I didn’t want to bring this up, but I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time and wanted to add my 2 cents.
IMO Wentworth Miller is NOT gay. I’m not saying this because I want him to be straight. I don’t care either way, it’s just my opinion.
Wentworth would not and could not continually lie about this. He’s a man with principles. Even if he signed a contract stating he was not able to talk about his being homosexual, first off I don’t think he would sign such a contract and secondly, even if he did, I don’t think he could blatently lie and then live with himself.
Went knew that Prison Break was special and that people would be intrigued. He has said this before. So let’s not use the excuse that he didn’t know his popularity would sky rocket. He was hoping for this recognition and notoreity. What actor wouldn’t?
Yes, Went may sound a little “gayish” in his role as David Scott, the nerdy, bookish teenager in “Dinotopia”, but a year later he was filming “The Human Stain” as the young boxer, Coleman Silk. In no way did he sound like David, or act like him. This is called “acting”. This goes to show the range Went can go with his characters. He played a “gay hairdresser” in “Times of Your Life” and was very convincing in that role as well. He played a “gay” or “metrosexual” male cheerleader in “Popular”. These roles don’t make him GAY!
Went has not changed his voice to sound more “straight”. He never went to speech classes to get rid of his Brooklyn accent and gay voice. He never had a Brooklyn accent because his parents, being the educators they were, would not allow him to develop one. And then Princeton really wiped out any trace of an accent. If Went sounds gay in certain straight roles, it’s because he’s trying to portray a young guy. If you hear his voice now in interviews, it’s the same as Michael Scofield, the soldier in “The Ghost Whisperer” or the devil in “Joan of Arcadia” all men in their 30’s.
Went is a private guy. He’s quiet, a bit shy and reserved and a bit of a loner. He was brought up in a very well educated, reserved, quiet home. That’s the way he prefers to live his private life. He’s a down to earth type guy who doesn’t need fancy cars, mansions, expensive vacations. He doesn’t want to drastically change his life because of stardom. He prefers interesting roles over leading man blockbusters. He needs acting like he needs to breathe, therefore he just loves the art of acting, not necessarily the over the top life of a “star”.
He has said that he wouldn’t take a role if he played a white guy bashing black people. He’s proud of his mixed race, so why wouldn’t he be proud to be gay? Seeing the confident man he is, I think he would be out and proud if he was gay. He’s a smart man. He knows he would still get great roles. There are plenty of gay men acting in all sorts of venues whether it be film, TV or stage. He would not hide such a huge part of who he is. That’s not the man we know him to be. He has said numerous times now that he wants a wife and kids. I’ve even heard him say it on video, so I know this line was not made up. And I don’t think he would repeatedly say it if it weren’t true.
IMO, people just assume he’s gay because he’s not seen with a different blond bimbo every night, falling drunk out of the bars. Though he has been seen on a couple of dates all around L.A. Yet people want to think he’s dating a gay man because he was seen with him one day. So what! Every other actor or model in L.A. is gay, you’re bound to befriend them if you are an actor/model yourself. I read that LMF filmed a Fox show last Spring that wasn’t picked up. Maybe they met through Fox, that doesn’t mean they’re sleeping together.
Went was seen on a “date” with Amie last April, and like Luke they hung out during the daytime and well into the night. It was even reported that she went back to Went’s place and didn’t leave until the next morning. There was even videotape of their stroll down the street that night. Yet people want to believe that loser, PH, when he admits that he sometimes lies to further his pathetic career. He talks about his best friend having a relationship with Went, yet he never shows proof of it. We never see this so-called friend of his. He’s the LIAR and I believe Went over an idiot gossip blogger any day.
Went would not allow his co-workers to lie for him as well. I’ve heard Dominic Purcell defend Went at least 3 times now. Dom has his own reputation and integrity to think about and wouldn’t want to be thought of as a liar. And besides, even if Went was gay and comes out sometime in the future, he’ll always be thought of as a lia, who deceived his own fans. I don’t think Went would want to be thought of that way. He’s too much of a classy man who’s integrity and reputation means alot to him.
