. The storyline seems heartbreaking but we all know that Angelina will deliver a knockout performance. Can’t wait to see it.

Thank you for that comments. You’re comments really nailed it. Some of this so-called “entertainment writers” lost their credivility because of too much lies. In my opinion I think they want to shock or entertain the readers as well as themselves, so they don’t care if they twisted their story.

Variety is the spice of life. Watch even the BO king these days Will Smith will try and do a meaningful film soon.

#276: Money that goes to foundations don’t get spent all at once. Are you crazy? Foundations are ran like a business. You want to make sure your money is able to cover your expenditures for an extended period of time. Why give a million if the agency being ran needs only half a mil? They give grants. An agency requests what they need for the year or for necessities and the foundation people approves and hands out the check.

Foundation money does not go to the JP’s pockets if that’s what you’re trying to get at. They can’t spend it on personal stuff. It is a separate entity with its own accounting books and it would have to account for all the money it has collected and disbursed to the IRS just like any other charitable organization or business enterprise.
