OlderAngelina Jolie is a Celebrity Do-Gooder
Angelina Jolie recently topped Reuters’ celebrity do-gooder poll for both her work as a U.N. goodwill ambassador and raising awareness of suffering in Africa.
On the bottom of the list? Fellow adoptive mother Madonna! The Queen of Pop was voted the least respected celebrity altruist of 2007 because of claims she used her fame and wealth to circumvent Malawian adoption rules.
“People aren’t stupid,” said Peter Walker, director of the Feinstein International Famine Center at Tufts University. “They can really sense when it’s just an endorsement and when somebody really means it. Someone like Angelina Jolie comes across as having more integrity than some celebrities and a greater sense that she doesn’t just do this for the publicity.”
One voter in the poll hurled quite the insult: “Madonna seems to do philanthropy the way she’s done Indian culture, sex and just about everything — like a disposable fad.”
Ouch!
Brad Pitt, Mia Farrow and Don Cheadle also won praise for their advocacy on behalf of Sudan’s war-torn Darfur region.

Hugs and kisses to my beloved Angie for topping this particular list. Now to me this is the kind of list that matters (this, and the most respected person in the U.S. list, where she tied with Laura Bush for fourth place). She is really coming into her own, she is so young and yet so well-respected. Am so proud of her, and also of Brad for making this list.
Ahem, where is the peace-awarded GC? I wonder if he would resurface for Darfur causes come January to March, when the GGs, SAGs and Oscars are given out?

Well, Jen does have 110 M in networth. It was reported she gave approx 2K to I think Obama. Had Jen given some “meaningful” amount, it would have been noticed by the media.
The evidences that she doesnt give back are just too strong for me to give her benefit of the doubt.

That’s obviously not the right way to start the new year, but honestly, it baffles me that to this day that kind of ignorant hatred can still exist.
Looking at what is happening to Pakistan right now, it only shows you what blind hatred and being unreasonable can lead to.
I think some people need to realize that its easier, and definitely healthier, to discuss differences than to argue nonsensically and fruitlessly about them.

Jennifer Aniston has a new man to go with her latest nose job — “Sex and the City” hunk (and Rosario Dawson’s ex) Jason Lewis. Jen first met Jason through then-husband Brad Pitt. After their first date, they began seeing each other nonstop.”

“The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”
Filmed in languid, wispy vignettes by cinematographer Roger Deakins, this is an elegiac, rueful evocation of the death of the Western hero, a slow passing that occurs long before Jesse (Brad Pitt) draws his last breath. Affleck is the disillusioned, romantic Ford — and the film is his tragedy more than anyone’s.
